I have a deep connection to this song. It was the first piece of classical music I listened to when I was still a little girl. Every time I listen to Valentina's interpretation of it it's breathtaking
I have been playing the piano for 55 years. Quite terribly, I might add. But I know talent when I hear it. I have been listening to Valentina and always manage to find my way back to her after straying to hear so many others who are magnificent in their own right, but who will never be what Valentina is. And then those moments of joy, excitement, a free-spirit. You reach that pivotal point when suddenly, your lost. Tumbling, confused, in a whir of emotion. My girlfriend and I just broke up. I was listening to some nice modern songs to help release some emotion, but nothing major was happening besides some slight teary eyes. Then I typed in this song and played it through. I had to go get a paper towel to wipe the tears of my keyboard. I find it remarkable that Chopin, without lyrics, was able to convey love through song more successfully than any other artist I had listened to. But then again, Chopin's not just an artist. He's a composer.
I adore Valentina Lisitsa and her art. Rather than harshly pounding the keyboard, she uses her graceful hands to lovingly caress the keys as she ever so lovingly expresses the music within her soul. She is a total joy to watch and to listen to.

I absolutely love your interpretation of this piece. The dissonant section at 2:16 is played quickly enough so that it doesn't last too long as to spoil the mood of the piece. Jimmy Featherstone it's a Bosendofer!? next in line would be Bechstein but I personally prefer Bosendofer over it.
The Bosendorfer is doing just fine. It's the acoustic space that would interfere with an instrument of this calibre.
