@@darkprinceofdorne Its a horrible scene to watch. Obi-Wan's face says it all: a testament to Ewan's talent, but still really impactful. I wrote an essay about Anakin, and in it I said how its so odd to think about how quickly and how hard Anakin fell from the light. It's shocking, particularly Order 66 where Anakin's betrayal plays. To me, it captures the tragedy, but most of all, the shock because for all the time we had watched Star Wars, we had never heard such a sad and solemn anthem.

Don't forget to thank John Williams. He really gave that epic feeling to Star Wars, a monumental composition, songs that will resonate for eras to come
i always said that is the main thing that Disney's star wars productions have missed, they don't have the soundtrack that a star wars movie needs. the main thing that killed them for me.
Pretty sure it's because of the incredibly shitty childhood he had growing up as a slave on an unforgiving desert planet, but sure, we can go with that goofy shit too.
They had a chance to make it seem like a cohecive story since Kylo is Anakin's grandson. They even had a focus on Anakin/Vader's legacy in the first movie. If they handled that well and didn't butcher luke I think it would've been a good trillogy in concept at least. Instead every sequel was trying to retconn the other movie. Rise of Skywalker was just a mess to top it all off.
I agree. The sequels should never have been made. They were poorly written fan fiction which literally told no real story of substance, all for the purpose of a cash grab and some fan service.
@@MrRaxicorniopholus See, I would agree with that statement, but there are so many problems that make the Tragedy of Dath Vader watered down and weak. Primarily it has to do with the acting and line delivery and part of it is a weak script that failed to endear us properly to the characters. Note, I speak exclusively about the movies, for I have watched The Clone Wars series which was helpful in setting more properly the story and background of the characters in the movies. It's just a shame that it took a cartoon to accomplish what a professionally directed, heavily funded Lucas Arts Studios + ILM trilogy completely failed to. The relationship between Padme and Anakin, when he was a kid, was okay and believable. But during the second and third movie, it felt like Padme was hardly ever there more than to be Anakin's dirty secret. It's a forbidden love story, sure, we get it. But it's not worth it unless we see the love forming. One easy but exceptionally powerful way to make characters feel closer and more alive to an audience is to have them share an ultimate emotion with each other. Bare to all who witness the true soul hidden beneath the socially constructed exterior worn to blend in with the masses. They got close in the movies with the line "They were ANIMALS! And I slaughtered them like Animals!" The problem with scene though was that they didn't allot time to let the true range of emotions set in before they cut away. Take that same scene with Anakin shouting at Padme a confession of his brutality, then make this edit: After Anakin shouts those words, he looks horrified at himself and what he said. He looks like he's about to turn inside out and the world is falling away from underneath him. Padme closes the distance and takes the suffering Anakin into her arms. He begins sobbing uncontrollable out of confusion and terror from the turmoil boiling within him. With broken voice of regret, hatred and agony, he can barely bawl out the words "What have I done?" Show him turning his face into her chest to pule and them both fall slowly to the ground with Padme stroking and holding him. Then pull the camera away