I like the small size of this device and the hardware that it has. I really appreciate the gimbal system on main camera for steady footages and that it supports 4K at 30 or 60fps at all cameras. Nice job Asus.
your photo composition and use of lighting is better than all the other zenfone 9 video reviewers, which better represents real world performance and uses. thank you. (the other reviewers have no idea; they overemphasise the importance of zoomed in photo detail...shoot with an actual camera if that is your concern. most in the real world will just shoot to share on social media or group chats, and your video highlights how the zenfone 9 will perform in that context much better). thanks again.
the chin and top are too big, so even though it's 5.9" in size, there are smaller phones with bigger usable displays e.g. Galaxy S22 has a 6.1" display, but is also shorter and thinner than this zenphone 9

It really does looks like you're using a gimbal. But the photos is not very good. I like the form factor,and design, and the 8+gen1. Almost a perfect phone.
Camera and stabilization were a beast on pixel 1, 2 was good and 3 was OK but the dual front facing camera was awesome. After that. They didn't surprise anymore
Asus Zenfone 9 has hit that sweet spot interms of phone size of 5.9". Not to big and not too small. I like the gimble mechanism of the phone providing that stablized shot when shooting those vlogs.
Just got myself a Pixel 5 used because there were No small good alternatives. I probably would have gotten this Phone. I Just Wish they would include longer Software Support :/ I hope this Starts a Trend for more smaller good phones to be available in the market
Asus still have bad reputation for terrible software update... Look at "snapdragon insider phone" that will cost u $1500 maintained by asus... They have skipped many month security update... Until last week they update... But breaks some google feature like google pay.. :))
This one is really good phone, they also provide free high quality case out of box along with charger which is rarely we get nowadays except cheap case from other manufacturer. The only downside for me is the camera quality & software update which is only 2 year they will support for this phone, with this kind of price, it's hard for me to upgrade from my S22 even it have mediocore battery life but the build quality, camera & software update are unmatched in android world right now, great video BTW
Big screen size is overrated. I've been using Xiaomi 12 as my daily driver and I will never go back to big screen phones anymore. In fact, this video made me want to buy the Zenfone 9, except for one big drawback, and it's the charging speed. Xiaomi (and BBK) spoiled me with fast charge tech. I literally never leave my phone to charge overnight anymore as it only took a short shower to juice up my phone for a full day of use and then some. If the Zenfone 10 comes with 60+ watt charging, I will get it next year. Good video Ben as always.
@@vii1155 2 months now. It gets warm, especially playing games like diablo immortal but it's acceptable. At least I didn't get (yet) overheating warning like last time I used Samsung S8.
@@kiddcisco I keep my devices for at least 2-3 years. Being able to then sell it and the next owner to still have another year or two of support is a good thing.
I got rid of the jitters by Simply turning off the EIS part. Even if it is now only half stabilised and only hand shake gets fixed with OIS only, I just can't take those jitters.

How are the photos like in comparison to the Galaxy S10e? I want to upgrade since mine broke last week. I am a bit hesitant tho because of only 2 years of security updates.
If you're okay with battery life on S10e, I think you should also consider S22 which is have a bit better battery life compared to S10e, their size & price almost same as this Zenfone 9 but you got like 5 years software update

Ben, got a question to ya. How would say sony imx766 sensor stacks up against cameras found inside huawei p30 pro? Would you say that sony's sensor is able to beat p30 pro in terms of photo quality regardless of the phone it is used within? Imx766 is found in many phones these days (including flagship like oppo find x5 pro) and I'm looking for a upgrade, and I wouldn't like have phone that takes worse photos than my p30 pro.
Hey! I’ve just bought this phone and tried taking pictures in RAW+jpg mode, but in the gallery it only displays the jpg. How does one access the RAW file?
This phone si the best thing happened to android so far this year. There shud be more 5.9" to 6" phones with flagship chips. If this becomes a thing, companies will figure out a way to improve battery and cooling within this size. Necessity is the mother of invention.
@@manzfishing6531 Sony doesn't take its phone business seriously. Its not available in many countries, software support, maintenance service network etc are all issues once you buy a sony phone.
@@atorbtech so basicaly a phone must have a good service centre to be a good phone, every single phone a manufacture have this issue differently in every country, and how come i must go to service centre when the phone is working fine, the point is sony phone works.

Looks like a phone designed by people who actually used this phone, loved that they have made the UI such that it is easily operated by one hand.

i can imagine having gimbal on telephoto too though. but since this phone does not have a telephoto lens its good

I feel 20/30 watts charging is enough where it charges 4000mha battery in almost an hour.
Love this device. Hate Asus' lack of support. 2 years? Not a chance I'd spend $800 for that when I can get 5 years with Samsung.

Almost perfect small phone. I'd probably prioritized a brighter screen with LPTO and a 7 gen 1 chip instead. Screen brightness is so important.
