I love seeing you playing the "air bass". Hubby is a musician, and he's already taught our 18 month old grandson how to play "air bass" and " air drums", lol! The Eagles and Home Free are our grands favorite bands...so far...let's go!
Wow, I've watched at least 50 reactions to this song and you are the first person I've ever heard mention the little guitar pieces being sung up high there. I heard them after a listen or two originally and thought they were so cleverly done, and wondered why no other reactor ever noticed them. Congratulations Leonardo!! You have made my day, and I'm so glad someone else noticed them and finally gave Home Free credit for them. I thought they were just awesome inspiration from the boys. Great review!
One of my favorites. Thanks for your honest ear, Leonardo. You have to listen to Home Free's "Helplessly Hoping." The harmonies will totally blow you away, a true eargasm.
This one is in my top 5 from Home Free. I grew up listening to The Doobie Brothers and this was one of my favorites. I have to agree with those saying HF upgraded it and made it current. But then they do that with all of the covers they sing. Keep the HF coming, loving the ride with you.
Home Free...their calling card is the depth of their technique and their harmonizing together. Some people have written them off as just dumb country guys....but they are true professionals and love their craft. Thank Leonardo for giving these guys a fair shot & recognizing their talent. This is definitely one of my favorites from the last year that they have covered.
What a great idea! Don't forget to tell us what happened. I love this version. I'm convinced that Tim must have a standing bass hidden under his shirt to go with Adam's swallowed drum kit.
Make sure you record the reaction for us. The first time my daughter heard HF she thought there was a band. She was listening to their mashup of Fishin' in the Dark and Boondocks.
I will NEVER listen to music the same way EVER again after listening to it with you!!!! I won’t just listen, I will dissect it!! Don’t worry, it’s a good thing!! I appreciate music more!! THANK YOU LEONARDO!! I took music appreciation in college. You should teach it, oh wait you are!! Because Now I truly FEEL music appreciation!!!!
Adam Rupp has been training his vocal skills and many of those higher notes are indeed him. Austin has also been known to mimic guitar sounds, most notably in their collaboration with Kenny Rogers in "Children Go Where I Send Thee" and also in Home Free's Christmas carol "Do You Hear What I Hear" They just keep adding as they need new instrument sounds. They never cease to amaze me. Oh to be blessed with such talent!
Muchas Gracias!!! For beiing persistent and listening to us tell you how incredible they are, even when you were skeptical. Love your Friday Home Free days!
Thank you so much for your reaction. I love this one from our guy's. If ever I need a pick me up this is a good go to. Makes me smile and chair dance! Love from South Georgia ♥️😃🍟🔥
Love this one. Thanks for your reaction. You're right, all the guys looked like they were having fun. It was Austin's first lead after almost a year of being restricted to "Oooh"s in a series of slushy ballads, so he must have been ready to let it rip. Adam is beyond amazing.
I grew up on classic rock & am a big fan of the Doobie Brothers & had their albums. "Listen To The Music" was a big hit for them back in 1972. Love that Home Free is keeping this great music alive & introducing it to the younger generation. The guys did a really nice job of this song. Austin was great for the lead & loved the background harmonies of Rob, Chance & Tim's bass. Adam killed it on the vocal percussion again. He always comes up with some new & interesting sounds. Adam is doing the high notes as you can see in the slowed down section.
I don't know why I can't get on the live chat. I never commented a lot but I loved to see people's responses. I love this Listen to the Music. I don't know all about all the right sounds. My husband was the Music Man!! He would've loved this. I can't hardly sit still with this. It will be 3 years on Sunday since my husband went to Heaven. So glad I turned this on. Means he's with me😭😭💔
Hi Leo! Just subscribed to your channel after watching and rewatching your reactions to Home Free's videos. Please consider reacting to their cover of John Meyer's song In the Blood and the Crosby Stills and Nash song Helplessly Hoping. They are exquisite. Chance has some lead vocals in both. You can see our guys larping in their video Brother. Really fun. You've really pointed out alot of what I was missing in the videos while watching on my own. Thank you. Enjoy your week.
Great reaction!! I’m pretty sure that twangy guitar sound you heard was Chance because he does that sound in Meet In The Middle and Can’t Stop The Feeling and that high pitch siren sound was Adam 😊
Great reaction! When this first came out, I was hesitant to listen because the original had such a full sound with all the voices and instruments, plus it was rock. I was quite mistaken; HF did a fantastic job! (Goodness, Adam is literally an alien!)
Absolutely loved the Doobie Brothers when I was younger, but Home Free's upgrade of this song makes me so happy & it brings back so many wonderful memories, anytime a band can do that, it's been an awesome day!! Great reaction, Thanks. 🍟❤️
