Silas, Don’t scrap those 1950s classics. There are a lot of buyers in Scandinavian countries Sweden, Norway, Netherlands (even UK) who will fly to USA , purchase your car if nearly complete regardless of condition, and arrange shipping themselves.
Thé 80-86 Ford f250 Brown and tan truck looked pretty nice! I know you can keep them all! Being straight with the buying of the converters is best for business and not worth get in trouble with the law! Take care.
You make them, and we enjoy watching them, always enjoy you inviting us along, Our local scrap guy is ditto to what you do,all the cat converters are accounted for, 100% all legal
I have watched your vids for a good while now and really enjoy your content it is good to see an honest scrap dealer. Keep up the good work. Love seeing the classic America stuff.
You da man Silas!, taking stolen cats is similar to lying, it's gonna catch up to you at some point. Side note, I've had four unsuccessful attempts of people trying to steal my cats, so I bought a $140 wire welder and armored up my exhaust system with metal scraps so much it looks like a dragon's tail!
A friend of mine used to buy junks to scrap. He got a call once and the caller described a car he was going to junk. The car body is ok except for a dent on the passenger side. When we went to look at it , the dent started at the front bumper and went all the way to the back bumper. Just one of many things to deal with when working with the public!
I find your videos so relaxing to watch, keep up the good content. While watching this one it occurred to me your neighbours probably don’t want to piss you off… might wind up with loader tracks on their lawn and their car in their living room….
Hey great video again and nice to know you're a stand up guy ..these catalytic converter thefts are a shame but big money in the pockets of thieves while car owners suffer so its nice to know you're on the justice team Again I really enjoy your videos and please keep them coming and be safe
That Ford truck looked like it was in pretty good condition yet , I see trucks on the road that are in way worse condition than that truck was. It always sickens me to see a good vehicle get destroyed. When I were younger I didn't care either.
Hey, honesty is the most valuable asset when it comes to running a business! Good to know you're keeping it 100%! On the other note, sad to see the Grand Marquis getting processed, it's such a clean body. The Toyota Tacoma looks like a mid to late 90s model. Popular trucks, hope it gets a new home or as a parts truck! Also sad to see a couple of Bullnose Fords and a squarebody. But if I had to guess, rust.
Silas, the vintage iron I see on your videos are virtually non existent here in Florida now. That is, unless you have a fat wallet. Being retired, I've been wanting to do one last restoration. I had a 1960 Apache 10 I drove for years. If I lived closer I'd volunteer for work as long as it took to get one. Work ethic may be a dinosaur these days, but I see it is still alive and well with folks like you. I worked in junkyards for years, and your videos take me back to younger days, hot rods, hot days, and hard work.
I absolutely love that old green school bus. I wish i had the money to buy it. I’ve got a small block 350 and a 700R4 trans that needs a home. That old bus looks perfect. I’m an old bus enthusiast but I’m short on funds. Oh well. I hope it finds a good home if Silas doesn’t rebuild it.
Releasing the plug after taking a bath, it alway the scum that makes the most noise and the last to drain . Great to watch that old house final being loaded into the dumpster, every thing has it's used by date. Super excellent watching as usual. Thank you Silas.
It's a different thing when your wife knows you will turn that $10,000 into $20.000 through your business, than to spend $1500 on a truck that will cost another $1500 to get it roadworthy. Love your videos Silas! I went to a local junk yard when I was 14 and wanted to work for the man running the magnet crane. He told me to come back when I was 21. By then I was in the Air Force and he was out of business.
It's terrible that these thefts are happening everywhere. I'm from Pennsylvania and a local transportation company that picks up handicap people for appointments had all their catalytic converters stolen off of their vans overnight a few months ago. And sadly where it happened there is no local police only the state police. Even the sheriff's department out here is not allowed to do regular patrol's. They only serve warrants, eviction notices, PFA's and transport prisoners to court
You really got to watch yourself with those catalytic converters. There's been a lot of guys put in jail because of them. That's why I like watching your videos you're honesty and integrity.
"Not my circus, not my monkeys" One of my favorite sayings. Don't you just love it when folks are happy to stick their monkeys in your circus when they have no clue but think they do. I think this is a great video. It serves to tell people you ARE an honest dealer and you don't and won't deal in dishonesty of any kind. The bad guys won't bother if they think you'll call the police. I'd rather have good repor and a good reputation with police, it just makes life easier. Glad the green school bus found a home. You can't save them all but it's good when you can. Always enjoy seeing what Silas is doing. Stay safe and GOD bless
I'm 1 of those people who is just like this guy i work Graf yard at arrow towing at night and I'm nice to people and I take time off work to spend time with my family
It’s fascinating to watch that crusher! The sad thing about these people that hoard, not only do they pollute the environment, but many of these vintage cars could have been restored years ago and put back on the road instead of setting and rusting away while trees and brush grow up through them!
Hey Silas I respect your explanation on the catalytic converters And being a straight up honest Guy and running an straight up honest business keep up the good work I really enjoy watching your videos 👍👍👍👍👍☺️
