Yess I HATE when it be all messy and product/oil running ALL down my face. This one was nice and clean 😩💕. I was going to get black at first but I’m glad I got pink.
So this is actually a “heat cap.” There is no steam at all. I’ve owned a heat cap for many years. I want an actual steamer, so this video was very helpful in letting me know this isn’t what I’m looking for.
Thanks for watching! Yep there is no actual “steam” with this one. It’s called a steam cap but it’s more of a heat cap that produces some steam inside your shower cap but no excessive steam to the point where it’s visible to the naked eye.
Right! I've been using heat caps all my life and that's what this is not a steam cap, I've had steamers also and steamers have actual steam coming out, if it doesn't require you to install water it's not a steamer Js
I tried to order one of these in December during their Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale. After almost two weeks I didn't have any shipping or order information. I contacted customer service and it took almost five days for them to respond to me. It was giving scam vibes so I cancelled my order. I really, really, REALLY wanted to get this cap and support this company. I'm still on the market for a good steam cap.
I did the same and just got my order two weeks ago. It seems a lot of ppl have had the same issue. I also peeped the website is down, they must’ve got shut down.
I would definitely fall asleep in this…I’m a heating pad year round type of girl…especially if hubs is freezing me out with the ac …so this is cool. And the auto shut off is needed for sure! Thanks for sharing…also love Miche! ✨
@@Doctormycurls Oh but I didn't like the argan oil with my deep condition. It made my texture change and my curls weird. Mine are like yours. My kids have 4C hair, so that combo was great on them! Thanks for posting!
Hey thanks please clarify something to me - is this the one that has light an electric metal heating coil inside at the bottom underneath that plastic. I justrealized i have 1 but thought its not a steam cap but a heating cap. Is it a steam cap.or heating cap? .there is a difference you know😊
Heyyy. As mentioned in the video this one does not produce steam that is visible. The “steam” is moreso from the heat. The company has it named steamcap which is how I reference it in the video but if you watch the video you will see there is no steam it just produces heat.
How does the steam get to the hair when you are using two caps to cover it? The hair gets only the heat from the cap, unless I am missing something about the process.
Good question- this cap adds heats and allows the moisture to remain locked in. A hair dryer is applied directly to the hair would dry the hair vs adding steam and trapping in the moisture. When I take this cap off my hair is still soaking wet whereas if I just ran a dryer over it (with no shower cap) it would be drying.
Heyyy y’all!! I preach about deep conditioning once a week so this is the icing on the cake to that deep condition session to add your heat/steam 💕. Have y’all heard of this before ⁉️
Welcomeee 🤗💕!! You don’t “Have” to but i think that’s what helped my product not run down my neck, so I would say try to wear some type of shower cap even if it’s just a thin plastic disposable one.
This acts VERY similar to a regular heat cap. There isn’t a difference really. This is called steam cap but I would say no actual steam is produced. So maybe not the best name for this product TBH lol
Is this supposed to heat up or just be warm because I didn't thing it was warm enough. And it certainly didn't do an auto-turnoff. although I see they are different brands
So this specific brands cap doesn’t heat up to the point where it’s extremely hot to touch. But it does enough heat to allow your product to get deeper into the hair shaft. I would assume other brands may be a tad bit different. So sorry I can’t speak for other brands.
Hey Lesia! Sorry but I am not employed by this company. I would suggest you reach out to their customer service department. Sorry this happened to you!
That’s a good question. I asked pattern if it had to be washed out and they said you can use it to refresh your curls SOO I meannn 👀🤭😂. Worth giving it a try! Lol
So this one doesn’t require water. You plug the cord in to an outlet, power it to high or low, put the cap over your head and as it heats it starts to work. There is no actual “steam” visible. Does this help?
So you can use this with soaking wet hair. You don’t have to let it dry 80% before use. I’ll step out the shower and my hair is dropping, add my deep conditioner and throw my shower cap on and my steam cap.
So it's really a heat cap for deep condition. No actually steam right? No water is being added? They almost got me because it would be cool if it blew out steam.
I don’t get why there’s no steam which is what it indicates 😟 and why shampoo hair twice, doesn’t make sense this process can be achieved with a shower cap and sitting under a regular salon hair dryer…. Or at home hood hair dryer, I personally regret my purchase of the Afro Steam Cap simply because it technically isn’t a steam cap….lesson learned I should have done more research before my purchase
I agree the name of the cap should’ve been “heat cap” because that’s what it is. The 1st shampoo breaks up the product and oils etc the 2nd shampoo is the one that actually cleanses the hair/scalp. I enjoy the convenience of being able to move as I please while my cap is on vs sitting under a salon dryer.
I ordered the full kit, $169.99 and this product is over priced for the quality. I'm disappointed bc it is cheap material and a regular hair dryer using a plastic cap hv the same results. If you want a steamer, invest in a stand alone hooded steamer and not this ridiculous, cheaply made item. Don't waste your money
The full kit? What else did you get for $169? My cap isn't cheaply made and I appreciate the convenience of simply applying it and powering it on then going about my day vs having to hold a dryer over a plastic cap. That is just my personal opinion. As for me it's definitely worth it! I won mine in a giveaway, so I didn't pay for it but I have been loving it!
No wonder you were given cheap on high price, your expectations were high..when buying online put two things at the back of your mind either it's "what you ordered vs what you get" OR you get what exact items.
The literally took my money and never sent a product. They are a bunch of CROOKS. I have been waiting MONTHS for either a refund or my product. Save yourself the energy and don’t support this “business”
I found a steam cap similar to this one on Amazon for $22
amzn.to/3DSEAhd
Is there steam coming out of the cap or is thermal heat?
No actual steam. More of a “heat cap”
I love how this cap looks glam (pink) and also comfortable because you’re not feeling the steam all over your face. Love it!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Yess I HATE when it be all messy and product/oil running ALL down my face. This one was nice and clean 😩💕. I was going to get black at first but I’m glad I got pink.
When you took the plastic cap off that shine that came through that camera lens! I love it! Your hair truly gave Moisture Sis!
💕💕💕

