Shoulder harnesses were mandated in 1968 no exceptions. In many of these restorations when they are doing the headliners they take the shoulder harnesses out. That kind of gives a clue to the overall detail of the restoration.

In 1968 the GTO was voted the car of the year, not the Roadrunner.

You are correct Mr. Mazza 1968 Pontiac GTO, and then, the Road Runners became the Car Of The Year in 1969.

Well deserved as car of the year. Hood tach and polyurethane front end were great design inovations.

I had the exact same car, the exact same color, my vin was RM21 Nog, RM means it`s a real road runner, I believe n96 is the air grabber hood, I had that as well, I hate those rallys, so I went with Cragars, had the car 6 years, got a divorce and the car had to go., that was 23 years ago, and it still makes me sick to this day. A road runner 383 was rated at 325 hp, they had the 906 heads, I had a 650 carb, but the 383 wasn`t the best, these cars weighed close to 4,000 lbs, the GTX got the 440 and much nicer trim, this car , you have sure brings back memories, I had to buy the rear fin from Year One, and I did not have hood pins.I had the 727 auto, colulm shift, love that car.

It would have been nice to confirm that this is a numbers matching car, or not. Also, confirming what engine it has currently, without assuming that the engine designator on the surface facing the passenger compartment, at the back of the power bulge on the hood is correct. It looks like it reads 383. The standard engine from the factory.
As to the Motor Trend Car of the Year issue, these two country bumpkins were wrong, in 1968 the Pontiac GTO was the COTY as voted by the editors of Motor Trend Magazine. HOWEVER, the following year, 1969, the PLYMOUTH ROAD RUNNER WAS voted by the editors of Motor Trend Magazine as the Car Of The Year (COTY).
As to their mispronouncing of the paint color name, it is a "play on words" it is pronounced WITHOUT the emphasis on the first syllable i.e.
"sub", instead it is pronounced like the word "subtle", which is a synonym, of sublime, and should be pronounced by running the syllables together. Go to a dictionary and look it up, or find an English teacher and ask them. Same with the French word bezel, it's pronounced like
    "bets ull".
By the way nice ROAD RUNNER, perfect for cruise nights 🌙.

The numbers should be very important especially at 59000$ as well as the warning signs in the rear window tray and the paint cracking on the passenger front cowl. I like the heavy emphasis on the detailed interior restoration.

It isn't a 440. The dead giveaway is the area near the distributor mounting bracket. A 440 has a flat area stamped with engine code and other codes. There is no pad on that engine so it's not a RB block. Also, the Fender Tag is a (N) code which is a 383 CID(originally). Who knows what engine is actually in it. If it's a 400 then it's nothing but a low HP smog motor and not introduced until 1972. The ad says (period correct engine(. What a joke). Way overpriced for what it represents.

@@coryk1045 Numbers thing is overrated unless a seller is asking the moon. Everyone wants a deal wether they match or not, none of my #s cars brought one more penny than non. They run the same...

Actually great restored factory interiors are common in the classic flipper market. Often it’s the only good part in a unknown car