Dang, how’d I miss this one? I was just telling my husband how all your videos are so calm and relaxing, lol! Nah, this was still pretty chill. And I never figured you were buying stolen converters, but I tell you what… I’ve been house shopping and thanks to your videos, a garage is on my list of “must haves”. I know even a garage can be broken into but if I can add a layer of protection, I will. I just want to go out in the morning to a working, undamaged car.
We detest People who steal from other People ! We do NOT need Creeps like that - he must have some kind of a History otherwise the Police is NOT involved ! Honesty is the Way to a Proper/Great Life ! Loading more House into the Dumpster and the Green Bus said Good By ! Its Crunching Up Time again - we Love ! Wife's do Understand Men and Visa Versa and than You get the Total Opposite - wow ! Hard Working and Honest Silas ! Many Cheers from us in Australia !!!!
i literally had to clock over crushing that old brown and tan ford truck. literally my dream truck paint and all. Where do you list your vehicles (or can you even sell whole vehicles in your state?) id love to find a truck like that in as good shape!
Shame to see that old truck get crushed, looked like it was pretty straight and rust free on the side I could see, probably someone would have wanted those body panels at least.
One guy stole an entire air conditioner unit, one of those large ones.. not the rooftop type. Well when they turned it in at the scrap, they got busted because they scratched the numbers off or something.. Luckily the house wasn't ours anymore, the bank had it at that time so it wasn't much of a loss for my parents but the guy who did it, it was one of the kids I knew in school in 9th grade.
Hello From the UK, England. Thank you for another interesting down load. I just loved the 3 red, white and blue crushed cars. Keep the flag flying Mr Silas. My wife Sara, is like yours too, thank God. JR
I kinda hated to see the brown pickup, that looked nice btw, get crushed. So I just laughed because there was nothing I could do about it. Thanks for posting.
I guess well have to search elsewhere for the thousands of stolen cats 😅🤣 its really nice that you show us the integrity of the business you run. Respect to you !
It’s sad that you have to explain your business to trolls on the internet. It’s gotten so you can’t say or do anything without being attacked by these people. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures!
I'm sure there is a lot of paperwork involved with your business. You have to account for every "CAT" you process as does whoever you are selling them to. As long as at the end of the day you haven't run afoul of the law you can hold your head high.
Fair play to you Silas dobbin in that guy and any others that try to feed you stolen cats .The situation here in the UK is horrendos with scroats jacking up cars on peoples driveways and cutting off cats sometimes totaling the cars with the damage they cause. Thy're no different to the scum that rob you at knifepoint or assaults you,the courts should make the offence as serious as grand theft auto that way some resitance might affect the thinking of these cockroaches and their buyers.
Honesty is always the best policy and I am really proud of you Silas good job , this is why I truly do enjoy your videos have a great weekend brother and like always keep up the great work bro.
Silas, you should make an introduction video and have it on the starting page. A video where you once and for all explain your cat policy. That you do not scrap every old car that comes in your way but in reality try to save what you can when many/most scrappers do not. The reason as to why you don't part out cars and sell them piece by piece. That you have a business to run and profits must be made in order to make a living. That you can not save everything for nostalgic reasons and if people even won't pay scrap price you have to make a executive decision. It amazes me that people won't listen and keep on coming with these questions, and most of all that they can be rude saying it.
Silas I'm big on recycling the crush cars, what happens when they leave your yard? Maybe a video on this subject would be helpful, I'm sure that yard might have video themselves that they can share with you?
That’s right take that ,,, it’s not my Circus and not my monkeys lol take THAT to the junk yard , lol😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉 nice thanks BigAl California, praise Jesus Christ grace grace grace amen 🙏
had a guy stealing converters around here he got 38 of them when the cops caught him they were all gone i heard for 2 people he took them from is the cops got paid their fines and their still waiting for the crook to pay them back and if he dont the cops will fine and arrest him again and the last i heard from one guy he has been in jail twice he paid the fines the cops gave him but its been over 3 years and the people are still waiting for their money!! when a crook gets out of jail it should be mandatory they maintain a full time job!!!
I have said for years the cats on a car need to have the VIN numbers stamped into them it would do a lot towards making it much harder to sell stolen cats!
I know you save what you can...but I still can't believe the older trucks you still crush......Prices on 80-97 Fords going up......They are tough to find in the Northeast.........How about do a video setting off some airbags in the cars??!!
I've witnessed my neighbor buy some nice car batteries from shady characters late at night. Outside his parents house. Silas is such a great guy. We need more people like him. Honest and hard working.
I agree
How would a guy get ahold of him looking for a old lawn mower?
I believe he's minonitte or ex amish and they are very hard workers and very nice people
@@deangeyer2512 Most are...higher percentage of them than politicians, for sure...
We have them bub...there around...you just don't have your eyes open to them
I respect your cat explanation and your integrity.

