Well I'm watching this after so many times already. You look so glamorous and beautiful in this especially when hungry! Big eye balls when pizza mentioned. Yes, Tennessee is beautiful and you fit right with it Mia.
Wow that's an extraordinary life you're living for someone so talented and very young. And you still do homework on the road....are you fantastical? LOL, I didn't excel in English class when I was your age. I've gotten better now with time the hard way. My wife is a teacher and she'd help me with my writing (grammar, vocabulary, syntax) from time to time. One time, she previewed a letter I was writing for work. In red ink she had circled, marked, lined through, etc.. all the mistakes I made. I felt like there was more red ink than black. I cried, true story, because she was honest where others weren't. It was a frustrating day indeed but I decided to listen and learn from it. I've gotten better since then but English class was never easy for me. I hope this made ya laugh a bit at my expense but I admire your dedication to your education as well as making your dreams come true. Keep it up because obviously you have the right people in your life. :)

I know you know that. Tennessee is a very beautiful state. I've been on that highway when I was a kid and it was breathtaking. (Used to live in Johnsonville). If you get a chance, (I'm positive that you will travel extensively in the years to come), check out the Rockies in Colorado. Absolutely gorgeous! Also Pennsylvania has some pretty breathtaking sights. I honestly can't think of a single state that I've visited/lived in that didn't have awesome scenery. You just have to know where to look. You seem extremely intelligent, as most creative people are, do you hate English class? You're so eloquent and have such an extensive vocabulary, I thought that it would be one of your favorite subjects? I'm doing well in English but the teacher is one of a couple that somehow seemed offended when I'm not in class. I like the subject but I just try to stay out of the way of certain teachers and it can make the class a bit of a drag. Anyway, I think you'd have to be deaf to get a big head as a musician in this town. There are waitresses and uber drivers in this town that have more talent than I may ever have on their particular instrument. I just like to play and love music and I feel confident when I'm doing it, that I can help make songs sound better. I'll give your regards to my Dad :)

Hi Mia, well, I went on your road trip with you and I felt like I was back in Tn. I did my undergraduate studies in Nashville and loved being there, it is a beautiful state. It looked like you didn’t have a nervous bone in your body. I’m very proud of you Mia. ❤️
I get nervous but not when I'm playing. I sometimes get anxious when I have a bunch to learn on a deadline but by the time I actually play, anything like that disappears. I've even been in on a few train wrecks during live shows and it just doesn't effect my nerves. Teachers and sometimes celebrities make my heart race.. I hope I never get used to the hills to where I don't see them the way I do now. Thanks Brian.
thanks for showing some of your activity outside of Nashville, promoting and preparing music shows, recording videos, etc. is always very laborious and tiring but at your age everything is easy and there is a saying that "who runs for pleasure never get tired "especially when there was good music (The Police -" Roxanne ") 🤙🎼during the trips ... good inspirations Mia🥁👍 👻
I almost never feel nervous. I sometimes get stressed about having a handle on everything when things get crazy but as long as I'm prepared, playing the songs always feels.. satisfying.

I'm glad you like these vlogs. It is true, I have to make decisions more than I used to about what/how to spend my time. Making videos will always be a part, but for years, that's really all I had to do beside practice.

I think that will come around. I'm working a ton with a bunch of singer songwriters so the cajon is a really good fit but just getting out in the scene in anyway will produce other opportunities.

I think it may be way more work than most people think but for me, the work is pretty great and just about my favorite thing to do :) I know it's a ridiculously unlikely business to succeed in but when the process is so cool along the way, I'm not really sure I care about the odds of success.
@@miamorrismusic I have no doubt that it's way more work than most people think. Just the time in learning new songs would shock people who haven't done it. I'm glad to hear that you really enjoy doing it, because it is too much work to think about doing if you don't enjoy it. Doing it for reasons other than it being a passion leads to burnout and misery. Whether or not you succeed in it really depends on what you define success as? Would you consider it successful if you were playing the local scene regularly? Doing studio sessions on a regular basis? Making a full time living at either? Touring musician? There are so many different paths in music that can be considered successful. My only advice for now would be to keep doing what you like doing, keep trying different things to figure out if you like them and in the meantime keep going to school and get the most out of that. A good formal education can never be taken away from you and can help you in so many ways that you would never expect that a diploma itself doesn't. I'm going to enjoy watching whichever path you decide to go down as long as you choose to keep making videos to share your experiences. Thank you!

