If Valentina is ever taught Pai Mei's Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique, she could kill a entire battalion of soldiers before they even knew that they were dead.
Lol! I played Hungarian no. 2 as a Freshman in high school at music festival. My brother played this as a Junior. I couldn't get across in 9 minutes, what only took him a minute and a half to do. I quit, he still plays. Lol☹️
@Alexander Scriabin bro at some point .....flashy is also nice you know....when you start playing things like this lol....( Btw I'm actually learning this and I love it ) have a nice one !!
@Alexander Scriabin Nice to meet you Alex, you're one of my heroes, and I think you've gotten WAY to little attention from the greater public. Actually thought you died from shaving.... but there you go, even that - fake news... love your Etude, C# minor, Op. 2 no. 1... one of the most romantic pieces ever written.... and never played better than by Horowitz... or maybe yourself but I have not heard that on record.... Happy to know you're all right...
On my first class, I asked my piano teacher if he could play me something by Chopin. He played this flawlessly. From that moment I knew he was to teach me.
This piece is EXTREMELY difficult to play and takes lots of practice. Especially if playin' that fast!! I'm seriously amazed; never was able to play that fast. Maybe one day... And just look at the amount of views... Last time I checked it was like at 10'000... It surely does deserve this amount of views. excellent performance and all!
Timasty i wouldn't put this in the extremely difficult category, i would say moderately difficult. I've only been playing 17 years and after just a few hours practice I can safely say this piece will take me 2 or 3 days to learn and is not too difficult at all
@@2inchfromtheground If you can play it after 3 days practice, you are a genius. Few people play this. I saw other video of this, you can watch on Internet, pianist is UMi Garrett.
how did Chopin manage to create (as well as play) this piece in his own time, is one thing ... how people like this lady manage to play it today is another! and both are equally intriguing!
I can play this piece at about a third the speed and about 50% accuracy and that's about 50 hours of practice, so yeah, even with as many hours into this piece, I still can't make sense of this performance!
your comment is confusing choping creating and playing being one thing, but a professional pianist already learning it? how is that even more surprising? literally the fact chopin even had the guts to make something like this is beyond me ;_;
Keep in mind that Chopin, along with Liszt and Beethoven, is considered one of the greatest pianists in history. Also, as an etude, you can assume that he wrote this piece to challenge himself and push his own ability to new heights. So yes, it is rightfully absurdly hard.
I wouldn't be surprised if Lisitsa was one of the pianists who practices the most. I think she's a great pianist to be looking at if one wants to learn technique too - in one interview she said he usually practices around 8 hours a day or more. Lisitsa has two recordings (that I know of) of Rachmaninoff's Little Red Riding Hood etude in youtube - in the poorer quality one you can see her left hand movement ard 1:12 mark ruclips.net/video/tVuP1BjbhAg/видео.html Superhuman.
Valentina Lisitsa in my opinion you are one of the most exceptional and amazing pianists the world has ever seen. I admire you and your passion about music/about the piano. Exceptionally good work. You have made a difference. I wish you the best of luck in your personal and professional life. :)
I am not joking when I say this. I legit tried to hit the wrong notes as fast as Yuja Wang after I saw her performance of Rachmaninovs 3rd concerto and failed..
@@thibomeurkens2296 that's cuz theres a line to it of u get what I mean random is just impossible because its random no fingering haven't practiced it or anything and u excpect to play it quickly
For some reason I think wrong notes are actually harder to play fast. When you get scales and arpeggios and beat then into your brain, it's almost instinctual. Not to mention, you PRACTICE right notes, which allows you to play at increased tempos. You don't practice wrong notes. So it's only natural to actually play them slower. Regardless, she does monster through this piece. I've performed this and I only play it like 75 or 80% as fast. It took me roughly like 2:17 to play this. I could never play it this fast and this accurate.
@garyallen8824 Actually he left Russia and never came back. There was no Polish state then and the occupiers fought intensively against Polish culture. The same fate befell many Polish artists and scientists.

Anyways, thanks, Valentina, for not deleting this Chopin etude series so I can retrospect my good old memories. :)
It's a wonderful thing for someone to perform these etudes with such virtuosity and Valentina is absolutely GREAT but we must never forget the GENIUS of the composer who made this possible. Chopin's " ETUDES" which were meant as exercises to prepare the pianist to be able to play his really HARD compositions are incredible and wonderful " HIT " tunes in their own right...every single one of them and it is this unique quality which makes every finished pianist at this level sound so good. I love to watch her finger movements. It's very smooth and she plays with ease, which shows a lot of profession.
lots and lots of practice paired with proper technique, leads to the muscle memory that makes it look easy.