Good info on the catalytic converters. Thanks for being honest and legit!

Suprised the crusher starts and operates at very cold temperatures!
I like watching the crusher work (on anything).
You da man Silas!, taking stolen cats is similar to lying, it's gonna catch up to you at some point. GOD BLESS YOU AND ALL WHO READ THIS AMEN.
Trolls are a pain....you block them these lunatics that run their mouth ..Trolls need to just shut it. Keep up the good work..videos are awesome 👌 👏 👍

Love the color on that green bus. Hope it’s going to a good home
I loved this video. Simply because I love to see the tempered glass explode in the crusher. Usually the loader busts them with a less dramatic effect.

Thanks for the cat comments. It is so obvious you are not a shady operator. Cheers from Canada.
Nice to see an old bus get saved.
Shame to see that old truck get crushed, looked like it was pretty straight and rust free on the side I could see, probably someone would have wanted those body panels at least.
Yeah I thought the same the old girl was fighting back in the crusher 😢
Good for you being honest.
Another good one Silas! Thanks for the entertainment, and keep them coming!
Silas that was a very pleasant and fun little video thank you

Thanks for sharing
We all care about you and your family.....
Very interesting, Silas. We always learn something from you. Husband and I are still talking about the house demolition there.!!!!
You made my day a little better bud 😊👍thank you 😊
You might spend $10k at an auction but that's just buying inventory. It'll turn into 30 to 40% more than that.
Hello From the UK, England. Thank you for another interesting down load. I just loved the 3 red, white and blue crushed cars. Keep the flag flying Mr Silas. My wife Sara, is like yours too, thank God. JR

Agreed, there's someone out there fixing one up in way worse shape than that one was.
Looked way better than one I just sold and heavier duty
That truck really didn't want to get crushed. You could tell it was putting up a fight.
"Not My Circus - Not My Monkeys" 🤣🤣 I haven't heard that one in a LONG time!
What a mess regarding these converters !
I guess well have to search elsewhere for the thousands of stolen cats 😅🤣 its really nice that you show us the integrity of the business you run. Respect to you !

