I think you are misinformed, the embargo, which stopped all trade with Cuba, bar humanitarian, was initiated in 1962, Cohiba was officially launched as a brand in 1966, so therefore you could have not been smoking pre embargo cohiba, maybe you were smoking a Cuban davidoff, as davidoff moved their production to the Dominican Republic, and Cuban davidoff are highly sort after and expensive due to their rarity.

It's a whole different world than cigarettes and gas station "cigars" which go through a very different process and have dozens of additives that premium handmade cigars don't have. You'll sometimes see articles and studies that show cigar smoking to be no less, and in some cases even more, dangerous than cigarette smoking but when ya dig a little deeper they're almost all not making a distinction between gas station "cigars" (which aren't really cigars and are basically just cigarettes) and premium handmade smokes so they're lumped together swinging the stats OR are just talking about has station "cigars" (like Black N Mild or Swisher Sweets) and aren't even looking at handmades at all. It's been difficult to get good information til fairly recently because of this. But since more have actually been done they've shown that there is a difference and they can't be viewed the same. It's not as simple as "it's bad for your health" like cigarettes. Moderation is key!

Arnie's cool nonchalance is how I started to gain confidence as a pre-teen.
