Love how you go beyond merely selling a product or building a brand to embracing building a community! Connecting people and sharing your story adds an authenticity that is often lacking in the business world.

So real. Love this one too. Naming is a PAINFUL process. Love the intensity of your emotions. This is so relatable to me in the build process. It's crazy how easy it is to get hung up on creating something timeless, but true-to-you. Thank you for always sharing your "behind the brand" reality.

It's so cool being in the space that is going to be your business before it's up and running. I definitely didn't lose any enjoyment from the video because of the sound. I think it really does help bring us there with you.

    YES to THAT !
Totally in this period right now. Name & Identity is such a struggle, but... when you feel like you've nailed it, feels SO GOOD !
    Congrats !

I hope to come visit the cafe one day! This channel is invaluable! I'm in the process developing a non-profit/donation-based coffee place as part of a community center in my tiny town (pop. 1400) and I've learned a ton here!

So I started watching coffee youtube a couple months ago and would watch some of your videos. Only today did I see a vid of yours about Cat & Cloud. I was like no way that it could be the same place that's in Santa Cruz, but yes it is and I can't believe it 😂 I'm a student at UCSC and I've gone a couple times. Small world!!! Cat & Cloud will be my #1 go-to cafe now! 😁👍🏽

Had the name of my coffee (hobby) business in my back pocket for years. Very cool when they came together and I get a lot of comments on it as it fits with my location. Love your videos :-)

Good story, Chris. A great idea always contains a story. That creates an identity and a personalization connect with how we relate to that story. It makes a common element.

9:30 dude, I hate those too! But actually what you're doing was the best natural "marketing" style. Storytelling and getting personal was the goal. Congrats

Great story behind the name! The ability to talk so passionately and real about its origin makes it part of any true brands equity! Sidenote: any recommended coffee places in downtown San Diego or LA as we are visiting from Australia and everything we have tried so far is utter shit?(sorry America)
