I got to meet Dan Aykroyd at the CNN building in Hollywood, early 2000's and I just stopped dead in my tracks and just couldn't believe it. Then he said you alright? I said yes. Pause then said I loved you Ghostbusters, one of my all time fave experiences for movies as a kid and then added Blues Brothers. Got to talk to him for 5 minutes. Can't believe he made time for me. Such a nice guy. Later at a con got to meet Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weave, Annie Potts, sadly I never got to meet Harold Ramis :( Egon was the heart and soul of the Ghostbusters. Gone but never forgotten! Sorry for the paragraph, but Ghostbusters is special to me.

when I was elementary school student(maybe first or second grade), we watched the movie Gostbusters at Kobe city theater,Japan with my father and brother.
I have remembered about the tender memories..
on those days, we used to watch Never Ending Story with my parents and bro, sister at Tokyo city theater.
Sounds like fantastic memories. I have a similar memory seeing Jurassic Park with my family when I was young. Always hold onto those memories friend.

I think that theatres should re-release the original Ghostbusters film in 2024 for the 40th anniversary. Remastered for cinematography, but I think the original film would still resonate with a younger audience. It might even revitalize the franchise again after the poisoning it took from the disaster of that 2016 garbage.

This song brings SO much memories to me!! I was born 1990 but grew up with this song in my head. My brothers were 80s babies. I had the honor to work at Madame Tussauds display in NYC with the Ghostbusters presentation back in 2015. But the 80s was amazing and What a time to be ALIVE, to be a teenager, to experience life. I always say the 80s was the best decade. I remember taking the rotary phone and literally trying to dial Ghostbusters. Thank you for the timeless memories!!!

It seems we know that three celebrities who made a cameo in this music video, passed away. John Candy died in Durango while filming Wagons East in 1994 at age 43 due to a heart attack. In 2011, Peter Falk died in Beverly Hills at age 83 due to pneumonia. Recently, just one and a half years ago, in the fall of 2022, Irene Cara died of atherosclerosis and a hypertensive heart disease in her home in Largo, FL near Tampa at the age of 63. They actually did two new versions of the song. Look up the version by Walk the Moon. Manages to update the song while actually maintaining the sound and vibe of the original. It actually sounds like it could have just as easily been in the original film.
Much better than FOB/Missy's version. The odd thing is that this version is played during the end credits and a couple points in the film. FOB's version gets played once. From all indications, the Walk the Moon version is in fact the new official theme, yet they seem to be pushing FOB/Missy >_

That tribute to the original Ghostbusters in Afterlife bought a tear into my eye. My family and I saw the movie on Harold Ramis' birthday. It was a good way to celebrate on what would've been his 77th birthday. We loved the movie!

Same man, when I watched the ending of afterlife I cried a bucket of tears. Harold Ramis was my favorite ghostbuster and I was absolutely heartbroken when I found out he died. So the ending where Egon's soul is finally at peace followed by the tribute to Harold Ramis makes me cry man. Breaks me everytime I watch that movie

After actually understanding the lyrics when I grew up and learned English I got to wondering if indeed there was some improvisation during the peformance of the actual song. There is no way someone thought long and hard on the lyrics before deciding upon, "Lemme tell you something... bustin' makes me feel good!"

I love this. I’ve read comments about the Bobby Brown song On Our Own from Ghostbusters 2 and people said they remember being in the theatre when this song came on at the end of the movie and people stayed there and danced to it. Iconic.
I was born in the 90s but I feel like I know everything about the 80s, I too did a little dance at the end of the new movie and with everything in the new movie it just felt nostalgic, since Ghostbusters was and is always going to be one of my favorites. Sometimes I quote the old movie and I even do the Ecto 1 noise, I also teared up when I saw Harold on the screen sharing the moment with the other three.
Me and two other guys got up and did the dance from the end of the cartoon when this started playing in the movie.

I wasn’t born in the 80s or lived through it, I’m quite young actually, I’m planning on watching the original ghostbusters movies although I’ve seen the newest and I was doing the 2014 just dance dance to the theme. I did also tear up when the og ghostbusters came into the move though I have no correlation with them.

Some sounds are very typical 80´s but done with unique twist and perfection that its timeless, also perfectly captures the vibes of the movie.
A lot of today's songs sample bits and pieces of 80's music so they seem more current than they actually are.