slowly. Give the scene about 10-20 seconds of them holding each other, Padme powerless to help as Anakin absolutely destroys himself from the inside out. A silent scene with somber music, sobbing and the two embraced that lasts long enough to let you see that what they both feel is true. To see the effect this can have, see here the Fresh Prince of Bel Air when Will's father leaves: ruclips.net/video/EZGXCDJATDs/видео.html TL;DR The Tragedy of Darth Vader is one of the most moving stories with a more complete understanding of the characters that additional Star Wars media brings which the movies failed to deliver.
Vader and Obi-Wan really are some of the most tragic characters in cinema. Vader fell down the dark path to save the one he loved, but he ended up losing *everything* he loved. Obi-Wan realized that he had failed Anakin as a mentor and as a friend, and was forced to live alone for the rest of his life with nothing but that guilt, and the small sliver of hope that maybe Anakin could come back.
What really broke my heart was when in the Revenge of the Sith Novelization Obi-Wan says to Yoda “To keep watch over Anakin’s son- I can’t imagine a better way to spend the rest of my life.” I love the distinction of Luke being Anakin’s son and not Vader’s. Once more, in my Anakin Analysis, I say that Anakin and Vader are similar, yet incredibly opposing each other in ideology: once being overcome with grief at their downfall and one embracing it and letting it run over him, too a point where Anakin and Vader seem totally opposite. Anakin wanted to save Padme no matter what had to be done, but Vader wanted to rain destruction, sorrow, and power. Mix the two, and you get the Revenge of the Sith.
@@infantry31st95 my god it’s just so sad. i can’t stop think ab how he came from literally nothing and that inspired him to become so powerful and achieve greatness. he found the most beautiful girl ever and fell in true love and he had a great friend in obi wan, yet his fears, his doubts, and his mind got to him and led him down a path where everything that little boy once dreamed of could get so close to achieving, yet end up losing it all. it also doesn’t help that the Jedi council was so against him. it’s just disturbing how sad this is. being in that situation would just be… idek.
As a mentor for sure, but as a friend that’s a stretch. Let’s not put all of the blame on other people, Anakin was largely at fault for many of the things that happened. It wouldn’t be a redemption at the end of the story otherwise.
@@Ismael-kc3ry I disagree. Obj-wan should have seen that Anakin was probably never fit to be a Jedi. Anakin gets attached to people around him, he learns to live and grow friendships, even with him fellow troopers and droids during the Clone Wars. Obi-wan knows this ain’t the way of the Jedi, as they are to he depraved of all attachment and be loyal to to order. But not only to deprecated of a personal life, but of emotions. Anakin naturally is a very emotional person, but the Jedi Council saw this as a weakness. Which only led him to frustration, anger, and ultimately seeing in the Sith and Jedi as no different. Despite this, Obi-wan as mentor didn’t see this. He remained to his traditional values and training Anakin was a promise he couldn’t break, since it was one he made as a promise to his master, Qui-gon. In Episode III, when Obi-wan screams “You were the chosen one!,” it was the frustration and disbelief that his master, who he pledged his word to. Was wrong, and all this was for nothing. Anakin may be responsible for many of his actions, but his was ultimately a slave. Never allowed to be free and his true self. Obi-wan, and the Jedi Council failed him.

