Good job. High five!!!!! They are so experienced that you can trust them. We went out on a boat last year. Deck hands and Captain was very polite, shook our hand when we introduced ourselves. Some people just want your money, but these people are great. Looking forward to next year!!!
Ouch. I know next to nothing about boating, but I know enough to respect that move. Also, that boat must have some serious power. It accelerated like a sports car 😮
Wow Impressive job of “skippering” - looks like you have to time the current, tide and waves just right - and then gun it! Must have grown up on his Dad’s boat going through that narrow channel since he was a kid
That's great thanks, been a long time my family's been around there for 140years ish been out with the family on occasion to fish with the kids and whale watching. Really nice, notice his timing.nicley done as you would expect. Great place go 🐟.
At first I thought he was going too slow and yelled, "Get it up on plane!" then it became apparent he was reading the sea, waiting for it to invite him in the narrow channel.
We've visited this darling marina several times and always commented on the stern faces of the charter customers that had just returned. Now we understand!
I was one a few years ago... Ugh, went out on a 30 minute whale watch and stayed for over an hour, parked just outside the inlet because the whales were everywhere! Captain said in 20 years he'd never seen it like that. But I tell you what - sitting idle in the waves was UNCOOL for a land lubber like me.
The captaincy of this vessel is assured. Appears to be aware of water in front & behind. At correct moment in the surge...then gives throttle to come right in. After a short while crew knows they want to be on a boat like this...
If you haven’t already you should check the videos on boats entering St Paul harbor in Alaska on "Boat Life" RUclips channel , he has some good videos . I did that years ago when I was crabbing up there.. crazy stuff.
I checked it out on maps. And the harbor is small and almost as tight as the inlet. With whale watching, coast guard and lots of fishing boats. And some weekend warriors. And Hippy Trips Cannabis shop.
@@charleslloyd4253 yes, kayakers really depend on the timing. And especially there, they almost always have a VHF radio on their PFD and are in contact with the Coasties watching the harbor.
The harbor itself is smAll but very well protected. It's just the inlet that's dicey. As far as where it is, well... Take it up with geology. There just aren't a lot of good spots for harbors on much of the Pacific coast.

He timed it perfect. Good job capt. No hesitation. Full throttle. Balls to the wall
Captain is like a surfer counting the waves to get the right one. Name of the boat says it all.
Counting the waves - NOT to get one! :)
Nice job captain! Big horsepower is definitely a necessity for the "hole in the wall"!
whoa, that's a big boat going into a very small inlet. Kudos to the skipper, looks like he knew exactly what he was doing.

That's a Captain. Hats off to you sir!
How cool is that..!!
Hats off to the wonderful Captain!!
He knew the sets . That’s a bad ass inlet !

That was a mighty skilful piece of seamanship.Very well done.👍🇬🇧
It's almost like you know Tyler 😂
@@GregsWorkshopOregon 😁👍🇬🇧
Well done Skipper, you read it perfectly.

That’s some mighty fine boat handling!
Very little room for error and he played it masterfully
That's all skill he timed it and went great job
great place to whale watch

Well Done Captain...well done!!
Wow! Great job getting in.
Very very nice. The captain made a judgement call and when in win the tide has calmed doing. Yes!!!
Whoa 😳 Perfect timing there 👌 Hell, ya wouldn’t wanna encounter anyone coming the other way though 😳😳 She’s hella narrow.
look at her launch when he firewalls it! that boat has some power!
One of my favorite places to fish out of. The ride back in is always fun too.
Depot bay, use to go scuba fishing out of there, some great fishing spots to the north. there is a boat ramp on the south end of the bay.
Yea, most of these guys are really good at handling their boats.

Big balls and great driving, wahoo
i recall going on a tour boat there in 2001 in summer in good conditions and it was scary then...but a choice memory for me!
Now that was a nice run.
That’s nuts . Big ones that is 😎
That’s one tight bar crossing
Bad ass. Nice work
Wow!! That was awesome.
Да, тут главное - прицелиться точнее! Капитан видно опытный, браво!!!
Wow, there's a pro.
That, is just the craziest channel! Had check it out on google maps, yep, there it is! Crikey!
I've had small boat pass me going through this with other boats behind me...exciting...

Holly Molly one engine hiccup & suddenly the trip is no longer pleasant. But great job by the captain he/she knows what they are doing.
AWESOME TYLER !

Great job! That’s a tricky one I hear.
Good work
Wow nicely done 🇦🇺
Respect this captain.... Good steamship...
My old next door neighbor. Great people.
Timing is everything as you can see the captain is picking just the right time to throttle up
Excellent pickup speed...
I was hitting my bong and had to stop to watch this 😳 ok they made it , continued to rip it 💨
Only right way to do it🤣
Blazing squad💨🔥
Bro this was the GTA of inlets.
Madd Skilzz 🤙🏻🍻
From the looks of it it’s low tide. Or real close to it. Probably stayed out a little longer to catch limits.
Well done!
Damn threadin the needle huh sheeeesh😲
Nice work
Smallest harbor in the world! Depot Bay is a fun place to visit..
Driving the hell out of that boat!
I was there 6 years ago and took a charter boat twice it was scary but I love fishing and I’m not the one driving the boat so 😁
Its pretty tight there... neat place
That Capt. knows his story. You got to have hair on your teeth going through there.
Hey, is that the one flew over the cookoos nest boat. Take the wheel Cheswick.
A scene from the movie was filmed in that harbor
Nice job
This reminds me of Bode, Point Break... Just waiting for my set.
Wow. Where is this?
Wow....👍💪
That's nuts
Praised be his name, the captain

You need some CAST IRON NUTS and this Skipper has them.
Like a BOSS
Perfect timing!
CAP
How can you be sure a boat isn’t exiting the harbor as somebody’s trying to enter? Can boats pass each other through here?
Captain Ron!!!!
That looks rather scary
I’m never going to complain about my inlet channel ever again 🤯
Awesome
The world's smallest navigable harbor i use to live in Lincoln city which is 15 miles north of depoe Bay back in the 80s
That inlet looks dicey.
Great job! Count three and punch it! Or was it two? 🤔
I checked it out on maps. And the harbor is small and almost as tight as the inlet. With whale watching, coast guard and lots of fishing boats. And some weekend warriors. And Hippy Trips Cannabis shop.
Per Guinness Depoe Bay is the worlds smallest harbor
Also a popular place for kayak fishermen.
@@RoxnDox A great place for that. I bet all watch and plan on the tides.

Real Captains
Great! May we grow together in our respective channels
👍
That’s a bit of a sticky wicket.
when i saw the rocks both sides and how small the navigable channel was and sea conditions. Thats not nice!
Lordy!
Somehow I thought it would be more exciting.
Couldn't they find a crappier place to build a dock? Or is that it?

He used his training!
Damn!
I wonder if they coordinate traffic... it sure wouldn't be good to encounter a boat on its way out!
I can't see any other way. no room for error. pretty sketchy.
Incoming boats blow their horn when they get lined up. They also monitor channel 16.
They’re supposed to. FWIW.
Sweet jesus
I would have been in the rocks
Russian roulette every time you have to do that
I’d move
With all respect this is like a leisurely walk in the park. See: "Boats Crossing the Greymouth Bar in NZ"
Wow that’s nearly as tight as my wife’s purse.lol
I don't think it,s his or her first dance
just send it
Fk going in there at night.
Sketchy AF!!!
