Nobody has been able to fix this.. I use left trigger for zoom (called fishstick). On MCC, this works two ways: 1) holding then letting go of the trigger engages zoom then de-scopes, and 2) tapping the trigger twice engages two levels of zoom for sniper. However, on Infinite trigger zoom can only perform one of those functions, depending on whether 'hold to zoom' is checked in the settings menu. How can we get the trigger to perform both functions? Being able to hold the trigger to zoom and then let go to descope is really helpful because you don't have to go into the second level of zoom to descope.
Happy to see someone do something creative with shift and back paddles… I have small back right paddle as shift. R3 is slide but shift + R3 is melee (so basically like your squeezing the controller to punch someone lol). I have small back left paddle for switching nades and shift + small back left paddle is jump. Also, I have my right stick on delayed on 3-5 ticks with a 9 sensitivity. The way aim assist is on Halo, playing on delayed helps you turn quickly while being able to make precise small movements when aiming at someone.
I think I’ll eventually add the shift function. Right now I’m just training my brain away from 2 decades of default(now called Legacy) layout. That being said, my layout is similar to yours except that by not having a shift I still have to use a couple buttons. I keep switch grenades/equipment on the Dpad, then put reload/interact on X and AI scan on A. My train of thought is those 4 actions are probably least impacted by momentarily taking the thumb off the sticks.
Fantastic video! I just switched to controller from m/kb and got the Elite 2. I knew there must be some high tier configurations but was having trouble thinking of it or finding them online. Great video, easy to copy, and the scheme really does make a lot of sense quickly. Although I kept melee and equipment the same. Also added shift d-pad up to record a clip!
Heretic! (Halo pun intended) Nah but srsly: Halo feels amazing on controller once you set it up correctly. The sticks take a bit more tweaking than normally, but it's good once you get it down.
I may be a maniac but I actually shoot with the paddles and jump and crouch with the triggers, after doing this there was a huge increase in my sniping especially the shock rifle
Just got mine was looking for some ideas on how to use the paddles for different games, just started Halo Infinite (SP) i like the idea of using the upper LP for shift. I really dislike using the Push L stick for sprint had few controllers in the past that got some wear and tear from it, wanted a dedicated paddle for that. Thanks!
The Xbox elite 2 isn’t able to be customised on the accessories app after you update it to the latest firmware - be aware it deleted out your Bluetooth software and prevents your controller from connecting to your PC.
Does the game itself even recognize the paddles? or just does whatever they are assigned to. aka can you assign paddles to commands or will it just assign them to the default button layouts. I dont wanna buy a new controller and have the paddles just extra unrecognized buttons ect. thanks.
You can fully customize what paddles are assigned to any function for any game. The way it works is the controller comes with an app on the Xbox which allows you to “map” the paddles to any button on the controller. So for example, I can map a paddle to the “A” button, meaning the paddle will perform whatever the “A” button does in whatever game I’m playing. That’s usually “jump” for most games, so the paddle will let me jump. The program actually lets you fully customize the function of any button on the remote, not just paddles. So I could map my physical “A” button on the remote to perform the “Y” button function, the right trigger function, the bumper function, etc. The program allows you to save 3 “Button layouts” so people usually make a button layout for the top 3 games they play, and you can change between them at the click of a button. Well worth it controller, it’s just expensive and if you are rough with it it can break in 3 months of consistent playing
@@Trypal_YT exactly so the game doesnt recognize "paddle1" if you try and bind it. There's nothing extra to assign in-game you'll just get a paddle that's also assigned to a button. Alternate actuation instead of extra actuation.
almost. for me it saves when i exit the profile im currently mapping in the app. then its saved and works instantly in the game im already in. it will then always work, and load in automatically whenever you use the controller
alot of personal experience being told in this video as if it relates to everyone, but it doesnt, none of your gripes affect me, aiming aund using my right inner paddle doesnt mess with my aim, it might mess with yours, but dont assume everyone else has the same issue

Do you use radial or axis independent for your calculation on sticks?
So you're using your ring finger for A and b? (Bottom paddles) or are you only using your middle fingers for all 4 paddles?

With new drop weapon meta do you have a new setup for drop weapon button? Because holding switch weapon isn't fast enough.
I made shift RT the drop button. Also made shift LT the mark button for easy marking during a fight.

What do you do with scan (D-pad down) for the campaign/exploring? Just use the D-Pad for that one since it's not something you're using in a fight?
Although it is extremely useful in mp. If someone drops or dies with a power weapon that will highlight it in yellow.

Did you mess with the stick sensitivity at all within the app?
Bumper jumper makes halo a 2 paddle game at the most I don’t know why you’d use all 4