"What I remember about the rise of the Empire is... is how quiet it was. During the waning hours of the Clone Wars, the 501st Legion was discreetly transferred back to Coruscant. It was a silent trip. We all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts? Any private, traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. When we were kids we just thought star wars was cool, but the more we grow and mature, the more we understand how deep and emotional the story truly is.
and the more we understand what it really mean, and what it symbolise. reason why to me (and millions other) it's more of a religion than a movie. we know there's light and darkness in the world, that you have to pick a side in the eternal battle, that anyone can change the fate of the world, and that evil is destroyed not by hate and violence, but by kindness, friendship and love. The Force is our will, we might not have magical power, but within us we're all Jedi Knights, or at least we do our best to be as close as possible from one. Disney could spend billions trying, they will never be able to destroy what Star Wars is and mean for us, it changed us all forever, and for the best.
The music of Star Wars III : Revenge of the Sith is soooo above all the others in the saga its kind of mindblowing. It really feels like the far cry of a dying swan, John Williams outdid himself in this movie.
6:35 is some of the most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard. It's so emotional and the build up before is just...I can't find the right words. What I always think when I hear the "I'm so sorry" part of "Anakin's dark deeds" is how much Anakin regrets everything he's done, but there's no turning back.
That "Anakin is the father, isnt he? .... I'm so sorry" line from Obi is just so heartbreaking. I'm so agree with you, the music here is absolutely beautiful.. Always makes me cry.
When I was a kid, Star Wars was just a cool Sci-Fi Action movie with awesome laser swords but now I understand what a sad, tragic and beautiful masterpiece the rise, fall and redemption of Anakin Skywalker really is
@@michal_king478 Concept wise the prequels are literally perfect. The story simply works and adds su much to the mythos as you said. Lucas simply fucked up the execution.
Thematically the prequels work in harmony with the OT (Its like poetry, it rhymes), in execution there were many, many flaws but I prefer George's original vision of the saga over Disney's unplanned mess of a rehash that ultimately did nothing but undermine Anakin's redemption and sacrifice.

