I basically learned how to thermal and do cross country in Condor 1. If you figure out how to fly without the thermal helpers, you'll be well on your way to successful flights in real life. The planning / mental calculations / decisions required in a simulator are basically identical to real life, but there's no risk. I flew a little more conservatively in real life than in the sim, but that didn't stop me from getting around 5 x 500km cross country flights after 6 years of flying - in an Astir CS and a Libelle.
I have a top notch PC and a VR headset and to my own surprise I ended up enjoying more soaring in Condor 2 than in MSFS even from the purely graphical point of view. The image is way more crisp, and from reasonably high altitude, it look absolutely amazing. Of course for slope flight it's not that great but the average height you fly at in thermal flights it's amazing. I am slightly fed up with the constant blurryness of MSFS, I sometimes feel like it simulates a short sighted pilot that lost its glasses. Also with Condor you can get a constant 90 FPS, making the whole experience much smoother.
Thanks for the video. can you rate the three programs with the objective of learning to become a glider pilot. I have a lot of heavy jet time and paragliding time but I haven't flown for over 15 years.
for me as paraglider was condor 2 realy helpfull to understand how to fly in termical conditions or how to soar along the ridge. now is condor 3 available, but unfortunaly with the same graphic.. looking for msfs24 now
Graphics and flight models are one aspect but... one IMPORTANT aspect is accuracy of aerology in the simulators ! Can you tell us ? Is condor better than FS regarding aerology ? THX
To be honest. I don't use the simulator to train my gliding skills. I use it to get familiar with unknown regions for cross country flights. The reality of flying a glider is completely different in a simulator.

I feel like an updated video with Condor 3, X-Plane 12 and MSFS 2024 is in order :)

Amazing how well you emulated your RL track in MSFS!
Thank you for including the airport name!
wow! great video! Thank you! 👍

Non of them, i.e. all are the same. Real flying is different

Condor is way better
Why did you have the sims zoomed in so much?
My screen was not wide enough...
It doesn’t hurt when you crash.
Which is more realistic?
MS Flight simulator
@@JörgBächtiger i mean the physic?
@@kamini-gs4it No the visual. The physic is always an approximation. A real glider behaves differently.
@@JörgBächtiger All simulation by nature are an approximation of reality but Condor do much a better job
What your computer specs. Flight simulator is better than Condor and with Fs reality pro can be even more imersive.
Based on what Is MSFS better then Condor 2?
@@onealpha710 Graphics
@@Stef3m Agreed, but that´s were It ends, just eyecandy for the most part.
@@onealpha710 Yep, that's why I only mentioned graphics
Condor 2 Visually is crap spoils a fantastic sim compared to msfs. I wonder when OXO and the crew will bring out condor 3
no, unfortunaly the same as condor 2.. realy dissappointed about
