An Excellent Video! You have helped me to clear the fog that is swirling inside my head regarding composition in wilderness areas. Back when I was your age, I spent a good deal of time in wildernesses. But alas, I was not into cameras back then. Now I am, but need to keep watch on the elevation. Thus, your videos are not only educational, but gives rise to enjoyable nostalgia! Cheers!
Thanks Trey. Really glad to hear that. I know the feeling. It goes away with practice & time, plus having workflows to follow:) Sometimes it's really nice to hike without a camera. Having one really changes hiking into photo hunting. Not as relaxing, but really fun!
Thanks very much, Dave for this amazing video. Happy Birthday!! Hope your day has been wonderful!
Day late but Happy Birthday! Great info on composition.
Enjoy your birthday, Dave!
Happy birthday Dave! I am like a day late reading your newsletter... But here I am and watching the new video.
You are a great spirit and a wonderful photographer, especially going out there into nature - I am too skiddish doing it. So you are living my dream! I watch your videos to be just a part of the adventure - partially seeing what you see.
Happy Birthday Dave. Always learn something from your videos!
Thanks Satish. Good to hear from you buddy.
Great tips on composition. Planning a trip to Switzerland and the Swiss Alps. All your suggestions are helpful!!

You're welcome! Thank you for watching:) Have a great day.
Happy birthday buddy!! Can't wait o get out hiking with ya🙌
We gotta find a location stat. Been looking at maps & weather all day:)
Happy birthday Dave! Having lived my whole life in the eastern US, I never knew much about the state of Washington. After watching your videos, I suggested we go there for our family vacation this year. The hardest part of planning this trip has been narrowing down where we want to go. We're planning on Olympic and Mt. Rainier, with hopefully a hike up Mt. St. Helens. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks John. There is a lifetime of adventure out here. Have fun on your first trip. I'd guess there will be many more:)
Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday Dave! I really appreciate your passion and I thank you for sharing your knowledge!! Once again, a great educational video!

Happy Birthday (tomorrow), Dave! Thank you for all your awesome content and I hope you have a great birthday!

Happiest of Birthdays to a amazing person!
Thanks!
Great stuff as always Dave. Happy Birthday. Just went over your great PDF photography guides, as I am going out in my local woodland to hone my craft. Working on DOF and image sharpness. Your tutorials have been a game changer for me. All the best. Be safe out there.
Glad you like the guides! Thanks Rick. Have a nice weekend buddy.
It's definitely my dream to join you on a workshop someday. The more insane the off-trail mountain climbing, the better. 😂
Hey! launching some backpacking tours in 2023. Small group, 2-3 people. Will announce them to my email list in the next few months. Would be great to have you.
Thanks so much, Dave! About to head out for 3 weeks of hiking and camping. I wasn't going to take my "big" camera, but you've inspired me to reconsider. Also, Happy Birthday!
Love to hear that. Have fun out there buddy. Thank you!
Happy Birthday Dave, amazing camera technique and editing, please keep up the good work, i have learned so much from your tuition, many thanks.
Love to hear that, Robin. Thankyou!
HB-day Dave, may the early morning sky shoot an Eta Aquarid your way to make it special.

Happy birthday, Dave...You and I share the same BD. I totatly enjoy your teaching style and have applied several of your technics to my photography
Happy birthday! Thank you!
happpy birthday
I'm so pleased for your videos and I really enjoy them. I wish I could do this kind of travelling (I did in the past), but these days I cant do it. So I really enjoy to watch what you are doing!!!
Since long time I'm fighting with one topic and unfortunately I know nobody I seriously can ask. I would be very pleased if you could give me an hint. When I do some hiking sometimes I think the track is really nice steep, but when I'm watching my shots, the track looks far away from the real steepness. How can I show the steepness of a track, if only have the opportunity on the track and if I'm surrounded e.g. by forest.
Great location indeed! Question regarding the JPG histogram render, do camera warnings from zebras or other clipping indicators also use the JPG render as it's basis? Interesting that camera companies havn't implemented a system to compensate for it so we get more of a representation for RAW, maybe too many variables.
All off of JPEG, including the blinkies. I cover techniques here as a work around: ruclips.net/video/NQU4_CzvHLQ/видео.html
Incredibly beautiful location! I used to think that Colorado had the best mountains, but you've revised my opinion! I know that you typically shoot video on GoPro. Dave, can I ask, what kind of external mic do you use?
Love it out there. Hiked a bunch in Colorado. Great ranges down there, but personally, I like the pacific northwest much more. It's waay more rugged & wild, plus glaciers & volcanos are hard to beat for photos. Here ya go on he mic : www.davemorrowphotography.com/p/whats-in-dave-morrows-camera-bag.html
I’m supposed to be paying attention to photographic technique, but these familiar views of Glacier Peak sent me off to Google Earth to test my hunches. Back in the late 1960s the price of copper was up (Vietnam War and all) and Kennecott was threatening to strip mine Miners Ridge. Meanwhile the effort was underway to form North Cascades National Park. Friends and I talked of monkey wrench attacks on Kennecott equipment if they made the attempt. Yes, we were smoking dope :). On October 2, 1968 North Cascades National Park was formed and that spectacular landscape is still unspoiled and available for wilderness adventures and photography. The miners didn’t strip mine Miners Ridge.
Hayduke would be proud! haha. Nothing wrong with smoking a little dope once in a while;) The wilderness out there is so wild. One of the best places on earth. Would loved to have seen it back in the 60s & 70s. Thanks for the story. I enjoyed it!
@@DaveMorrow The parts protected haven’t changed much thankfully, except the glaciers are smaller. As a HS kid I helped a UW professor with his study of the Coleman Glacier on Mt Baker. We documented an advance of the Coleman all the way down to Glacier Creek. That was in the mid-1960s. It will take more than hayduking to stop climate change.
👍
Hey Dave, what happened to my/your old course. I thought I had it for lifetime?
Hey, You do. Login anytime & it's there. Courses.DaveMorrowPhotography.com If you have any questions, email me. Support@DaveMorrowPhotography.com. Thanks for purchasing the course:)
I realize that you don’t want a crowd coming to your special spot, but what mountain range is this?
Cascade Mountain Range. Stretches from southern British Columbia to Northern California.
