    Printing your own work is really the greatest reward. I finally got some metal prints of my favorites from NZ and now they’re mounted throughout our apartment. Makes me very happy every time I see them and really puts things in perspective. Seeing the physical location you shot turned back into a physical representation that went through all those digital, intangible steps is a special thing. It really motivates and allows a fresh perspective on one’s own photography.
    Great vid Mads!

    You can have THE best lens, body, tripod, filters and everything else, but if you don't have the light, you won't get a good pic. Light alone doesn't make the photograph, but without it no one can - with it, and with the right ability, you can. Excellent video.

    Can only look on longingly from here on the East Coast of Australia, our land is so old that the epic sites have all been ground down. Planes trains and automobiles may have been invented, what hasn't been is the money tree that would shower me in filthy lucre to enable trips to be taken to those wonderful sites you share.. Doesn't stop me watching your posts, saving up my pension money to buy your composition e-books, well worth every dollar by the way, and having pleasant dreams of visiting the sites you show and being young and fit enough to put myself in the shots. Maybe in my next life. 😄

      Thank you, David! Yes, this specific video was a lot of extra work. All the small graphics and animations just take so much extra time and problem solving. There's a whole host of photographers who inspire me - too long of list - and it depends a bit on the specific work we're talking about. For video production it's basically the landscape photographers on RUclips, but I also try to use ideas from non-landscape photographers :)

    I have just managed to find a Sony Zeiss 16-35 for my A99 and so can't wait for better weather to go out with it. I don't mind rain, but it has been a bit too wet recently! I don't have a 24-70, but I do have the Sigma 24-105 f/4 A lens, which is great. That together with my Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 or the Sony SSM 70-400 are my go to zooms.
    It is amazing what lurks in the shadows!

    I just captured some of my best landscapes of my life. The weather was incredible. Black clouds hovering over the mountains, clear skies of towards the ocean sunset surrounded by swirls that captured the colours, and wispy low clouds flying through the scene at a million miles an hour. I was sitting on the rocks laughing to myself the whole time. I usually only encounter exciting conditions when I'm looking out my backyard or driving to work.

    • @MadsPeterIversen
      @MadsPeterIversen  Год назад +1

      Thanks a lot. No, I advice against using negative space for EPIC photos where you wanna cram as much "nature stuff" into the frame as possible. Negative space usually conveys something else and also something I like to use.

    • @a.keithclarke7975
      @a.keithclarke7975 Год назад

      @@MadsPeterIversen, ok, I've watched again, correct! I suppose then it depends on what criteria one is giving to "EPIC", because, in my view, "EPIC" landscape photos can also be had using negative space. :)

    sleeping in the engine room of a ferry? you mean in the shared bed rooms in deck 2 of the Norröna? :D funny fact, I slept there despite having booked a normal cabin in an upper deck. But the sea was shaky and I couldn't handle sea sickness, and the stablest place on the boat by far was the deck 2 next to the engine room. So it was a good choice from you :D. To do epic photos, it is super easy, go to epic places (in europe : norway/dolomites/faroes/iceland...), do research to see where to go exactly there, chase epic moments (usually at sunrise or sunset, depends of the weather, which is lottery), stay as many days as possible, possibly months. Use a drone. Add a final epic touch on photoshop.