This is simply excellent again!! I have been a fan of the Doobie Brothers for a long time. This song is just timeless. It still swings. Really something for Home Free. So great sung, so great harmonies, bone-feeling bass, But for me it's Adam who makes it truly phenomenal. He nailed it. The vocal percussion is just inhumane. So unbelievably good. For me the very best beatboxer/vocal percussionist/mouth artist there is. By the way, they recorded this song in a very short time. For example, they asked the fans which Doobie Brothers song they should cover, and I think it came out 2 days later.
I second the nomination of Can't Outrun You, featuring Adam Chance as lead vocal. Here's my personal list of favorite Home Free songs My Church Hillbilly Bone Country Fried Pop Medley Can't Outrun You Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On Blue Ain't Your Color Can't Stop the Feeling
Yeah -- This one is very hard to sort through. Keeping in mind, this is the studio version ... but that doesn't really change things at all. This one "highlights" Adam Rupp for sure; those are his "highs" and the "Lows" (techno/EDM? bass drop) along with the "scratching". Think Chance is on the "guitar" fill-ins. Still amazed with these guys after nearly 8yrs. And the "Sound" they get, Exceptionally Phenomenal - Phenomenally Exceptional Be Safe
I have come to the conclusion that people send Adam random, obscure sounds and dare him to put them in a song. So many times you'll see and hear him putting sounds in that should not even come close to fitting into the song, and they are perfect! A fun one for you might be 9 to 5 beatbox breakdown. It's a live performance! Countrified Pop is another mashup medley, Elvira with the Oak Ridge Boys, American Pie with Don McClean, and God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood and the Airforce band are just a few that'll give you an idea of the wide range of music they cover! Another wonderful! Thank you!
I think Adam is doing a lot of those high notes that sound like guitar. Tim was doing the rumbling low notes. Adam was crazy good though doing the drums, scratching, guitar, high notes. Austin was great too. Good reaction! I subscribed! 😍
Great reaction Leonardo; you're becoming a Home Fry! This is great cover and Home Free makes it look easy. So far you've reacted to songs featuring Austin, Rob and Tim; please add "I Can't Outrun You" to your list, which features Chance, who also designed/directed the video. You'll also get to hear Adam in a back-up vocal harmony role. For Adam, beyond his beatboxing video that many have suggested, you may want to check out their cover of Huey Lewis' "Workin' for a Livin'" or "Ain't Going Down 'Til the Sun Comes Up" (a FaceBook video due to copyright, but you can react to it on RUclips) for some of his amazing no-monica and percussion.
Adam Rupp is a freak of nature - absolutely incredible! So much talent in this group! No star, they work together and they all have a chance to shine 💛🎶💛
These guys can sing anything, they do have so much fun when making the videos. Some of them are on ‘released’ RUclips, they are called ‘’Behind the Vault” , you would get a kick out of them! Reactors have reacted to them also, I believe there are like 19 of them released to the general population at this time!😂😂 So glad you are enjoying them!👏👏
If you ever get a chance to see them live you will have a blast. They are so connected to their audience and in tune with one another. They are definitely next level. If you want another fun fun song, try Love Train. It will get you moving and again, they are having so much fun. They even bring their fans into the video. LOVE these guys.
you were right Adam was doing the high notes, Tim says he has the most range of all of them, Chance was making the wa pedal sounds that is a sound that Austin can do as well
Out of this world ! Your reactions are so informative. You bring so much insightful stuff to your face while listening to HF. Enjoy you very much. Thank you 🎼🔥🎵🔥🎶🔥🦋
Adam, the beat boxer, is doing the way up. I know you question about the 5:10 mark of your video. Watch him specifically, and he makes an upward motion/gesture with his hand when he makes the sound effect going way up high.
Yes 🙌🏼 Love this song. Yes I was busy Hermanito. But I play catch up whenever I miss . I love music from this time era. They did an amazing job! I can’t believe there’s no instruments involved. So cool ❤
Austin might be lead singer here, but Adam totally stole the show! A fun, upbeat song, with really great memories for us old geezers, with a twist only HF can pull off. Loved it so much, makes me all warm and happy inside.
Such an Iconic song and of my times growing up, Home Free did it more than justice and I am 12 days away from their concert, hope this is one of the songs.
You may want to look at one of Adam Rupp’s live solos from their concerts. He is amazing, and you get to see what he does behind the vocals. The one from 2015 he has an orange plaid shirt on. The more recent ones he is standing in front of a loop station, and makes all the sounds. And yes, Adam is singing the really high notes behind Austin.
Leonardo, have you heard the vocal group Acapella’s album’s titled Spirituals? I had to order it from their website because I wanted to hear a better quality of sound. That album is truly amazing! Their version of Swing Low, Sweet Charriot gives me chills. You HAVE to hear it! Thanks for introducing me to this vocal group. They’re amazing!
The Doobie Brothers are notoriously difficult to cover yet these guys nailed it. BTW good job picking out Adam Rupp hitting those high notes most people miss that.