Thanks for this video. Great to see you and your work again. Keep posting the videos. Your doing an amazing job
Something about watching cars being crushed. Pretty cool. I just want to push the button one time. Lol. Have a wonderful day.
Thanks, Silas. It was an adventure. :)
Neat vid Silas. Glad to see the house going away. Also a good talk regarding the fraud scams. Looking forward tot he next program.

I think the best t
Metal thieves story was the one in England where they took a full 300 feet of railroad track out of an In Use line.
Crushing cars is sure different than back in the 60's and 70's in the junkyard I grew up in.
In North Carolina only way you can sell converter is if you are junking the car goes with it.
At first I was thinking you found a body in a trunk, then I thought a bag of money in the trunk (finders keepers). Still love the crusher. 😎
Good video as always. Thanks Silas.😊

Silas is a Businessman not a dumb idiot or a THIEF!!!! 100% class act
15 degrees?! I'm sitting here in Phoenix complaining that it got down to 35° this morning. It was a little chilly in my shorts on the way to the gym.
How funny about the wife deal, you know when that approval is necessary it's a no sale!
Todays vid very interesting on those cats. 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍
Good video Silas Very KOOL My Wife dozen Break my chops either cause I’m not married 😂
Silas
I'm big on recycling the crush cars, what happens when they leave your yard? Maybe a video on this subject would be helpful, I'm sure that yard might have video themselves that they can share with you?
Oh good another old bus is getting saved 😊
That’s right take that ,,, it’s not my Circus and not my monkeys lol take THAT to the junk yard , lol😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉 nice thanks BigAl California, praise Jesus Christ grace grace grace amen 🙏
Your doing your best silas keep up the great work pal! Hi5.
I think it would be pretty cool to see a video about, how to get into this business, as an owner. As always Silas, GREAT VIDEO!!!!!
California has become strict with the cats. Great video.
Love what you are doing keep up the good work
Great video
That is why I don't go and pick up junk car parts from anyone house anymore Special if I don't know them
I'm ready to go treasure-hunting again Salas
had a guy stealing converters around here he got 38 of them when the cops caught him they were all gone i heard for 2 people he took them from is the cops got paid their fines and their still waiting for the crook to pay them back and if he dont the cops will fine and arrest him again and the last i heard from one guy he has been in jail twice he paid the fines the cops gave him but its been over 3 years and the people are still waiting for their money!! when a crook gets out of jail it should be mandatory they maintain a full time job!!!
It's good to know that you are a standup guy who is worthy of the respect that I'm sure you receive. Now, about that Opel GT...?
I liked the red Dodge truck in the beginning .
I just about fell off of the rock I was sitting on when you said not my circus not my monkeys😂
You are a good man
I have said for years the cats on a car need to have the VIN numbers stamped into them it would do a lot towards making it much harder to sell stolen cats!
Thank goodness for great wives!💪
It is nice to know that there's one junkyard that's honest
I know you save what you can...but I still can't believe the older trucks you still crush......Prices on 80-97 Fords going up......They are tough to find in the Northeast.........How about do a video setting off some airbags in the cars??!!
Cool always cool stuff always thanks 😎
So, did you end up buying that converter?
I've witnessed my neighbor buy some nice car batteries from shady characters late at night.
Outside his parents house.
Where he stashes his E-350, E-150, one of many Astrovans and a Grand Prix he has left up on front jack stands.
All four no longer have cats. lol.
Probably not the same guys but if you tolerate people like that around your neighborhood you're gonna get more of it.
That's a good wife
Cool thanks 👍😊
you crush that f250 still had a lot of good parts
Not my Circus, Not my Monkeys......I haven't heard that saying before... I had a chuckle......I have a small business and your reputation is very important as you understand.
Previous film you bought vans? Vans don’t have side windows or seats, in the UK these are known as estate vehicles