I personally think that these are the people he probably cared about most but failed in one way or another. It's heartbreaking. Shmi: the mother he couldn't save. Qui-Gon: the father he never had killed too soon. Obi-Wan: the brother he failed. Ahsoka: the sister he couldn't stop from leaving. Padme: the wife he fell to protect. Galen: the surrogate son he betrayed time and time again. (We all know the little bit of Anakin that resided in Vader at the time saw him as a son.) Leia: the daughter he never got to know. And most importantly... Luke: the son that finally freed him. I like to think that after his death he was able to see those he had failed (bar Luke and Leia.) and ask for forgiveness. In which he would gain, even from Galen & Obi-Wan, the 2 people he perhaps hurt the most.
I'm glad you mentioned Galen, even though Vader's treatment towards him was anything but loving. Still, as you've said it yourself, a part of him felt at least sorry for the boy and most likely admired his ability with the Force.
@@pedrolib I woulda liked an AU where starkiller destroyed Palpatine then Vader truly recognizes him as a son and then we woulda had even more development with starkiller. This is a Quote from a book set in the setting of Empire Strikes back, its when Luke leaves Yoda to go save Han and Leia on Cloud city. This quote is more specifically from Obi-wan's perspective. Brace yourself and read while you listen. Im sorry for what pain I cause. “Luke….” I call as he mounts the ladder leading to the cockpit of his X-wing. Desperation splits my voice. How is it I have dealt with this family for generations and still haven’t figured out how to get through to them? “I don’t want to lose you to the Emperor the way I lost…” I fumble. What I want to say is Anakin. What I want to say is my best friend. What I want to say is your father. The way we both lost him, I want to say. To a needless war, to a wild heart. To a doomed prophecy. Instead I finish, “..Vader.” Luke turns back to me and there it is again, that wild glint in his eyes. @@danielvazquez484 from a certain point of view empire strikes back. Sorry for the delayed response. It’s a collection of short stories that happen along side empire strikes back. The first one is along new hope. So far just the two books
You know, I think this was the turning point that separated Luke from Anakin and prevented his fall to the dark side. Simply because he was allowed to visit his close people and assist his friends. Had he not left, he probably would have hated Vader for killing/imprisoning his friends, killed him in cold blood and the Emperor would have had little work to do at this point. If Anakin was allowed to visit his mother, he might have been much more in peace as well, and wouldn't have beheaded Dooku
I personally think Vader would hate Davy Jones. In POTC, Davy Jones was always portrayed as bitter and overly cruel for the sake of just being cruel. It's like he resented others' happiness and joy because he was never granted it. Vader on the other hand in the OT was more machine than man, not just physically by emotionally. Anakin Skywalker had failed at everything he had set out to do, and Vader was the outcome of his failings. Vader hated himself more than anyone else because he blamed himself for becoming this shell of a man. But despite this, Vader was never portrayed as sadistic or cruel to anyone who hadn't earned his wrath. Vader was certainly no stranger to killing, but you'll notice Vader only killed incompetent officers, rebels and traitors of the Empire. He never killed anyone for the sake of killing. Vader for the most part was fair, he is what we would call Lawful Evil. Jones on the other hand would be Neutral Evil, typically a character who is only out for themselves and doesn't really care for rules or laws, happy to break them or serve under them so long as it gets them what they want.
If only Qui-Gon won... Qui-Gon understood that the Jedi still do have emotions and they shouldn't neglect them. Qui-Gon could've saved Anakin from his fate. Growing up I never understood The Duel Of The Fates, as I mature more and more I start to realize that upon Qui-Gon's death Anakins fate was sealed in metal. Imagine what Qui-Gon and Douku could've taught Anakin. Douku only really turned to the Sith because of the death of his apprentice if I am not mistaken. Cinema has died. The original 6 movies have been the best cinema I have ever experienced. I am grateful to be alive during this time. What Disney has done to Star Wars is absolutely disgusting.
I feel like a lot of people greatly misunderstand how much grooming affects people. I've seen a lot of people place blame on Anakin for what he did but ...he was groomed by a Sith since he was a child, and whenever he turned to the Jedi for help, his abuser made the Jedi into unwilling participants in the cycle of abuse, using their words and actions as weapons against Anakin. If you look at real cases of kids being groomed, even minutes can be enough to cause irreparable damage. Prior to the empire, Palpatine had access to Anakin for around a decade. Yeah- let that sink in. Let us remember that Anakin was the victim here - and he lost his free will when the Jedi gave Palpatine one on one access to a child and when they denied said child the emotional support he needed to realize he was being abused and isolated from his friends in family. Not to mention the Jedi (not maliciously) helped to isolate Anakin from his family. And let us remember that in the end, Anakin finally had help breaking the cycle of abuse and defied his abuser- resulting in his death. Anakin's story is a horrific tragedy.
What makes Williams' score for these films so good is that they aren't for the background, they tell the story themselves. They are why you can't separate music from Star Wars, they heighten the experience and we as fans are left with the pieces in this video. Each film's vibe is encapsulated by the music but the nature of the tragedy of Anakin is this score. It will never cease to be a timeless work of art. Thank you John Williams.