Shame on people who think dumb country peeps can't be professional. It surely must fall in one of the ISM categories.
Now we really hear what a group consisting of 5 basses, 5 tenors, and 5 beatboxers can do.
What a great idea! Don't forget to tell us what happened. I love this version. I'm convinced that Tim must have a standing bass hidden under his shirt to go with Adam's swallowed drum kit.
I would love to hear what the person has to say after you show them Home Free 😁 this is one of my favorites 😍

What a great reaction, thanks so much for
loving the way Home Free covered this song
That's Adam Rupp doing those high tones!! He's a beast! 💕🎶🤯
That's our Freak of Nature up there in the rafters.😊
good call on catching Adam's howl!!!
Great reaction!! I’m pretty sure that twangy guitar sound you heard was Chance because he does that sound in Meet In The Middle and Can’t Stop The Feeling and that high pitch siren sound was Adam 😊
.. and Chance does the nasal 'jaw harp' in Man of Constant Sorrow' which is a similar technique, except obviously a higher tone for this song 👌😉
@@MichaelMollard Yes he did . Chance, Austin and Tim are the string instruments and Adam Drums and all other sound effects
@@LynnRamsay except when you see '9 to 5 breakdown' live, on RUclips 😎
@@MichaelMollard I know I was so amazed by that video

It's often easy to forget -especially with Adam and Tim's performances that there are no instruments in their songs.
Good reaction I like how you broke it down.

I love everything these guys sing. They are the kings of harmony in my opinion.
One of their best!!! Love this one❤️

I absolutely love Home Free and all videos, covers originals.
They are just INSANE with their talent! Good grief, I hear something new every time I hear (and dance) to this one!!!
Rob is the lead singer on the chorus. I think everyone misses that.
Oye papi, estos chicos realmente tienen una gran armonía.

WHAT? YES!
Such an Iconic song and of my times growing up, Home Free did it more than justice and I am 12 days away from their concert, hope this is one of the songs.
One for the algorithm. Cheers!
Thanks for reacting to this one. It's amazing what these guys can do.

Adam Rupp is a genius

Adam's range is sick and often overlooked.
That guitar effect during Adams drum brakedown is Chance, he does the same effect in their cover of Can't stop the felling. Check it out!
Love this❤
I think Adam Rupp should be nominated for an Emmy in one of the instrumental categories!!
The Doobie Brothers are notoriously difficult to cover yet these guys nailed it. BTW good job picking out Adam Rupp hitting those high notes most people miss that.
Just makes you happy there version of CANT STOP THIS FEELING cover by Justin Timberlake will make you happy to enjoy
This song is a "oldy but a goody"
hoplessly hoping
outrageously good. are you sure no instruments?
Warrior by Hannah Kerr, its about 5 years old and probably one of the most amazing Christian songs...Ever. Please give your reactions to it.
I think another 50th year honored.
Talk about Adam's beat boxing, he did with his voice what it took 2 complete drum kits and drummers to do in the Doobies original!
wont go down uil the sun comes up is another fun song
I would like that man from police academ with hime free also. Doing “dead or alive” by bin jovi