Good point on the cajon. I'm certainly glad I discovered them and I really do enjoy making a box as musical as I can. Wow that's an extraordinary life you're living for someone so talented and very young. And you still do homework on the road....are you fantastical? LOL, I didn't excel in English class when I was your age. I've gotten better now with time the hard way. My wife is a teacher and she'd help me with my writing (grammar, vocabulary, syntax) from time to time. One time, she previewed a letter I was writing for work. In red ink she had circled, marked, lined through, etc.. all the mistakes I made. I felt like there was more red ink than black. I cried, true story, because she was honest where others weren't. It was a frustrating day indeed but I decided to listen and learn from it. I've gotten better since then but English class was never easy for me. I hope this made ya laugh a bit at my expense but I admire your dedication to your education as well as making your dreams come true. Keep it up because obviously you have the right people in your life. :)
Thanks for taking the time to write and for the story about English :) I certainly don't hate school I think I just prefer spending as little time on it as to still learn the material. I know it's a crazy long shot to think I can make a living in music so I better have some studies while I work really, really hard at my crazy choice.

Tennessee is a very beautiful state. I've been on that highway when I was a kid and it was breathtaking. (Used to live in Johnsonville). If you get a chance, (I'm positive that you will travel extensively in the years to come), check out the Rockies in Colorado. Absolutely gorgeous! Also Pennsylvania has some pretty breathtaking sights. I honestly can't think of a single state that I've visited/lived in that didn't have awesome scenery. You just have to know where to look.
You seem extremely intelligent, as most creative people are, do you hate English class? You're so eloquent and have such an extensive vocabulary, I thought that it would be one of your favorite subjects?

I'm doing well in English but the teacher is one of a couple that somehow seemed offended when I'm not in class. I like the subject but I just try to stay out of the way of certain teachers and it can make the class a bit of a drag. Anyway, I think you'd have to be deaf to get a big head as a musician in this town. There are waitresses and uber drivers in this town that have more talent than I may ever have on their particular instrument. I just like to play and love music and I feel confident when I'm doing it, that I can help make songs sound better. I'll give your regards to my Dad :)

I get nervous but not when I'm playing. I sometimes get anxious when I have a bunch to learn on a deadline but by the time I actually play, anything like that disappears. I've even been in on a few train wrecks during live shows and it just doesn't effect my nerves. Teachers and sometimes celebrities make my heart race.. I hope I never get used to the hills to where I don't see them the way I do now. Thanks Brian.

I almost never feel nervous. I sometimes get stressed about having a handle on everything when things get crazy but as long as I'm prepared, playing the songs always feels.. satisfying.

I'm glad you like these vlogs. It is true, I have to make decisions more than I used to about what/how to spend my time. Making videos will always be a part, but for years, that's really all I had to do beside practice.

I think that will come around. I'm working a ton with a bunch of singer songwriters so the cajon is a really good fit but just getting out in the scene in anyway will produce other opportunities.

I think it may be way more work than most people think but for me, the work is pretty great and just about my favorite thing to do :) I know it's a ridiculously unlikely business to succeed in but when the process is so cool along the way, I'm not really sure I care about the odds of success.
@@miamorrismusic I have no doubt that it's way more work than most people think. Just the time in learning new songs would shock people who haven't done it. I'm glad to hear that you really enjoy doing it, because it is too much work to think about doing if you don't enjoy it. Doing it for reasons other than it being a passion leads to burnout and misery.
Whether or not you succeed in it really depends on what you define success as? Would you consider it successful if you were playing the local scene regularly? Doing studio sessions on a regular basis? Making a full time living at either? Touring musician?
There are so many different paths in music that can be considered successful. My only advice for now would be to keep doing what you like doing, keep trying different things to figure out if you like them and in the meantime keep going to school and get the most out of that. A good formal education can never be taken away from you and can help you in so many ways that you would never expect that a diploma itself doesn't.
I'm going to enjoy watching whichever path you decide to go down as long as you choose to keep making videos to share your experiences.

Good point on the cajon. I'm certainly glad I discovered them and I really do enjoy making a box as musical as I can.