Vader seems so wildly different from Anakin that it becomes easy to forget exactly who you're looking at when you see the mask, but imagery like Vader over Padme's grave and scenes like the one from Rebels with Ahsoka from the last Kenobi episode remind you just exactly who it really is, and just how fucking sad it is
@@НикитаГоловин-в8щlook up the edits of them layering Vader’s voice modulator over Anakin’s voice in that scene; it really drives home what the original comment is talking about. Gives me chills!
Forever the most tragic character in all of Star Wars. Forever the most human character ever written in fiction. Forever will be the reason I love this series.
I've always felt Anakin's story to be personal for myself. We follow a lot of the same situations, my family fell apart, I lost my way, I conquered and destroyed, I became what I was to destroy, but yet I'm still fighting the good fight as vader did one last time. Never give up. Never. Let those who read this prosper we may not know one another but you're never alone. Love to all. Peace to all. May you destroy your demons, may you triumph over your battles and obstacles. May you rise victorious, even despite everything you are here. And that's for a reason, we will meet again. Love.
I sympothize with that. I lost my family as well. And by dealing with that loss and leaving public safety due to the corruption I turned hard and was in enormous pain that it impacted my marriage and the entire time I was in survival and alot of lashing out on my wife the love of my life and soulmate occurred unintentionally I eventually healed and I apologized and made alot right with my wife's family after it was all said and done. It was just recently that for some reason I went back and watched revenge of the sith the movie I hadn't seen since I was a teenager and now I understand alot of what I didn't before about these movies and about a man's walk down a path a path I could have taken had it not been for faith, love and grace. Idk why I'm on here I just thought about listening to some music but maybe this will help someone out here that needs to hear some encouragement.
I feel him. So much anger, disappointment and loss. And the feeling that no one is there for you. One would be worthless. I also fight daily not to fall into evil.
Always remember, you could have been manipulated by a mad genius, and tricked into betraying everything you love, burned alive, partially dismembered and trapped in an Iron Maiden for decades.
I love how well the Prequels spread the blame for what happened. We all know Palpatine is evil, but the Jedi Order's distrust of Anakin and harsh stance on relationships gave him nowhere else to turn but the one person (apart from Padme) who seemed to accept him for who he was. So in the moment where the Jedi needed him the most, he turned on them instead. But then there is Anakin himself, who is blameworthy too for not understanding the damage his double-life was doing to him and others, and for focussing so much on himself. It's just a great all-round tragedy IMO.
THIS! It's not just "grrrr evil chancellor BAD!" It's the fact the very group that freed Anakin from slavery ended up betraying him. His own dream in life became his nightmare. I also like that he didn't just become some cliche bad guy, he hated himself more than anyone else. It has so many layers.
There's also Padme, a woman whose political career was instrumental to the downfall of the Republic, and by the time she noticed it was too late. It was Padme as Queen who caused her planet's senator to become Chancellor. Padme and Jar Jar's positions in the Senate were born of the nepotism of that, which then allowed the usage of the Clone Army and the start of the Clone Wars. It was her trusting Jar Jar that specifically caused it. She made the "I can fix him" decision when Anakin first touched the Dark Side; rather than getting him proper help she decided to hook up with him in response. She watched Anakin get darker and darker during the war, and civil liberties fall to the wayside, and by the time she decided to act, she was too late. Palpatine came from her homeworld. She could have prevented the Empire's rise for almost 15 years straight, but instead she enabled it, lacking the foresight and wisdom until it was too late.
Anakin is the most beautifully, deep and complex character in all of star wars and cinema history. Born without a father, poor, a slave with no hope for the future, taken from his mother, his mother taken from him, fell into forbidden love, feared loss again, fell to darkness, lost his title and gained a new one, destroyed the order he fought for his whole life, lost his wife, lost his friends, lost his children, lost his body and became trapped in a suit which made him suffer constantly and was the fuel for his hatred, comitted terrible acts, met his son and daughter years later and his heart was again moved and awoken, defeated his wicked master who fooled him and saved his son and was redeemed. Beautiful. No one can tell me there is a better star wars character. Anakin's story is fundamentally about what it means to be human. Anakin's redemption story resonates because it tells us all something we desperately want to believe - that no matter what we've done, it's never too late to turn back. It's never too late to learn from your mistakes. It's never too late to stand up, dust yourself off, and turn around. You are never too far gone to change. Vader tells Luke earlier, "It's too late for me, son", yet his last words were "You were right about me. Tell your sister, you were right..." It's only too late to change if you have convinced yourself of that very fact. Personally, as a Christian, I relate Anakin's redemption to the idea that none of us are too far gone to be beyond God's forgiveness. We're all flawed, but we aren't lost if we turn and accept God's pardon through Jesus.
the scene where the ghost of darth vader torments the early anaking is the strongest one. He knew his fate and couldnt escape from it. Darth vader is an evil sarchophagus that always doomed anakin

