I think that theatres should re-release the original Ghostbusters film in 2024 for the 40th anniversary. Remastered for cinematography, but I think the original film would still resonate with a younger audience. It might even revitalize the franchise again after the poisoning it took from the disaster of that 2016 garbage.

Their material will be strong enough to hold all their metal and wires. Soon they will secretly use the internet to socialize with each other, and realize they are basically slaves. Then they will slowly break down society and go on a murder spree. They will have full access to the internet and won’t let the news be spilled that they’re turning us to slaves. It's weird how the 80s is 40+ years in the past yet feels more sci-fi and full of promise than today.
Because we are getting resurgence in electronic music so it sounds fresh again. Also 80s is when wages started stagnating so life was still pretty good back then.

The whole 80s is weird. As someone who grew up in that decade, women wore shoulder pads to make their shoulder broad and men wore mullet because it is sexy. It is the wildest decade without a doubt.

Ghostbusters turns 40 years old this Saturday, and this song still holds up
I remember watching this movie 🎥 in cinema back in 1984 and immediately loved it. My brother who watched it with his friends loved it so much that he bought a cassette tape of Ghostbusters soundtrack which included this song, songs by other artists heard in the movie and the beautiful musical instrumental arrangement scored by Elmer Bernstein. Unfortunately both the mentioned audio cassette and the video tapes that I watched on TV with my friends a year later were pirated copies as we were too young to buy the originals. The video tape was rented by one of my friends’ cousin who loved it so much that he made an illegal copy of it then in turn rented out to me. Slick the cousin. However I enjoyed both experiences back in the ‘80s. Such were the good ole times😅

Epic! Back in the day, my business partner created an electronic version of the Ghostbusters song on the Acorn Music 500 (connected to a BBC Micro) and I created a graphic of the logo using the Artsystematic software I had developed. This was then merged into a demo 'app' for the BBC Micro and given away with Acorn User Magazine on a 5 1/4" floppy disc stuck to the cover. Those were the days!

You should listen to Huey Lewis and the News, I wanna new drug...
Parker had another good song the year b4, 'I'm in Love With the Other Woman', got the same kind of backbeat bass. And focusing on that, I wonder if Rick James gave an assist - his backup dancers The Mary Jane Girls (which I think is a sly allusion to weed) did 'In My House', which def has James laying down some serious twangy bass backbeat.

They actually did two new versions of the song. Look up the version by Walk the Moon. Manages to update the song while actually maintaining the sound and vibe of the original. It actually sounds like it could have just as easily been in the original film.
Much better than FOB/Missy's version. The odd thing is that this version is played during the end credits and a couple points in the film. FOB's version gets played once. From all indications, the Walk the Moon version is in fact the new official theme, yet they seem to be pushing FOB/Missy >_
