wow so informative. Good job guys!
Awesome
What about useing a monopod?
How do you balance these zoom lenses on gimbal?
Nice video! Why you don't use stereo cable to plug in the console at 7:51 and 2 cable in the H6? The way you do it you get mono sound?
stereo not needed
Tamron 17-28mm 2.8 for sony?
Tip number 1: Use a Panasonic camera they have the best stabilization in market lol i wish my Sony a7siii had as great stabilization
my audio is usually distorted by the djs volume even when i crank down my volume on my h4n pro to like -1 db is thier a way to avoid that? or am i better of just placing my recorder in the front of the Dj speaker?
You are awesome! Thank you!
Extremely good information great content ! Super clean and very well done. I’m a second lenguaje learning and it is very easy to understand everything Gradcias !!!
why does the chubby guy sound so feminine!? ew.
Which stabilizer do you use? Thanks for the video, it's a pleasure to watch
I think you won't lose your audio track if it goes above -12db ...
You can take the chance, but sometimes DJ’s will turn up the audio during speeches so we leave some wiggle room. it’s easier to raise the levels in post than have to deal with peaking audio.
Thank you for this video! I have a wedding this weekend and I just picked up an H6, so I needed to know how to get audio into it from a board. Your tips are just what I needed.
We are happy we could help and hope the wedding went well!
I saw the football field and said out loud “Excuse me?!” 😂 Go pack go! Great video! Just did my first wedding, alone and handheld, and I kind of loved it!!
Let’s go Packers!! We have had the pleasure of filming a couple weddings at the legendary Lambeau Field 🏈
game changer!
Really great all around wedding tips! Thank you! 🙌💯
Decades ago, when I first started shooting weddings for a photographic studio, I used a medium format camera with a normal lens to shoot the entire wedding. Years later, my full-frame wedding kit consisted of two bodies and: 14mm f/2.8 24mm f/2 35mm f/1.4 85mm f/1.4 180mm f/2.8 My backup wedding kit consisted of one body and: 14-24mm f/2.8 28-70mm f/2.8 80-200mm f/2.8 For some weddings, the backup zoom kit and the prime kit would switch positions.
Hello this is amazing content. I have a question, what type of microphones are typically used to stream the audio to the speakers from the officiant ,bride and groom during the ceremony? Is it lav mics or hand held?
We use our Lav mics on the groom and officiant. We will also connect our audio recorder to the DJ system to record the mics and music. It’s great to have both as it will give you more options in post, and guarantees you have a backup. For Catholic ceremonies or if you can’t connect to the DJ system. We will just place the Zoom recorder with mic on the podium to capture any additional speakers and to get room ambience.
You guys are doing a great work. practical knowledge. I have watched all your videos and they are very informative ... kudos
I just found your channel as the young wedding filmmaker team. Your content is super helpful for me as a wedding videographer. Please keep it up! Thank you team!
Would you guys mind sharing the mode that you are using for these various shots? Great content!
Very well presented. Subscribed!
Now new camera sonyfx3 Sir can you recommend which Prime leses should I use, where to use ThankQ
I dont see how anyone could use Canon's 28 to 70 f/2 for video. Its a top notch lens that i REALLY want though.
I've got some weddings coming up to video and need an opinion on how I should set up when using these 3 cameras: Canon R6, Canon R6M2, & Canon Mark IV (might not use the Mark IV). I have lens for every focal length for all 3 lenses.
That’s a great kit of cameras and should be solid for your weddings! I would recommend using the R6 on gimbal most of the day with a wide angle lens. Use your R6M2 Handheld (since I believe it has a better stabilizer) with a 24-105 to get medium & closeups. I recommend filming almost everything in 4K 60fps, except ceremony & speeches in 4K 24fps. For ceremony, use 2 side camera with 70-200 lenses and 1 camera in the middle with 24-105 or similar to capture a wide shot. We plan to release more content on this soon, but I hope this helps give you some ideas! Let me know if you have any other specific questions.
Thank you for the quick response. Have you ever made a video about the Atomos Ninja V and your opinion on it? I've got 2 of them and the list could go on and on about the issues I've had with using them. I invested in the name brand ssd and atomos hdmi thinking it may fix the terrible recording quality but I don't even think that was the issue because it's giving subjects a bluish outline on their faces. I don't know a soul personally that has ever used an Atomos so I was wondering if you have and if you've ever ran into this issue?
Your set up times all not long enough. You need time to trouble shoot. If a issue comes up
Love how each member of the team gives their piece and topic with their own personality. Good stuff!
Yes I think that's ideal. I work for another videomaker and he's the kind of guy who spends the entire day with a gimbal and as such he wants the other people who shoot with him to do the same. I'll probably implement a second camera body to switch focal range on the go without having to rebalance the damn thing over and over again
A 24-70 or 24-105 is a great option for versatile handheld shooting, and compliments the gimbal nicely! It’s also very helpful if the camera body and lens has IBIS/stabilization.
Yeah im with you on that. im more handheld and monopod, the gimble is my 3rd option only because of the smooth look. but then i hate when it dies cuz im always forgetting to charge it smh. so i prefer handheld all the time lol
I just bought a Canon 14 to 35mm f4 L lens to use on my R6 M2. Do you think this will be the best choice? It always feels like 50mm is too close and there's apparently no 35mm prime L RF lens available. I'm planning on using it on an RS3 gimbal.
Yes! That should be a great lens for getting wide + medium gimbal shots. It’s very similar to the 14-24 that we recommend! You can switch between the Full Frame to APS-C sensor crops of the R6 M2 to get an even wider focal range.
Good stuff right here
Hi, cool work! We'd like to collaborate, how can we get in touch? :)
The biggest problem at my city is wind. Clipping on the jacket with the Tascam DL10 just doesn't cut it. Do you do the gaff tape fold and stick it to the inside of the jacket in windy conditions?
what is the monitor?
Samsung G9 ! It’s a 49 inch curved display, great for editing & productivity 🙌🏻
wtf with the "we" fuck keep it to the point!
"Little hack I like to do, don't even turn it on."
We didn’t know where that was going, but AG knew how to bring it back 😂
@@weddingcrashersuniversity He didn't bother showing what he meant about clipping the wire either
I like to make the lock screen on my phone the day of timeline.
This video is the most helpful video that I could find on RUclips. Thank you guys so much for making this video
Thanks for the feedback! Hopefully you can use some of these techniques at your next wedding!
Would highly suggest rode wireless go ii, set to always record. I’ve been burned sooo many times with DJ’s poorly balanced kits or they change settings after the check. Literally had a dude kill my entire output the moment ceremony started. Even if you just line it to the main recorder to use the receiver as a wireless feed for monitoring.
new subscriber from the Philippines! I hope to get a shout out from your next vid
super helpful!
biggest mistake is to not bring any lighting and rely on a low aperture lens which 90% of amateurs do. also, not using a decent vnd filter
great video! i agree that lighting makes a difference and what you have mentioned is key in any wedding. That's why we facepalm whenever a 2nd videographer/photographer comes with zero lighting gear
Good work guys.
Are you guys in milwaukee? I'm always over there!
Nope. I would NEVER EVER fake the first look.
they didn't really. they did the real thing then reshot the walk ups
@@photographybyliamanderson1659 ah that makes sense
Believe it or not, Audio is actually MORE than 50% of the viewing experience. Why? Because many can watch a video with poor visuals but great Audio. However, no one wants to watch videos with great visuals and poor Audio. It turns you away from the experience completely. Obviously, it's impossible to say what percentage it is, but it's more than half with that Lil tid bit.