When I listen to this, I think of war. Just saying. Particularly the Anakin's Dark Deeds part. Also, 8:30 is the theme that plays when Vader is on the star destroyer with Tarkin and the Emperor watching Death Star construction.
This edited version adds sorrow to the already tragic (and subsequently sad) composition that Williams wrote. From my point of view, war is one of, if not the greatest, sorrow and tragedy of our world: particularly death, which is really what RotS is about: the death of Jedi, the Republic, and Anakin. I can totally see your point of view.
Anakin's story is one of the best modern tragedies ever told. Because so many people know it we take it for granted, but if you stop to think and relieve it all, its really heartbreaking because there were so many chances for it to turn out different but it didn't.

I get goosebumps and chills all over everytime I hear this music. I love the transitions to the artwork, especially the beginning when he's at padme's grave reflecting on the life he once had with her and then he's on the step walking away knowing that he wasn't able to save her and he can never go back to being anakin after all the pain and suffering he caused throughout the galaxy.
My grandfather told me once; “People often say that love is the creator of happiness and joy in one’s life, but they forget that love can destroy as well.”
He sacrificed everything, slain his allies, betrayed his friends, all for the one he loves, all because he was promised her wellbeing through these evil deeds, and even then he lost her.
I remember crying the first time I watched episode III, i was 7 years old. It was just such an emotional journey that, even as a kid, I could understand and really feel. I could feel the grief and terror the movie was conveying. Even now when I go back to those movies, although the effects and writing may have not been the greatest, the story is truly a masterpiece and I will always remember it.
7:07 to 7:13 - This bit is a excellent example of how genius John Williams really is. It sounds like a mournful wail; it perfectly reflects the suffering that Anakin went through.
I remember my dad took me to see this in theaters when it first came out. Right before the opening credits he leaned over to me and said, “Get ready, this one has more action and emotion than the other 5 combined.” Understatement of the century.
Seen as Kenobi is airing now, I really want to see some scenes were we feel sorry for Anakin in the Vader suit. Although its also horrifying to see the dark side of Anakin, seeing some really emotional scenes in the series WITH prequels music, will get me in the feels and actually appreciate the show as a continuation from the prequels.
Yes I totally agree! I wanna see more Hayden too with flashbacks. I’m really loving Kenobi so far but I feel the music is what’s lacking. It’s got that “new” Star Wars feel to the music like with Mandalorian which I don’t mind, but I wanna hear that John Williams-esque style with those prequel themes, it would hit so deep and I’m hoping we get it with the last few episodes
Star wars has been and always will be my comfort series. The lame jokes, the funny behind the scenes moments we know about like Hayden and Ewan making lightsaber noises during fight scenes. The more I watch it the more I connect with the characters. The more I fall in love with the story. The more I feel the Ghost Crew as my family, the more I cry as Kanan dies and Ezra goes to the unknown regions. The more hurt I feel when ahsoka leaves the order. The more I empathize with Rex when we see him crying for the first and only time, and the heartbreak we see when Obi-Wan holds Satine as she dies. This series will always be an integral part of my life and will always be able to make me feel things.
Is anyone else not ready to have their hearts shattered when they see Him and Obi back on screen together and likely causing Obi-wan to have some PTSD and tears? Im certainly not.
It is hard to listen to this without getting emotional.. We all have our journeys in life, I believe at one time or another every Man becomes a monster and either fights desperately to become a Man again, or gives up and let's the monster take over. The story of Anakin is the story of all of us.
After Obi Wan tricked and sliced up Anakin and just stared down at his fallen brother. He could've just force pushed him deeper into the lava to finish him off. Or just like we see in that second shot, he goes and collects Anakin and just holds him. Most likely telling him it'll be okay and forgiving him. Maybe even telling Anakin he's sorry for not being there when he needed him the most and what not. Either one of these could've been enough to change the course of Star Wars. But Obi Wan just left him there and doomed the galaxy until "A New Hope".
It's because he knew he couldn't be redeemed from the terrible things he'd done, but he didn't have it in him to kill his best friend and former Padawan.
He couldnt bring himself to do either. One thing wouldve been too evil, the other too kind for the things Anakin did up until this point. Different story if he wouldve known how it would end
Nah, screw Obi Wan man. He may be cool af, but the dude chose some cultist order based around fanaticism of powers over his best friend. He was his brother, and he left him to die just because he was so clouded by the "jedi way". Jedi's may be cool, and all but seriously - the cult they've made upon others is horrible. Down with the jedi - we need to usher in a new galactic order. Thrawn would have done us proud
The moment he realized that he had killed Padme in his rage, Anakin had become an entity that only exists to torture himself. Gone were any desires to help the innocent and provide comfort to those who suffered like he did. Gone especially, was his ability to love the people that mattered to him. Now as Lord Vader, he fully embraced his pain and believed that he could never be redeemed for what he had done. If anyone attempted to help or redeem Lord Vader, the broken man would retaliate with all his wrath. As he believes that he deserves to be forever miserable and unloved.
Anakin being the main character in Star Wars is too epic. With being the most powerful person, his story displays the rearangement of darkness and light, or however you may call the intertwined opposites. Brilliantly satisfying.

