Austin (lead here) and Adam (beatboxer) killed it. This was during Covid so they weren’t even together and I thought the use of tv’s was clever. Watch Adam Rupp Drum Solo (2015). It’s just him and a microphone doing drums….amazing. Newer ones have the looper and not as much drumming. Enjoy!
Here's the thing about HF, they make their fans (fries) feel like everything to them! This is one of their "Quarantine" videos. During lockdown they put out a new video every other Friday. It made us have something to look forward to. And, they cover every genre, plus beautiful & funny originals!
Pretty much the only Austin lead song that I truly like. He kills it! Probably because he isn't doing that nasal thing too often. When he shelves that, he's a great singer.
I think some ladies have claimed they might be pregnant after hearing Austin sing this. I agree Leonardo this is just about a perfect cover of this Percy Sledge 1966 original.
Yes, Austin nailed it. He gives himself completely here and also plays very well with the cameras. The great harmonies, deep bass and the unbelievably freaking good beatboxing/vocal percussion/vocal sounds finish it all off for me. I think it sounds perfect because of all the different beautiful voices. I grew up performing Percy Sledge which I already loved. Then came Michael Bolton's performance where I couldn't say it was better. But this one from Home Free certainly is.
Percy's version was the end-of-dance ritual when I was in high school, so I have a soft sport for it. Bolton's always felt insipid to me. But this is in the running to take over Percy's place.
All I can say is Austin KILLED it and added to the song. This is my favorite version of this song, and Leonardo, I'm playing my drums along with you! lol
Check out Catch Me If You Can. Rob is outstanding. Tim said Rob is the best singer in the group. Also check out Austin's and Rob's Nessun Dorma. Rob is amazing. Austin is a lyric tenor in opera talk. All of Home Free's members are talented beyond belief.
Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I think it is also better than Michael Bolton's version. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. Drummers have often commented on just how realistic his sound is. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group. I think they would do a great job of Bryan Adam's song "Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman"!
God Bless America (with Lee Greenwood) and Helplessly Hoping are great songs with good emotion. An original that always make me smile is Timeless, the video is special on this one very heart warming.
Thanks for the reactions to our favorite guys! For more emotion that Austin can really wring out of every word in a song (lol) check out a couple of his solo performances, Tears in Heaven and Les Mis Bring Him Home. Incredible performances. Bring Him Home he uses his classical training to surprise us all. Unchained Melody by Home Free is worth checking out for sure. So many, many great ones they've done. Take care.
Austin is a master at conveying emotion when he sings. It may come from the fact that he studies Musical Theater in college. He has his own You Tube channel. There is not a bad song on it, but I would start with the two best, Bring Him Home and Unchained Melody and then get your tissues ready for Tears in Heaven and Danny Boy.
Sorry I missed the premier. I was busy. But I'm watching it now.. I think this is in the top 3 of my favorites by home free. It's really good. Was reading the chat.. love that Ezekiel loves this song and dancing in Erika's belly.. 🥰
You and your beautiful wife should have a dance to this. A beautiful song, performed flawlessly by them. I thought no one could beat Michael Bolton. I think I was wrong. Well, it’s just a different sound. Great song! A favorite for decades! 🎶
Please react to "I Can't Outrun You" to hear some outstanding background harmonies, and Chance slaying the lead!! 🎶❤ OMG, the song is so good, and the video was stunning. You just have to see it. 💕👍 Another great one that hardly any reactors notice, for some reason, is "Woman, Amen/Female!! I think you'd really like it. Adam absolutely kills the percussion and all the others have great verses. The lyrics are great. 💕😍
I know he was singing to his beautiful lady in the studio but he really is teaching how to flirt with the camera and make your audience fall in love . It didn't take much for me as I have loved his voice since the first time I heard him sing "Unchained Melody." You should check out the solo he did on this one . Fantastic 🎵. 🥰
Hi Leonardo, love your reactions. On End of the Road I agree that I would have liked to hear Rob hit it harder in the beginning. However, in his defense, if you've listened to any of Elvis Presley's songs, a lot of the time he'll start out a little lighter and build with each verse to a crescendo. I have a feeling that maybe that is what Rob was doing. He started out softer and then wanted to end with a stronger push. That's just my opinion. And yes, the guys killed this one. Austin had it goin on.
I agree that is probably what they were going for and they did a great job. The thing is it’s all subjective. We all like and even love things that others don’t. Especially when it comes to music. There is very little my wife and I agree about when it comes to music. Didn’t mean she is wrong or that I am “right” just we have different preferences.
Didn't get my notification so sorry I'm late. I knew you'd like this one (Austin's girlfriend is in the studio to help "bring out those emotions"). Great reaction, I am a little lost as to what song to direct you to next as they are all so good imo but are you wanting to hear a different lead singer, heavier beat boxing, plain out funny with still great sound?!? See my dilemma..... I like Helplessly Hoping cover CSN arranged by Chance I think. Mainly have FUN!
