Unfortunately according to the fan probably the original films were destroyed due to only being need just to transfer to VHS so this is probably the only reel we would see from the original serie
this is a god awful what looks to be AI "restoration" the 60 frames is not only unnecesary as the original framerate was fine and worked way better than smooth movements but it was also done super poorly and creates alot of artifacts. same goes for the upscaling and shoddy colour work

Plus, Slimer's much more antagonistic like he was in the 1984 film than he would later become as the series mascot. Also, it's odd to see them once again roast Stay Puft when he literally saved them earlier during the melee. I mean, it's not as if androgynous Gozer the Destructor is in control of the giant marshmallow brand mascot ghost anymore, so aside from being too big for his own good, why bother trapping Stay Puft in a ghost zone inside the containment unit with several evil ghosts?
Looks like someone took an earlier export of my restoration. I made adjustments before submitting my final edit to SONY for their 35th Anniversary Blu Ray steelbook set. I found the original FILM MASTER and restored it personally. Each frame was scanned at 1920x1080. I painstakingly edited and cleaned each damn frame and then color-corrected.
I knew this video was odd because I know you have previously worked on it and sent into Sony. I appreciate your work and your amazing GB collection. You rule, Bobby80s!!!
You are a rockstar! Thank you so much for painstakingly restoring the promo. My video was just a fun experiment to see if A.I can take the restoration process even further. It did bring back some more detail (especially in environments/buildings and sharpened all of the linework) It also removed some noise/artifacts that would have taken forever to paint out manually. But thank you again for doing the heavy lifting. I did not know a 1080p version existed anywhere. The only version of your restored video I could find was in 480p.
@@jakemathew thanks for updating the description. you used an earlier version of my restoration and websites like to compress and weaken the quality when uploading. i have never used the programs you did. i used photoshop to clean up each damn frame 1 by 1. then nested in premiere and color-corrected each individual scene. which can be enjoyed on the 35th anniversary blu ray set i spoke of. if you pause at random spots in your video, theres distortion/smudges like at 2:24, 1:11, 2:02 etc...... idk what tat AI did but it needs another cycle of processing. i dont mind if ppl tinker with this. it was inevitable. but thank you for updating the description to at least acknowledge where you got your starting point and if i were u i would try to rip the blu ray version. i was just getting pissy cuz apparently theres still fans out there that have no clue of my contribution and they see this thinking someone else did it all.

This AI tech really needs to be used on most classic cartoons to fix all their animation errors. Imagine a remastered version of the original G1 Transformers were most if not all their animation errors were fixed, hope Hasbro gets on it.
I imagine in this version of the show. Slimer would be a reoccurring random ghost they constantly keep capturing that would be in the opening or even help out other villain ghosts

I don't know how you edited the video to 4K, however, whatever you're doing, it's definitely the right way. The sharpness, colours and tint are excellent.
Why is Slimer attacking the Ghostbusters? From what I remember, he was a friend to them. The '84 movie had Slimer eating someone's dinner in the hallway and Ray Stantz blasts him towards Peter, who gets slimed. In the '89 movie, Slimer is caught eating Louis' lunch and then, driving a bus. I don't remember him being that evil from this Promotional extended song.
This video was a pilot that the animation studio created as a proof of concept for the look and feel for a potential ghostbusters show. This was made before the cartoon series was made. Probably a studio exec said that they wanted to make Slimer friendly in the show so they can sell toys. The look of the ghostbusters also slightly changed from this pitch video. And obviously they have colored suits in the show.

The cartoon made him a friend to them. In the original movie he was just a nasty ghost. Not outright evil but definitely not good. They put him in ghostbusters 2 helping Louis because the cartoon at the time was popular and he was considered a good guy at that point. Personally found slimer annoying and wish they kept him a troublemaker as he's depicted in this pilot

You know this concept pilot has an almost retro anime feel to it. I know most Saturday morning cartoons outsourced their animation to Korea or Japan and most intros have the best animation in their respective series. So I guess some concept pilots also have great animation.
This is really great and I love it im just not 100% a fan of a few small changes like the ghost trap is different and just little things like the jumpsuits are like in the movie not the real Ghostbusters cartoon. Anyways amazing work whoever did this. 🚫👻👍✌

This is Awesome! I really wish they kept Slimer like he is depicted here. A nasty troublemaker like he was in the original movie. instead of trying to make him cute and friendly. Which got annoying to me after a while
Looks good, but something about it is a little _too_ good if that makes sense. The saturated colors and the ultra-smooth framerate make it look almost like a recreation rather than a restoration. I've been experimenting with Topaz AI and the old episodes, and what I've found is that upscaling to 4K, but keeping the original framerate while adding noise or grain, really helps to keep the picture looking like it's from the 1980s. The results can be seen on my channel.
Yours is good, but I want the show from the 80s. Not the technical restrictions of the time. I want a smooth, as grainless as possible experience. I want to feel like I'm there.
So the only thing i gathered from the pilot was that they were on a case, slimer causing them to split up, and winston and egon getting chased slimer and the ghost gang, while peter and ray has some ghost problems of their own. Then they get back together again as well as the ghosts cornering them, just for slimer to bitch out and abandon staypuft and his new pals, just for all the ghosts to all Pathetically go out like little bitches.
Lower FPS was just a limitation of the time. 60 FPS is more realistic and higher quality, and it's not even a film. More and more films and TV shows are being shown in faster frame rates. People just need to get over their conditioning that 24 FPS = cinematic.

So the only thing i gathered from the pilot was that they were on a case, slimer causing them to split up, and winston and egon getting chased slimer and the ghost gang, while peter and ray has some ghost problems of their own. Then they get back together again as well as the ghosts cornering them, just for slimer to bitch out and abandon staypuft and his new pals, just for all the ghosts to all Pathetically go out like little bitches.
You can till this was modelled after the 1986 movie directly.
Their uniforms are brown and slimer is a bad guy.

This is great but could you just do a 25 FPS version so it looks more cinematic. As the the 60 FPS looks like doo doo
I have an alternate version of this video with the original framerate on my channel.
Lower FPS was just a limitation of the time. 60 FPS is more realistic and higher quality, and it's not even a film. More and more films and TV shows are being shown in faster frame rates. People just need to get over their conditioning that 24 FPS = cinematic.
