I hate to be the well akshually guy but the word nation in german is Nation(pronounced: "nah-tion") and Reich means something along the lines of "realm" and/or "kingdom" example: Großdeutsches Reich would mean "greater german *Realm*" and österreich means "eastern *realm*/*kingdom*". the reason I want to make the distinguishment between nation and realm/kingdom is that when saying nation you're implying a nation-state which is really a new idea far newer than the word Reich.

Touhou literally means something like "eastern direction"