Home Free has been such a great gift to all of us--especially their extra efforts in providing us with excellent music/videos throughout quarantine and the difficult days of isolation we all dealt with during the pandemic. Their creativity in producing the "quarantine" videos--and their commitment to continuing to provide new entertainment throughout (even though they weren't even in the same state!)--has brought along many HF converts. Got to ❤️❤️❤️ Home Free!!
Love this!! Another great one to check out would be there cover of “Make You Feel My Love.” Not only did they do a great job as usual, but the video is hilarious too.
Absolutely feel seduced, but Sir Percy will always hold 1st place in my heart because it was the first time this song invaded my soul. Sentiment for my first love, but aces for Home Free & Austin's version. Great honest reaction as usual and yes your face says it all.
Austin kills this his voice is so AWSOME a think this is better than the original just the end where he really takes out all his voice GOOSBUMP ALL OVER 💞💞💞💞😥😥💞💞
In my opinion Austin is more attentive than most singers when it comes to finding the emotional heart of a song. That said, part of the emotional magic was that his girlfriend - maybe fiancee, I not sure - was in the studio with him during the recording.
So, you like feelings. Get ready, Home Free has over 200 videos for you to react to; across many genres. So feelings from Austin. Creator Ressurectsis has original music that Austin sings for her. She said she chose him because he is a tenor that sings feelings. Her songs sung by Austin: Empty House, I Want Her Back, The Bed. He has many solos on his own RUclips channel; Bring Him Home, Signed Sealed Delivered, At Last, Tears in Heaven to name just a few. Check out his solo of Unchained Melody. Tim also has many solos on his RUclips channel where he sings Do Wop style
To me, the defining characteristic of Austin's performance is joy. I always hated Bolton's version because he made it sound like he hated love and resented women. Austin, having finally found his soulmate, is gladly able to take the risks of giving your life over to someone else, and this comes over so clearly here. This performance, together with the body of work on Austin's own channel, marked his arrival as a real power tenor to be reckoned with. He has also emerged as a talented songwriter (we already knew his skilful arrangements)and there are great videos of his originals on his channel. The latest album is mostly originals, a lot by Austin (and mostly about or to his lady, the most important thing in his life). If you want emotion, check out Save the World, charting Austin's own redemption through love, and using his darker lower register to great dramatic effect. The song and video are interesting as well because they mark the band's willingness to make drastic changes to what we have come to expect, as they transition from country covers to exciting new material.
You should check out their awesome cover of Patsy Clines "Crazy", Austin nails it. If you want to hear a great cover featuring Rob, he takes the lead on Keith Urbans "Blue Ain't Your Color", it's really good.
Austin did a great job on this rendition. For a great take on a classic try out their rendition of Unchained Melody. In my opinion it’s the most unique spin on a song that’s been covered many, many times. I think I like it better than Bobby Hatfield’s iconic version.
Austin did as well as ANYONE could do on this one! AND, Rob KILLED "End of the Road"! KILLED IT! Even the BTM guys were proud of it! Like many, not very happy with your "judgement" of Rob, as I KNOW you, nor I, can sing as well as he does. But, you are entitled to your opinion. But, it's a good way to be "honest" AND lose viewers at the same time. Better way to do it.
What are you rambling about? He was super respectful. He merely said he thought Robs performance lacked the emotion of the song in the first half of the song. He didn’t have to be able to sing as well as Rob to have an opinion about the performance. What a ridiculous idea. He even said Robs performance was technically great. He just wanted the emotion that was present at the beginning to be there the entire song. You can disagree which is fine. It’s a subjective opinion. But, it's a good way to be "honest" AND lose viewers at the same time. So are you saying that you only watch videos if you completely agree with an opinion? What a narrow view point. That is what we call an echo chamber. That’s a good way to never grow or learn anything new
@@mjsabie8517 And who are you to lecture me? And speaking of "rambling", you certainly did your share! Then you asked and answered your own question; "...only watch videos if you completely agree..." Then assumed your own answer and put me in your frame! Nice of you to come to his defense, but my comments were directed to him, not you. The funny part is that you are upset with me disagreeing with him, although I have a right to do so, then jumping me bc you disagree with me! Pot and kettle. I'm not new, by any means, to reaction videos. As many as I've watched, it's quite easy to tell when someone is being over critical.

Rob did sing END OF THE ROAD great, but he sang it smoothly and then Austin contrasted with the dramatic. That was the arrangement HF went with. Leonardo just stated that the story Rob was telling called for more expression which Rob did deliver in spades, but only at the end. Their cover of “Go Rest High on That Mountain” is a good example of Rob being emotional as well.
Chills & thrills 🙃😳😵💫❤️🎵🎶‼️