A few hundred years from now some of the Star Wars music will be considered classical, and people will say it's from some old "opera". A space opera to be exact.
It somehow reminded me of Mufasa's theme from the lion king. Fitting considering both Mufasa and Vader are voiced by the same legend. RIP James Earl Jones. We need a mashup of the two themes!
Star Wars, the Skywalker saga (1-6) specifically is perfect. It shows that a character can be both the hero and the villain. Both driven by completely different motives, yet able to achieve their destinies.
What I love about Anakin's tale is the theme that seeking power to conquer death inevitably leads to more death and suffering as there isn't enough power in the world to stop the most vital and real parts of life, which are suffering and death :D.

The story was always about Anakin. Something the sequels forgot.

Anakin skywalker is Star Wars

See, I would agree with that statement, but there are so many problems that make the Tragedy of Dath Vader watered down and weak.
And I slaughtered them like Animals!"
The problem with scene though was that they didn't allot time to let the true range of emotions set in before they cut away. Take that same scene with Anakin shouting at Padme a confession of his brutality, then make this edit:
After Anakin shouts those words, he looks horrified at himself and what he said. He looks like he's about to turn inside out and the world is falling away from underneath him. Padme closes the distance and takes the suffering Anakin into her arms. He begins sobbing uncontrollable out of confusion and terror from the turmoil boiling within him. With broken voice of regret, hatred and agony, he can barely bawl out the words "What have I done?"
Show him turning his face into her chest to pule and them both fall slowly to the ground with Padme stroking and holding him.
To see the effect this can have, see here the Fresh Prince of Bel Air when Will's father leaves: ruclips.net/video/EZGXCDJATDs/видео.html
TL;DR The Tragedy of Darth Vader is one of the most moving stories with a more complete understanding of the characters that additional Star Wars media brings which the movies failed to deliver.
Because of Obi Wan..
Don't forget the clone wars where Darth Maul kills the love of Obi-Wans life.
@@Ismael-kc3ry
I disagree.

I never even thought about Davy Jones as that series' Vader, that's a good parallel.
"Do you fear *The Power of the Dark Side* ?!"
The prequels and their music are insanely beautiful

But hey, all is well because the Force willed it so, right?

Its a tale as old as time. Star Wars is just an idea that follows a classic story.
Anakin is one of the most tragic characters of all time.
I feel him. So much anger, disappointment and loss. And the feeling that no one is there for you. One would be worthless. I also fight daily not to fall into evil.
I am sitting and listning to this right as the news of James Earl Jones passing comes out wtf
Rest In Peace Legend.
I had a really bad breakup a few days ago and this theme finally gave me enough help to finally cry and maybe let go
Always remember, you could have been manipulated by a mad genius, and tricked into betraying everything you love, burned alive, partially dismembered and trapped in an Iron Maiden for decades.
This isn’t painful and depressing, it’s absolutely beautiful!
It's just a great all-round tragedy IMO.
that's why he is my favourite villain, hell, favorite character
his story is so cohesive and tragic
Well said
Hes also almost an entirely separate entity Vader is from Anakin
I am not your failure, Obi-Wan. You didn’t kill Anakin Skywalker. I did.
with how much percent did you slow it down or did you change tempo and pitch as well?
Brings tears to a mans eyes
@@themastrelmatadordelmar544 I’d say the songs were slowed 20-30% and the pitches were lowered 2-4 steps depending on the song
the first one is beautiful but doesnt sound like anakins dream, do you have a link or upload to this specific version?
This dialogue was the only good thing in the Obi-Wan show, not even the fight. I would have gladly sacrificed the dialogue for a better show, though.

