Also I wanted to tell you. When I watch your videos it reminds me of watching the sawyer in one of our mills from the filing room door window, wishing I was back in his box without all the responsibility of the filing room work at times. Life was more simpler back then. And that’s not to knock what you are doing. Enjoy it while you can bud! 👍
Thanks man. Ya I’m also the lead hand and have been training to become supervisor. But can’t really become supervisor until I have someone that can run the saw and keep production at what it is or better .. it’s very hard to take a Grade sawyer and put him in a pallet mill tell him to forget everything he’s learned and saw cants lol I learned to saw cants before I learned how to grade saw I won’t take a grade board if it will effect the outcome of getting 2 or maybe 3 cants It’s a much different type of sawing most guys would see a clean face with no defects and take a board but right from the beginning I was trained not too
We work right up to noon on the 24th and back to work on January 2nd. But we have 3 days of maintenance the 27th 30th and 31st. Ya I agree man when sawing that’s all you got to worry about is making the saw run. I’m also the lead hand and have been in training to become the supervisor. But there needs to be someone to take over sawing and we just can’t seem to find that person as of yet which is fine for me I enjoy it. And the grader is my backup he takes over for an hour here and there so I can stretch my legs or if there’s somthing I need to take care of I gotta try to stockpile a few videos for when we aren’t working I still have a few days lol Thanks for the support John. We aren’t working I trying to finish up our American orders incase we have these big tariffs from trump. Then we have some really big local orders to complete
Ya your right it obviously didn’t get looked at by anyone the logger the buyer the loader driver or debarker man. By time it gets to me it has no where to go but through the saw

Calling it junk is being nice. Hard to box in the shake when it is all through the log.
That log went in the chipper. I just had to make it small enough
@TheWildWestMill sending that log to chipper was too good for it. Should have stsyed in the bush and into a burn pile. LOL

It took me 5 minutes to saw that crap and didn’t get a single usable pc
