Thank you for this video! I have a wedding this weekend and I just picked up an H6, so I needed to know how to get audio into it from a board. Your tips are just what I needed.
I just bought Tascam DR 40x. I am wondering how to set up. This is great audio tutorial and learnt it a lot. Thanks again WSU team. have fun with DJ dance.
Extremely good information great content ! Super clean and very well done. I’m a second lenguaje learning and it is very easy to understand everything Gradcias !!!
Would highly suggest rode wireless go ii, set to always record. I’ve been burned sooo many times with DJ’s poorly balanced kits or they change settings after the check. Literally had a dude kill my entire output the moment ceremony started. Even if you just line it to the main recorder to use the receiver as a wireless feed for monitoring.
The biggest problem at my city is wind. Clipping on the jacket with the Tascam DL10 just doesn't cut it. Do you do the gaff tape fold and stick it to the inside of the jacket in windy conditions?
Hello this is amazing content. I have a question, what type of microphones are typically used to stream the audio to the speakers from the officiant ,bride and groom during the ceremony? Is it lav mics or hand held?
We use our Lav mics on the groom and officiant. We will also connect our audio recorder to the DJ system to record the mics and music. It’s great to have both as it will give you more options in post, and guarantees you have a backup. For Catholic ceremonies or if you can’t connect to the DJ system. We will just place the Zoom recorder with mic on the podium to capture any additional speakers and to get room ambience.
my audio is usually distorted by the djs volume even when i crank down my volume on my h4n pro to like -1 db is thier a way to avoid that? or am i better of just placing my recorder in the front of the Dj speaker?
You can take the chance, but sometimes DJ’s will turn up the audio during speeches so we leave some wiggle room. it’s easier to raise the levels in post than have to deal with peaking audio.
Believe it or not, Audio is actually MORE than 50% of the viewing experience. Why? Because many can watch a video with poor visuals but great Audio. However, no one wants to watch videos with great visuals and poor Audio. It turns you away from the experience completely. Obviously, it's impossible to say what percentage it is, but it's more than half with that Lil tid bit.

Nice video! Why you don't use stereo cable to plug in the console at 7:51 and 2 cable in the H6? The way you do it you get mono sound?
stereo not needed
Really great all around wedding tips! Thank you! 🙌💯
Good stuff right here

This video has MAJOR KEYS 🔐

I think you won't lose your audio track if it goes above -12db ...

"Little hack I like to do, don't even turn it on."
We didn’t know where that was going, but AG knew how to bring it back 😂
@@weddingcrashersuniversity He didn't bother showing what he meant about clipping the wire either
