Oh God the dad jokes 🤢 love the show otherwise lol
Watching this after having binge-watched Inkmaster is such a breath of fresh air. No useless drama, the competitors not only are respectful towards each other but also supportive to each other, the judges offer fair and constructive criticism all around... and Doug is just the most wholesome keel-ing machine ever!
So we just watching the same things now
I also jst watched ink master too i really like the flash challenges wig the chalk and pins and stuff
I agree with you. I have seen many TV competitions before but only if Forged in Fire are the competitors nice and supportive to each other the judges are also nice no drama of any sort and the chemistry between the judges and the contestants is just nice to see. Usually in TV competitions the loser is always like I was terminated unfairly, the judges are biased I was the more deserving one and all but in this competition every losing person is like I know what I did wrong, what should had been done, the other person was slightly better than me
A lot of competitors on Forged in Fire are blue-collar and ex-military. Makes sense that they’d have more respect for their fellow competitor.
@@freakingabagool3510 I have taken part in a lot of competition and find most people appreciate the skill and effort of their peers/ competitors regardless of background.
It's why I like this and loath watching things where there is so much ferocity and hype added for 'entertainment'.
Worst example is boxing. Pro boxing the hype etc. is all hatred and bile. I have taken part in a few ameteur bouts and you don't hate the person in the ring, doing so would leave you with a lack of control you can't risk.
Post match in most cases I have sat and talked to my opponent, comparing notes to help both of us improve. I remember the first loss was great. The guy I lost to totally outclassed me, knew what I was going to do before I did. He had 5 years more experience than me and said he wouldn't like to fight me in 5 years. That is respect from a peer.
Irony that shows how military training can limit the understanding. One in my class was a marine who couldn't get his head around how a pacifist could box and even more so how I could outbox him.
This wasn't lack of respect just understanding. To me boxing isn't violence, it's a sport. It's the same as I appreciate the ability of the weapons produced here to carve up a dummy or pig, because they aren't actually going to keel.
The flex test never fails to pucker my sphincter.
Which one?
@@baddoopey Educated guess : the last one in the line.
Thought I was alone in this. Thanks.
Yup...
😂 😂
I really love the professionalism and maturity of this show and the competitors taking their losses with dignity.
as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs XD that keels me every time
Keals*
@@lecis9270 🤓
I'm very sad that no one wielded the sword in their left hand to begin.
Or the cheek cut. And the bicep and shoulder stab
Or at the least had six fingers on one hand 😂
That would be Wesley's sword, not Inigo's, but I get what you're going for.
"As nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking Chairs" lmao
During that strength test, that had me sitting at the edge of my chair, gritting my teeth, and sweating. I've made long blades before and when the local "pro" bladesmith would test my blades, most of them would snap in half because of that test
Doug: "It will keel"
Jesse: "Thank you sir, it's what I came to hear."
yeah, me too
It will keal never stays old
Even though the slow thrusts during the kill tests look cool, I sure wish Doug would try some lunges with a bit more momentum behind them. Just to really see how quick that tip can move and how deep it goes in one movement.
More difficult to replicate twice over on both tests which is why I imagine he mostly uses very grounded and slow tests to hit the dummy in the same spot with the same force
Lol I was holding my breath while the blades were bent almost as much as the smiths
I'm just happy that the show got its own channel now. Bunch of gentlemen. 👏👏👏
Nice to see thatg doug holds the rapier in the right manner. The indexfinger goes over the crossbar through the ring at the ricasso.
Holding it in the wrong hand to begin with though... 😉🤣
I'm so happy Doug did the Inigo Montoya reference. Hearing that.. I'm sold!
I love the sportsmanship of this show! Look how happy the competitors were when their OPPONENT passes the flex test, that's sportsmanship right there.
Both made almost identical blades - they both performed almost identically. But that flex test was sheer torture.
Ron made really beautiful rapier
That flex test has got to be one of the most gut wrenching strength tests. Hats off to both smiths!
