Thank you for posting this video. You did an amazing job caring for her hair and it looks beautiful. I wanted to make an appointment with you myself. Except I’m tender headed and your combing looks painful (smile) Thank you again❤
So the only product you used after leaving the shampoo area was the anti humidity spray or did you add anything else during blow dry, during flatiron or after? Thanks
I love my natural hair❤ My natural hair texture has lots of body. My long natural hair is always questionable by many. They think I’m wearing hair extensions. Nope! This is all me!😅
Thankyou Very much for giving us tips . I have been natural for 9 years . & it’s hard to keep up with . My hair no matter what doesn’t stay straight. Maybe a day or two .
My hair looks like this before the trim and the ends are either crunchy or have single strand knots. I’d love to see a video on how to trim them and prevent.
Thank you for the tutorial her hair is so shiny , I have 4c hair what wattage of blow dryer is best to use and what type of leave in conditioner to use also what shampoo is good I tried to silk press my hair at home it didn’t come out to straight the ends of my hair was puffy I’m tired of having to pay all that money to get my hair done because I can’t do my own hair just what makes a good straight silk press? Again thank you.
That’s a good question. I’ll have to check. It all about tension when blow drying. When doing it yourself you may need to work in smaller sections. Also if your ends are puffy you may need a small trim or you can use a smoothing cream to help manage. It possible to get a good outcome at home. Good luck!!
I do my own silk press at home and I have a couple of things that I do that may help you. My sick press has lasted even through 2 weeks of hiking throughout Arizona. You may need to trim your ends, if they are damaged, that would prevent straightening. When I wash and condition my hair, I separate small sections and really rub downward, from root to tip, concentrating on the ends. My hair and scalp have a mind of their own so there are few shampoos that I have been able to use on my hair. I use Garnier Sleek and Shine Shampoo (the clear one) and Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Conditioner. I do not use a large amount of conditioner, and again, I rub to make sure to get my hair washed and rinsed well. It normally takes me an hour to an hour and a half to wash and condition my hair. After washing, I spray my hair with TRESemme Protecting Heat, followed by TRESemme keratin smooth heat protectant spray. Then I section my hair into four sections. One section at a time, making small parts,I blow dry my hair slowly, using one pass for each small section. Once all my hair is dry, I again spray the Protecting Heat spray on my hair and rub it through, from root to tip. I thin section my hair thinly and use my flat iron, one pass, to straighten further. My hair is fairly straight from the blow dry at that point. Once I’m done with the straightening part, I apply a small amount, less than the size of a dime, of TRESemme keratin smooth pro collection shine serum with marula oil. I cannot use a lot of oil on my hair because it makes my hair limp and hard and my scalp gets sore. I am a 59 year old and this is my natural hair. It takes me approximately four hours to complete my hair regimen. But at the end of the process, my hair looks like the video and is so soft and silky. I’m not sure if I’m able to post a picture or I would, to show my hair. The length is about mid back and not super thick. I apologize for the lengthy post, but I hope I can help someone else who wants to care for their hair at home. I loved this video and watching it made me wish I could visit this salon. Except for the part where she combed the hair out after washing, I am super tender headed. I was almost in tears watching that part of the video 🙂
This is why I keep a relaxer on my 4c hair in Dallas 3.5 hrs from Houston. It's very hot, always humid and rains a lot. Houston is rains almost daily. How many hours does this take? I seen women get their hair flat iron for $200 then the next day it's shrinks up. Not worth it to me, in Texas.
Here's the thing, I can take my 4C hair out in the rain and not worry about a thing except its getting some fresh rain moisture. The $200 flat iron women need to check the weather before proceeding to the chair....
@Just do it Uuuggh.... I'm natural I have a beautiful wash n go texture. But...ima STRAIGHT NATURAL. I don't like curly hair for myself. So it sounds like I'll be wearing a ton of sew-in's 🤗 thanks for the info.
@@CocoaDanielle the shine and bounce are what got me. Is the antihumidity spray hard to wash out? Does it make it hard to let moisture in like an oil after about a week of the silk press?
Hi. I am so glad I found you. My hair is natural and I was looking for a silk press to do on my hair and my adult daughters hair occasionally. Thank you for your educational video and helping me with the right tools to use. Stay safe.🙂
I want to silk press my 2c natural hair with an electric marcel curling iron. What setting should I use on my mixed grey/ silver hair to prevent heat damage and yellowing?
You recommended 400 degree temp for the silk press, that does not burn or damage the hair? Right now, I try not to go above 360. Do you have any tips for maintaining natural gray mix hair. I don't think I am quite a 4C, but the edges drive me bananas. I haven't permed or used chemicals in about 5 years. I have not done a big chop either.
Awesome. I look forward to it. May I ask what part of Houston are you - its a large city? I live in houston - if not too far away and you are accepting customers. I would love to have a consult.
Every head of hair is different. Start low then raise the temp if you’re not getting the desired results. Once you get over 400 degrees, stop. Instead of using higher heat use smaller sections and take your time
I noticed to updated hair products Real life Examples: • Shampoo + Conditioner you originally had olaplex now it’s Paul Mitchell neuro • And also the heat protectant was “Moroccanoil Perfect Defense Heat Protectant” now you have Neuro Protect HeatCTRL Iron Hairspray, Perfect Prep
The question is - is there a reason why … I’m saying that only because I ordered everything you added you linked the other day then I came back momnents ago to double check sooo now I’m about to return a few items and update with what you have listed lol 😂
Hey, if your hair is healthy and this process is done correctly you shouldn’t have a problem with your hair reverting. I would spritz with water and high quality oils and steam your hair before shampoo
Im a hairstylist and have work with all types of hair. Personally i dont like the paddle brush to blow out black women hairs. I like to use round brushes but in USA women dont stand the heat from blow drys. I get much better and lasting results without any puffiness specially on the roots. You get a completely polish and smooth hair not to says that it last longer without getting any humidity. But we all have out ways to do things.
After it’s fully dried. (Not shown) This particular heat protectant is used on dry hair but the anti humidity spray is used on wet hair and includes a heat protectant as well
I wash my hair with clarifying shampoo. I deep condition. I dry and apply heat serum. I wait until it is bone dry. I start to straighten. Before the straightener has even reached the ends it’s reverting. What am I doing wrong? Even at the hair salon my hairdresser couldn’t stop my hair from reverting. My hair is healthy and I have regular trims. What gives?
Hey! How do you wear your hair daily? A clarifying shampoo may not be needed for every shampoo and if overly done will strip your hair dry. Also you may need to introduce steam into your deep conditioner and often focusing on the ends and then shampooing with a very moisturizing shampoo. Steam changed the game for me. I cant feel your hair so it’s hard to say exactly what’s causing it but this could be your issue. I hope it helps🤍
So weird that Im looking at this video and checking the humidity cause I live in Houston then boom you say you live in Houston lol. I need the anti humidity tea 🍵 please 🙏🏽.
