Rey was protagonist of the sequels but Ben was the best thing that came out of the sequels.

I liked Kylo, he's kinda like a star wars fanboy like us. Obsessed with Vader, dresses like OG Sith. Shit that's what I'd do if I got thrown into the first order after betrayal for being force sensitive. Plus his lightsaber is cool no matter what people say, it's unstable and bursting with power like a sun, looks like it's gonna explode

I agree that Ben deserved a happy ending after all his suffering. This story should be about hope and not about how you can't escape the darkness without dying at the end. And it's unlogic that Rey and Ben shared a bond through the force but then it doesn't have an impact on Rey when a part of that dies?

I love how the theme sounds harsh and menacing at first, but then has soft, sad undertones with confliction. I like how you can listen and know there is uncertainty and great conflict in him. you can hear it in the undertones, confused and unsure, like Kylo Ren.

God In my opinion the only good thing out of the new films is Kylo the rest is very bad and seems more like a poorly done fan fiction than an authentic Star Wars story. That's why imo it's worse than the prequels, because they at least feel like Star Wars. Also even if you take away the Star Wars aspect there are so many writing problems, one being that normally done by ameatur which is the writing problem of the Mary Sue.

yes. I find Kylo ren to be very inconsistent rather than complex, his mood changing seemingly every other shot, and with pretty much no explanation.
Ben Solo you always be in my heart by far the best character of this trilogy...
I love hearing the little tidbits of previous film themes (ex. "Imperial March"). This incredible music shows the menace & power of Ben/Kylo. But there's also an undercurrent of sadness in the background, which shows how he's not entirely comfortable with the path he's chosen (& is keeping those feelings secret).

This music is much less stable than the imperial march, which has rhythms that do not stray from the beat, a tight melody that resolves well and is mostly tonal, whereas this theme is much less stable with the first half step and then tritone, followed by rapid shifts in mood

It’s a nice way of John Williams sneaking in a bit of Luke’s theme into Kylo’s. Showing that underneath all that darkness is still a bit of light. It’s brilliant. I’m not really a fan of the sequel trilogy, but there are things in it that I can say I like.
Makes me think his fate is one of good and he might even get to live it too.

When you really think about it the sequel trilogy was more about Ben's journey
My point :
You see in the beginning that Kylo is trying to be like vader , the main evidence of this is his Helmet . We in the beginning believe its concealing something terrible, much like how Vader's helmet covered his scarred face . The dark mysterious robes , the thrashing anger
He even talks to vaders melted helmet telling him that he will will finish what he started .
But when Kylo takes off the helmet and we see he's just a normal guy , it throws us off , why would he wear it ?
Simple , he wants to be like Vader , all powerful and feared
We even see how angered he gets when Rey tells him he'll never be as strong as Darth Vader
In the first movie many of the things he does is out of anger and trying to be someone he's not
That's why he fails in his battle against Rey . He feels so conflicted on the light of Ben Solo but the darkness of Kylo Ren , and trying to find out who he is . So when he's tasked with killing Han Solo to prove he belongs in the dark side , he hesitates
Before doing the deed
In The last jedi we really see Kylo's growth
Were hinted back to Kylo being who he's not when Snoke tells him
"Take that ridiculous thing off" his helmet , he needs it for no reason . Vader needed his helmet to stay alive But Ben ? He never needed it
When Snoke berates him telling him he failed , he gets up to fight but cant due to being struck by force lightning. He feels conflicted yet again
In his anger he smashes his helmet
Because he realizes he's not going to be like Vader , hes going to be Kylo Ren , do things on his own terms , but we still see that conflict of light in him . When we get towards the end Kylo kills his true enemy Supreme Leader Snoke and tells Rey to come with him that they shouldn't let anyone govern who they're supposed to be
We see after his fight with Rey that breaks the lightsaber that hes much more angry
Let's think about it , he killed Han Solo as instructed but was still told he Failed , he finally did things on his own terms as his own person , killing snoke but is rejected , he cant stop the pain of feeling torn apart when he feels like all he does is screw up
Kylo takes his place as supreme leader . And tells luke he will kill Rey and destroy the resistance
*rise of Skywalker spoilers*
The movie opens up with Kylo finding another being that poses a threat to him , The Emperor
But when told to bring Rey to him
He repairs his mask , hes not being Vader anymore , hes Supreme Leader Kylo Ren , a more brutal Vader
We see this in the scene when he force chokes and official and throws him to the ceiling for opposing him
Much like how Vader only choked an official in A New Hope when he opposed him
We see that Kylo has found his place in the dark but has he really ?
No , Ben Solo is at his strongest here becoming his own person instead of being controlled by the dark side
And all he needed was to see that someone could see that pain what he was fighting with inside. After his seeing Rey heal him and his talk with his mother and Father
He now knows who he was always meant to be Ben Solo
And that movie is his redemption
Thus why it's called
The Rise of Skywalker
The sequel Trilogy is more about Ben than you really think
So please instead of cussing me out to prove how right you are , share your thoughts, I'd like to see what you guys think

MVP of the whole damned trilogy.
I had a really hard time watching the sequels as I tried really hard to suppress my laughter whenever Kylo Ren would appear on screen. When Kylo Ren took off his mask I literally thought "What is Lee Kwang Soo (South Korean actor/comedian/model who looks and acts like Kylo Ren in real life) doing on screen?!" This made it more fun to watch.
I didn't realize how much TFA score has stuck with me. It not only elicits all the stuff about the character and story that it's supposed to but it also transports me back to 2015. We first saw TFA almost 6 years ago now. I was 14 when it came out and I'm 20 now...
Didn't really notice this theme back then but now I'm starting to love it. And it gave me chills to hear it again in episode VIII during the elevator scene!
Regardless what you think bout the sequels, the visual effects were amazing, the sound design was great, and god the music was goated as usual, John Williams you are a master

1:09-1:16 I LOVE that part. The intensity of those strings playing quickly and urgently perfectly captures Ren- dangerous and conflicted.
This song really expresses the conflict inside of Ben solo and Kylo Ren , Ben being the son of Han Solo and Leia organa and the symbol of light, and Kylo being the hate,anger,and rage inside him

Kylo and Anakin are my favorite Star Wars characters.
Who would've thought the edge lord supreme leader would be the last interesting character of the new trilogy? I don't know why these other characters just bore me, but Kylo felt like the only character the studio bothered to give any depth.

Exactly, that and the whole "let the past die" thing sounds a little too emo for me to take seriously but as a whole I'm still interested in his character and where he'll go. Maybe we'll get the Knights of Ren instead of another useless half hour *cough* Canto Bite *cough* of plot and maybe get something that goes into their story more.

Rose was literally the most useless character, everyone is like - the only reason Rian added her in was because they wanted to bring attention away from the whole idea of finnrey (finn x rey) so that people can focus on reylo ( kylo x rey) like what did she do the entire movie. She stopped Finn from having an incredible worth-while death that would've made the entire story a lot more dramatic and then the entire time she basically ran around complaining. I think probably one of the least interesting and thought of characters.