"As nervous as a longtailed cat in a room full of rockin chairs"
amazing x'D
Doug would have gotten bonus points if he hit it in the shoulder, the arm, motioned to cut them on the cheek, before ramming the blade into its guts.
Doug tests out a new sponge...It will KEAL
I love how in every one of these weapon forging competitions, the smiths congratulate each other on the good performance of the other's weapons. Such respect and maturity for such a fiercely competitive show and I love it. Adults acting like I was told adults would act, instead of the way most of them do.
This show is the only competitive site I’ve seen where the competitors show each other respect
@3:27, I am gonna put aside the fact that he has got knifes and swords but she's beautiful
3:49. Wow. Such grace. Much death. Very keel.
Having subtitles on is pretty funny at 8:55
So much build up lol
Yeah dude I went back and saw it and it's just Comedy gold🤣
again. best competitors of any competition show.
Fun fact, Jessie Harrison was my AG teacher back in highschool!
He made a great blade no doubt. But such an extreme flexibility test is sheer torture.
@@srinitaaigaura oh yeah that hurt to watch
Famous line: It, will KEAL
One of those episodes where both blades were equal-equal.
I have cringed literally EVERY TIME they have done the flex test on this show. When they do that test, they say that they're looking to see if the blade "picks up a set". Can someone tell me exactly what that means? Is a "set" the same thing as a bend?
Maybe it’s just me but I always struggled to understand the actual measurability of the clothing dummy sharpness test😅
music during kill test reminds me very much of the old classic strategy game Warcraft 2
Guys r always first class !!😁❤️⚔️
Ron's home forge is better than any I've seen on the show
The first test they were treating a rapier as a if it was a longsword or something. A rapier thrusts and does LIGHT slashes, not "all of my body's force slashes".
"Alexander perceives, on this occasion, the powerful force being used to parry his thrust, and makes a half pirouette with the left foot, bringing his right foot in as quickly as possible to raise it up and and bring his right side forward with his arm and sword, in the same way as above, into the angle that is open before him. He continues with the rest, the cut and the double-length step, as is shown in the figure. The real blow is made severely..."
"with the follow-through that has been described above, by putting his weight on the forward knee while leaning, and drawing the left foot up behind, almost to G, as is shown in the figure, where he has executed a powerful blow."
"he swings his blade around so the tip of his sword goes backwards under his opponent’s blade, then up, overhead and, as his left foot comes down, his blade also comes down and cuts across the right side of his opponent’s head, as it is shown in the figure."
"This reverse cut is shown being executed with full force, but when training with a friend, one stops the blow above the head of your opponent without touching him."
" With his body leaning forward, he strikes hard to the left side of his opponent’s head, as shown."
Just a few examples of powerful cuts in Thibault's rapier system. They're delivered in a much more structured manner than what is shown on this video though.
Hello, my name is Doug Marcaida, you made a blade, prepare to keal
Are they using a dummy of Putin in the sharpness test?
Favorite type of sword
Doug would lose to Inigo... just like Inigo lost to Westley... haha
Doug should have worn the face covering lol
The best show

Your weapon will keel
Very awesome
I was clenching my teeth during flex test
Win or lose, I'd still buy a blade from these smiths.
These guys have luxury work shop compare to others competitors
This sword will keel

Iconic
The flex tests always make me cringe. 😖

Inconceivable... You keep using that word... I do not think it means what you think it means
KEAL
Does the host jam his nose full of coke before the show?
أستغفر الله العلي العظيم الذي لا إله إلا هو الحي القيوم وأتوب إليه
What happened the actor that played him wanted money to show up ?
Why do you keeop commenting this?
@@mattd9881 I dont know why the op keeps commenting this. But, I will say I have been seeing more and more random commercial actors and background actors showing up on tv shows, the news, and other forms of media as "real people". So while the continuous commenting of the same thing over and over might not have a purpose. It could be to make you think about how actors keep getting shown as real people when they need to tell a certain story.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL 🕎🔯💪💪🇮🇱😎