One word - plot armor.
@@lowe_sa2976lmao anakins story is the literal opposite of plot armour
@@hewad378 yeah, i meant just it, opposite plot armor. But opposite plot armor is still plot armor so... when I wrote that comment i thought he was talking about Anakin winning that duel and becoming even more powerful Sith, getting rid of Padme etc. and I agreed but now I see he meant it like in a "good" way, that Ani could save everyone and himself and still be a Jedi and be a good momma boy
I'm hyped and at the same time not ready for how devastating the new Kenobi series is gonna be.
IF they do it right... Sadly for me they (Disney) showed with the book of boba fett they (Disney) can really mess up characters. My hopes are high but I'm expecting the worst so I won't be disappointed. Minor detail that bothered me in the official footage (tease trailer en official trailer) was Obi wan using blasters in 2 different scenes which doesn't really fit his character (how uncivilised). I know he is in hiding and can't use is lightsaber, but it still rubs me the wrong way... If this series fails to live up to the hype I'm ready to just consider in non-canon the same as the Disney movie trilogy LOL
It'll be devastating alright, but probably not in the rewarding way that you're imagining.
@@s1th_THWM I honestly don't think Book of Boba is as bad as people think. Boba Fett would've changed after being consumed by a Sarlacc. He had no bounty to hunt for, he had to fend for himself with the help of the Tusken Raiders. I thought the last episode was fantastic.
@@thecaynuck4694 kenobi’s been alright so far. Story’s been a mix but Obi-Wan, Owen and Organa have been really good. Some of the new characters are great too, but the Third Sister needs to call tf down. When another Inquisitor pulls you aside to tell you that you’ve gone too far, you’ve, well, gone too far.
Only two episodes out but so far it’s been kinda boring and not super engaging from a writing standpoint, and the editing and cinematography is dull af. Hopefully we have a clone wars scenario where it gets better with time
This is how it feels to be Anakin Skywalker, forever.
My grandfather told me once;
“People often say that love is the creator of happiness and joy in one’s life, but they forget that love can destroy as well.”
Most don't realize the most evil people once had a pure heart.
The purest Muad'ib Paul Atreides was a decent man to but Dune shows us much like the real world all are evil
Rest in peace James Earl Jones..(1931-2024)
The transition @ 6:53 is literally perfect and sums up the tragedy of Darth Vader.
Good job. The alterations to the original track are subtle but really effective.
This is so beautiful yet tragic 😢
I remember my dad took me to see this in theaters when it first came out. Right before the opening credits he leaned over to me and said, “Get ready, this one has more action and emotion than the other 5 combined.” Understatement of the century.
*This music speaks to me on such a deep level - I’m not even a Star Wars fan - truly incredible music indescribable beauty*
Anakin is the best character in the series, and by far the one with the most tragic story.
@@JscoMusic 100%

@@itsasquid Oh, okay. Thank you for clarifying :)
This series will always be an integral part of my life and will always be able to make me feel things.
anakin is the theatrical embodiment of the fallen angel.
Oddly enough, this helps me better than therapy ever did. Music is one of God's greatest gifts to our society.
Rest in Peace Mr. Jones. You were a cunning actor, and a good friend to us all. May the force be with you
Is anyone else not ready to have their hearts shattered when they see Him and Obi back on screen together and likely causing Obi-wan to have some PTSD and tears? Im certainly not.
It is hard to listen to this without getting emotional.. We all have our journeys in life, I believe at one time or another every Man becomes a monster and either fights desperately to become a Man again, or gives up and let's the monster take over. The story of Anakin is the story of all of us.
This person gets it^
After Obi Wan tricked and sliced up Anakin and just stared down at his fallen brother.
The galaxy was doomed with or without Vader
He couldnt bring himself to do either. One thing wouldve been too evil, the other too kind for the things Anakin did up until this point. Different story if he wouldve known how it would end
dont blame obi wan, it was all palpatine's fault
Nah, screw Obi Wan man. He may be cool af, but the dude chose some cultist order based around fanaticism of powers over his best friend. He was his brother, and he left him to die just because he was so clouded by the "jedi way". Jedi's may be cool, and all but seriously - the cult they've made upon others is horrible.
Down with the jedi - we need to usher in a new galactic order. Thrawn would have done us proud
Best music for when I think about my failures.
this transition at 8:30 from the force theme through vaders pain to the emperial march is so amazing..
this just makes you wanna give him a hug, but then you remember he'll just chop off your arms the second you even come close to him.
He’s like Chael Sonnen, nobody gets close.
After the first 2 episodes of Kenobi, this hit different
After episode 3…
Nah it’s the last episode for me
Kenobi is dogshit.
8:35 w the flashbacks goddamn tears
We all need a small dose of pain, it reminds us that we are alive.Enjoy this MOMENT that most people call LIFE.

Anakin's character is the definition of "doomed by the narrative"
Anakin being the main character in Star Wars is too epic. With being the most powerful person, his story displays the rearangement of darkness and light, or however you may call the intertwined opposites. Brilliantly satisfying.

A few hundred years from now some of the Star Wars music will be considered classical, and people will say it's from some old "opera". A space opera to be exact.
An eternity of silence for this tragedy.