Facts! They should name it the “Afro heat cap” lol
True! I have it and like it but I thought I was doing something wrong because there was no steam, it’s definitely a heating cap.
Lol I feel you! Definitely not doing anything wrong. Heat cap for sure!

I am so sorry you had this experience. I have an amazon steam cap pinned to the comments. Try that one out for similar results.
I love anything that makes me feel like I'm in a spa!!
That part! Can’t tell me nothing when I can bring the spa to the House haha ☺️🥰
I just got mine in the mail and can't wait to try it. I wanted to watch a demo first. 🥰
I hope you enjoy it!! Let me know if you have any additional questions once you try yours

Oouu I know your kids felt real fancy!!! Lol
Yeah your hair may love the deep conditioner alone way more 🤩
Long gone are the days of those large clunky home dryers. Never heard of this brand. Love that it comes with option in size and color
Yesss the way these hair products and tools are upgraded my life always has me shocked 💕 I LOVEE it!!!
This is what the older hair dryers looked like before the hard tops came out. So they are going backwards.
I watched earlier and realized I forgot to tell you how poppin your hair looked after the steam treatment!! Giving all the healthy vibes😍😍
It’s the circling back for meee 🥰. Yasss love the way that steam got my product into my hair 😩
Ohhh an afro steam cap! This looks really great for those deep conditioning treatments when you just want to lay down and chill, lol!
Yesss exactly!! So relaxing!! 😩💕

All thanks to you for the inspo!! Y’all make sure you follow my sis 👆🏾 and check out her video (it’s linked in the description too) 💕

Isn’t it?! I was so impressed when I first saw someone using it.

No you’re correct. It’s more heat and not “steam” the inside gets hot and locks in the moisture.
using mine now on my 5 yr old...I'll update
Please keep me posted. I feel like I would’ve loved this at 5 years old 😂
How this difficult from using hair dryer?
Good question- this cap adds heats and allows the moisture to remain locked in. A hair dryer is applied directly to the hair would dry the hair vs adding steam and trapping in the moisture. Okay thanks for answering my questions
I wanted to know how well did it keep the products within and not drip out 💦 💧
Yasss it was VERY clean likee I was impressed. Dry as a button outside of the cap. ☺️

I have this heating cap, and I have another heating cap, than I have a steamer, this is not a steamer. It's just a better heating cap.
Agreed 100%! It probably should be called “heat cap”

I order my afro steam cap on August 7th. When will it arrive?
Hey Lesia! Sorry but I am not employed by this company. I would suggest you reach out to their customer service department. Sorry this happened to you!
@@Doctormycurls would you say the steam cap is the equivalent of using a plastic cap with wet hair underhair dryer?
Yep exactly! It’s just the convenience of plugging it up and you’re done and you have more freedom to move and do other things vs a stationary dryer.
I ordered a steam cap and it took about 3-4 weeks to arrive.
I hate that. So many people have had issues with delayed shipping
I would like to know how this compares to the Q Redew hair steamer?
That's a great question! I would love to do a comparison for you! I actually don't own one, but would love to get my hands on one!!

Did you let your hair dry 80% before use? Or is that necessary ?
