Happy New Years!
It's a quiet winter season at Puy Vidal for Maruca, Julia and Carolina who are huddling inside stone walls, keeping warm and prepping for the 2023 season. Our amazing gardeners Ganteille and Pascal trek across the gardens and grounds finding winter projects to prep the Château for the coming months. We welcome our lovely friends from the Steadicam Operators Association who came to visit us right after new years to experience our little corner of France. And finally, its snowing and its really cold at Puy Vidal!! This is slow winter living at Château du Puy Vidal.

Chateau de Puy Vidal is a medieval fortress turned renaissance Castle, and is located in the Charente region of Nouvelle Aquitaine, France. This channel is dedicated to our love of chateaux, old stones, magic, family and history. We share with you our process of applying to visas, setting up a business, purchasing a property sight unseen during COVID all before moving across the world. What happens when your dreams come true?

Your channel, story, family, accomplishments are extraordinary. I predict that your channel is going to explode with great success.
Just a tip: I have had sets of those Laguiole steak knives for years. Ones with steel handles and ones with wooden ones as well as the horn handled ones you showed. Both steel and wood are ok in the dishwasher. You just need to oil the wooden ones every now and again. But never put the horn ones in the machine. Quick hand wash and dry to keep them beautiful and shiny.

As someone who had numerous tapestries, I'd protect that one by making sure the bed has a headboard so people don't sit or put their head against it.

Im a home stay parent for international students, when they arrive i give them a paper i prepare for their food like`s and dislike`s, it work`s wonders especially when it comes to breakfast`s and lunch`s, all they have to do is write down the food they like or dont

As a former NYC film person, I so appreciate your talents put to this use. I'm an unabashed #chateauporn aficionado and your content and filming skills are a pleasure to see. ("oh, they're doing a narrated montage of their friends visit- perfect!") I even laughed out loud at your doggie in the chair by the fire as a demo of how tempting it is to curl up in deep mid-winter. How do you feel about being called "ladies"? I think we've turned away from that word, as we have with "mademoiselle"... And, will you be there all winter? How is keeping warm going?

Winter is so underrated--If you have the proper clothing, it can be the most magical time. (I live in Chicago, so I have the gear--LOL). I think the labyrinth looks even more beautiful with the dusting of snow. Thank you for sharing your life and home in France. I would rather watch your vlog than network TV. Until the next vlog.

Really good trick is to sow a little corner of each blanket in a different thread you can even line them all up so when you make the bed you know what end goes at the bottom color coded by bed size or even by room

My partner and I bought a beautiful creek side 5 acre property in the states to do something similar to what you all are doing there - artist workshops, classes, possibly overnight guests, etc. There are so many challenges that come with remodeling, maintenance, and repairs of a property like this and at times we have really questioned our choice. Lol You and your family have given us so much courage and inspiration to keep going with everything that we have been dreaming and working towards for this place, ourselves, and our family.
