    Hey I recognize some farms from Antigua in Guatemala in your B-roll shots. For instance my avatar photo is from one group of farms you show in your video. BTW good synthesis of the process; some of us have been immerse our whole life in the process and cannot explain it in less than 10 minutes.

      Find cascara (dried coffee fruit) and brew a tea. It’s not bad. I find it to be less sweet then I like so I tend to go a little heavy on the honey.

    So the parchment is different from the chaff?

    • @RealChrisBaca
      @RealChrisBaca  6 лет назад

      Great question. Yes, two different things. By the time green coffee gets to the roaster the parchment will be gone but the coffee will still give off chaff around that magical first crack.

    • @MrElectroman3
      @MrElectroman3 5 лет назад

      Unfortunately, if you are buying C market coffee (grocery store, pre-ground, k-cups) this is true as the average cost to produce a pound of coffee is ~$1.25 while the current market value of coffee is fluctuating at and even under $1/lb. 70% of the cost of C market coffee is labor. This is the result of people who are looking at coffee as a simple commodity having decision making power, and why you shouldn't buy C market coffee. Support local roasters, and ultimately support small farmers who put a great deal of effort into their product & truly care about what they are delivering.
