I lost my 18 year old son this past January. Loosing your child is the most painful thing that could happen to any parent. I often journaled with the first 2 words saying “ DEAR GOD” I often think back and wish I had a do over. My son was so amazing I wish I could change that fatal night. I know hay I will see him again. God has walked with me through every part of this horrible journey. I am blessed to have God always there to pick up the pieces and continue life, even when your broken. Thank you for this song. Love God trust God and follow God.

I hope you don't mind my input here. First, thank you for sharing this reaction. As I watched the beginning, I started out thinking that if this is a Letter to God, there is no "work" we can ever do, other than accepting Christ and Living for Him, that would be pleasing to God. Then, the response from God to us as His children; that one just hit HOME. You see, I was adopted at birth. The parents that raised me; mother was a registered medical secretary and worked upwards of 40 hours a week, and my father was an attorney that worked upwards of 60 hours a week. Both were alcoholics and when I was 10 years old they divorced. My father moved to north Georgia and my mother and I stayed in the metro Chattanooga area. My father was around but not always sober so, I virtually cut him out of my life, especially as I got older. The response from God was the letter that I always wish I had received from my father, but never did. Growing up, I was bullied (until I beat the crap out of one of those bully's and started weight training), my father's nickname for me was "stupid". Even after he found me reading one of his college books on Torts (personal injury) when I was I think 9 years old. He wanted me to be like him and an attorney too. There is so much more I could write here, but the crux of my comment is: Be certain to tell everyone that matters to you how much you love them and that you are proud of their personal accomplishments.
I broke down to tears when the second part of the song..."Dear child..." I'm not born as a Christian, my belief before is you can't call God as Father, and you have to work your way to go to heaven..pray and fasting and do good deeds. But God saved me when I was 19 years old. It has been an interesting and amazing journey with God, now I'm 38 years old. And to be honest, there's a time I felt like giving up but God didn't allow that to happen. This song is exactly what I am feeling. Thank you Jesus! Teach me to love you like you have loved me. And His mercy and grace are unconditional. It's not based on what we do or deserve because we are not worthy. He gives it freely out of love because He is love and He can. We are to love others in the same way, whether they deserve it or appreciate it. But it's hard because we are not God. Thankfully He is right there with us through it all. It was my first time hearing it too 😭 "As you wipe your tears away" 😂 But for me rather than trying to please others it was about constantly fighting my own mind, trying to be pleasing in God's eyes, trying to get rid of the doubts and thoughts, and the moment he said "Dear child" ahh 😭😂 It reminded me that to keep trying, that He knows of these things in my head and it doesn't change His love for me ,and He will never leave me nor forsake me

Reminds me so so much of my 22 yr old son who just passed away from a drunk driver.. he loved the lord so so much no matter how many times he stubbles, his heart was first for God and I know that’s why God took him home to be with him so he wouldn’t have to try to recover from such a horrible accident that he was a passenger in.

I watched your RUclips channel last night for the first time. I love it! The songs you played are songs that have been part of my healing journey , especially this last year. I went through stage four breast cancer. The music I was listen to ,brought so much comfort to me. I felt God's present and I knew I wasn't alone that I was going to be OK. So much Love , Comfort and Joy I feel through the the words of those songs. My radio station is "Christian Rock 106.5". I live in Washington State. One of my favorite songs is "Relentless Love" I break down in tears over the words and the song itself ,Like you did last night😊 I'm so bless to discover on your RUclips channel I thank you very much .. from now on I'll be listening to you.
