    I just wanted to say, I have been painting for several years now and have wasted a ton of $$ on paint products! You are the ONLY one that mentions anything about the binders and amount of water to use and I wanted to thank you for this! This is a game changer for me and will save me tons!

    Wow. Stunning and I so grateful to come across your site. Subscribed 😊. QUESTION: I’m new to this acrylic pouring and recipe ratios so when you say you used 60:40 …are you saying you 60% paint to 40% water?? And how come yo got such beautiful cells without using a cell activator like silicone oil? Lastly, what was the ratio recipe for the base mixture before you applied the colors? Thanks a lot in advance if you don’t mind sharing 😊

    • @LaurenMichelleArt

      Thank you! Yes 60% paint 40% water. Using metallic paint helps to get cells, it likes to rise to the surface. I use paint density, so I blow the white (heavier) over the metallic (lighter) and it forms cells. The base is the same 60:40 paint to water. Thank you for watching 😊

    Beautiful. I've tried and tried and can never get the cells. I don't have a blow torch. Does the blow torch activate the cells? Maybe the paint is not thin enough. I have a score of attempted failures. Guess I'll just keep watching and trying.

    love your work. I'm new and having problems with my base paint. What brand do you use and how thin do you mix it?

    • @LaurenMichelleArt
      @LaurenMichelleArt  Год назад

      Thank you! For most of my paintings I use Amsterdam standard paint for the colors and Pebeo for the metallics. The base is Amsterdam titanium white and there is about 55-60% paint, the rest water 😊

    Pebeo is so thin how did you manage to use the same water amount for am
    Amsterdam and Pebeo is that and error in your description?

    • @LaurenMichelleArt
      @LaurenMichelleArt  9 месяцев назад

      Hi! The 60/40 is just a rough estimate and a starting place. Each paint will be slightly different based on brand and even colors within the same brand. My Pebeo was pretty close to 60/40 but if you’re finding it’s too thin then definitely just add less water and try to match the consistency to your Amsterdam paints. 🤗

    How did you get the cells? I use paint and water only but I never get any 😣

    • @LaurenMichelleArt
      @LaurenMichelleArt  Год назад +1

      I’m using Amsterdam colors and Pebeo metallics..they both create beautiful cells. What kind of paint are you using? It’s ok to use floetrol or other pouring mediums to help get cells too.

      @@LaurenMichelleArt thanks for answering Lauren....I am a traditional painter and I wanted to try this tecnique....I bought my paints at the local artshop where I found a french company making paints for pouring art but out of silicone and so I tried to do without while I wait for the new stock to arrive...I am in Italy and fluid art is not very.common....I guess the brand Amsterdam is the one I should buy but I do not like to buy anything from Amazon as it killed the business for our local shops 🤥

      Thank you Sylwia! No cracking, Amsterdam and Pebeo hold up pretty well with just water. If you’re using a lower quality or craft paint then you’ll definitely need a binder 🤗

    • @LaurenMichelleArt
      @LaurenMichelleArt  Год назад

      Thank you, I’m happy it’s been helpful for you! Yes it’s fine to eyeball it, it doesn’t have to be perfect, and you don’t have to use a scale. If you had a scale, you would put the cup on the scale, then zero it out (so you don’t see the weight of the cup) and then add the paint / pouring medium / water. I think sometimes eyeballing is better since different brands of paint and even different colors in the same brand can require different amounts of water. Just make all your colors the same consistency so they all flow evenly at the same rate. 🤗
