Cool improvement! I was thinking a new strategy to improve your 3 lap record, you can use 2 mushroom on the 3rd lap, one shroom instead of 2 on the 00:10 jump, and save a second mushroom for the last jump to the plane, at first lap you can complete it shroomless fastest possible and collect all possible coins to gain more speed for lap 2 and 3, so using one mushroom for the jump on the second lap, and 2 shrooms for the 3rd lap for reaching the arrival early Maybe for the lap 1 will be slower but lap 2 and 3 will be faster
The first 3 lap TASes using this strategy did that (although the glider cut at the end didn't exist yet), but it'd be very hard to make a convincing argument that it's faster. Even though you only get 4 coins by doing it 3/3, it saves so much compared to driving the intended way
@@MKWilliam yes, you need some tests to prove it of course, I’m italian and I sometimes play mario kart 7 on my 3ds and i like a lot speedruns on videogames so much, and i like to try some insane tricks on the 3ds, i was better at mario kart wii, i tried real time speedrun when I was young (now i’m 22yo), some years ago i tried a real time speedrun to complete 150cc cup as fast as possible, starting creating a new profile, using peach with “motomatch” to complete normal cups to unlock daisy and completing faster retro cups, restarting the console after winning every cups to skip cutscenes and save time I like this new tas videos on this game,I want to discover an ultra shortcut to the n64 luigi raceway course
0:11 I got a hot take but: Since double hop with 1 mushroom is possible, what if there is a way to get to the glider ramp from there? Maybe use a shroom somewhere in the wall and then u will land on the ramp without having to do the cut before it Btw i said this is a hot take because 1. The only mk game i played is 8 deluxe. 2. I don't know how the driving physics work here So if this sounds unprofessional, thats why
It isn't a mod, it's vanilla! The out of bounds at the end of the track doesn't extend upwards infinitely, so I'm actually going over the barrier that counts you as out of bounds :)
