- We are delighted to invite you all this September to our next oil painting workshop called "Retreat to the Château" instructed by award-winning master portraitist Johanna Spinks at Château de Puy Vidal from September 2nd - 9th.

Johanna Spinks is a British born, Los Angeles based portrait artist whose work hangs in museums, galleries, and private collections all over the world.
Mentored by the late Everett Raymond Kinstler N.A. who painted eight
presidential portraits, Johanna’s style can be best described as classical oil portraiture with a contemporary palette knife twist.
Over her 25 year portrait career, her work has received recognition from the United States Congress, The California State Senate, and multiple Oil Painters of America National shows.
ALL-INCLUSIVE:
Full-time Art Instruction
Master Painter Johanna Spinks will be at the Chateau full time, giving morning and afternoon instruction in painting, watercolor and sketching, as well as sharing meals with all attendees and participating in any activities and entertainment. She will also do painting demos.
Private Chateau Bedroom & Bathroom
Large Historic Bedrooms with Queen or King size beds
Immersive Château Experience
Activities and entertainment, day-trips, full use of all common salons and rooms, grounds, gardens, outdoor games, swimming pool, grill space, & more
Gourmet French Dining

Ground Transportation
Pick up and drop off at train station in Angouleme, all transport to any day trips during retreat. Assistance with travel booking & more.
Art supplies provided: Easels, tripods, pallete scrapers, aprons, art stools, carrying baskets, gamsol, paper towels

Do all the participants have to have basic pairing lessons to start with ?
the Instructor is able to meet each participant at their level and make sure they feel fully set up to begin to paint throughout the week. So if the artist needs to get some basics covered at the beginning she is more than happy to do so:)
