We just use that when there’s metal. If there was no metal. I will saw it down small enough to the guys to handle at the green chain but that log was still very heavy. We just got a strange order for legging. 6”X random X 10ft long. So they wants as small as 6”x4”. And up to 6”x10”. But our mill isn’t really set up for that. So I’m going to split the big ones and make 6x5s or whatever they work out too. When I split them losing a 1/4” but it’s better than someone getting hurt trying to move a 6x10 cottonwood beam it would likely be 5 or 600 pounds maybe more just started cutting this afternoon. I’ll show it tomorrow
No whatever I hit was very very small And it was very close to break time. So I limped through until then. But I just had to touch up the bits with the grinder there was really no damage. But I wasn’t taking a chance to keep sawing that log this time. The price of sawbits tripled this past month. From 3.50 to 10.20 each. There’s 42 on the saw At 3 bucks we didn’t really care. But at 10 bucks each those sawbits are like gold
Thank you for sharing, Dan
Nice work on those big logs.
Thank you sir
Forklift as a tailsawyer is as Canadian as it gets!

I'm curious what you wrote on that log what does that mean?

@ No F$ckin Good lol
Hmm, I can imagine what 'NFG' stands for 🤣 You don't stop the blade and check the bits?
