This is such a great way to save water as well! Instead of using gallons of water in the shower to detangle my hair. This could be a whole spa day for me. Steam my hair and my face...this will have me glowing! we love to see it!
I steamed my hair for the first time yesterday and I didn’t even know my hair could be THAT soft, moisturised and shiny!! Id been struggling with dry ass hair my entire natural hair journey but not anymore. My hair has never felt like this before 😭😭😭
Please keep in mind that low porosity hair types can steam their hair more often and it is more beneficial to lock in much needed moisture. Medium and high porosity need to be more careful and steam less frequently and with an overall shorter duration during each stem session.
The type of moisturizing products human hair need have nothing to do with water, or steaming your hair and "locking in moisture". The most damaged fibers/hair strands are the ones that actually have the highest percentage of water in them
I love this idea too. I wonder if it would be ok to to add a few drops of essential oil for aroma therapy or oregano oil for cold n flu therapy. Either way I'm defiantly adding this method to treatment day. Thanks Whitney for still teaching us after all these years. ❤
I love steaming my hair as well. I encourage my clients to steam their hair every month. Really makes the hair bouncy and stops shedding in this tracks. The best gift I gave to myself. Thanks Whit!
Natural hair icon. No matter what I’ve been watching you for more than 4-5 years ! 🙏💗 we always will support you as one of the foundations to our natural hair tips tricks and so much more!
I see folks stating they use a garment steamer. I bought a full size , on wheels steamer for $119 more than 10 years ago and it still works. I forget the company I got it from. My stylist has the exact steamer in her shop. One of the best hair investments ever.
Oh my goodness! It is 11:24pm in Louisiana. I was just sitting here after grading papers thinking about how dry my natural hair is and how it should be moisturized now. I am too exhausted to do it tonight. I looked at Hope, the name I call my hair, and said, “Give me one more day.” Then, I get on RUclips and see this. You are right on time because I really needed this. I just added it to my Wish List along with a few other products . Thank you, thank you!

Whitney! ❤️ I have to thank you! I’ve been using this steamer after every wash and in between washes and my hair is responding so well to my products. I enjoy your attention to detail and love for yourself and hair. I’m a 4c gal myself too and learning. I have learned so much from you. May God continue to bless your career, education, family and hair as you do continue to bring progress to what it means to have natural hair as black woman and how to take care of it at every length! You are so loved!
WOW!!!! This was a game changer for real for real! I have low porosity tightly coily hair AND I live in a dry environment. My hair is always dry. But using this! I have never had so little shed/broken hair during a pre-poo ever. EVER! I've never had such an easy detangling. EVER! Instead of distilled water, I used the As I am JBCO water and my hair was so plump and happy had great elasticity. Game. Changer!
I just bought the deep conditioner. I have given up using mainstream haircare products. I support black owned businesses especially haircare. I have downloaded your app and subscribed to everything. Lol. I am working on my hair more. I don’t understand why my hair is not thick and has no weight to it. It literally feels like a cotton ball feather light and it drives me crazy. Love your videos. Thank you for being the vlogger you have become. I would be lost without you and a few other vloggers for natural hair care. I didn’t know my hair pattern or curls until 2016 and I will be 55 this may. I have been natural since 2016. It has been hard and I have gotten nowhere with my hair. I remember when you cut your hair for the second time shorter than mine and now your hair is so long and my hair is still in the same spot. I am so sad. Soooo. I am going to be more consistent using specialized haircare. Thank you.
I’m only 25 and I have premature grays due to genetics. Women tell me to pluck them, color them, etc 🥴 as if I’m pulling perfectly good hair out of my scalp lol love seeing that you keep yours. I am also very gray in the front.

Wow. I thought most folks still had their hair steamers from 10 years ago when they were popular. Let me dust mind off for some extra moisture- good tip. Also, I love your oil mixture and the leave in.
I used the link to get the steamer/washed and deep conditioned my hair WOW WOW it's a game-changer my hair is so moisturized. Cut my locs to grow my loose hair and needed some moisture tips
I suffer with ferry knots like crazy because I don’t think my wash day finger detangling is thorough enough! I think this steamer will help enhance my finger detangling process and maybe less ferry knots! Good demo Whitney!
You have such thick healthy hair! God bless! And wow your shrinkage is real because this is the first time I’ve seen your hair after it was long, long time ago, and I’m like wow she really cut it short, but with the steamer and products and you working it all together on your sections, I see how long your hair is! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Searching Amazon off and on lately for a hair & face streamer and haven’t purchased yet because I wanted to make the right decision. Glad your video was suggested. Going to purchase this streamer today! Thanks for sharing! 🙏🏾💕
Ok Whit I was tempted to do the same thing with my steamer. I always sit under the hood. I know now that you are confirmation that the holy spirit was speaking to me. Thank you so much you are a blessing 🙌
Omg this looks so luxurious and I need that in my life! I've never thought of my hair as the ends being the gramma and roots as the bebey! SUCH a great way to think of it! 🤍
I really love this. Wish I saw it before I bought my face steamer I bought a little cheap one that looks like an iron steamer. The water shoots out sometimes and can burn you if you are not careful, the tank is also small. I am going to buy this steamer and I may try your hair care line. Your results were amazing. This steamer is nice and I can use it on my hair and my son and daughter's hair as well.
Whitney, you were reading my mind!!! This morning, I was thinking how to incorporate steam to my dry hair. Wa La. This video was the first to pop up on my RUclips. I haven't finished watching this. I'm going to get this today.
Um...why is youtube just telling me about you and your business. I'm so impressed about the ingredients being linked to learn about what's exactly in your products. Woah!
I just discovered something when styling my wash-n-go's using the Dixie method. MOUSSE!!! While the hair is SOAKING wet in the shower, a nano second from pulling my head from under the faucet head, I put mousse in and I noticed that the water stops dripping. Mousse locks in the water, which I need to sustain my curl pattern. From there, I rub in gel on both hands and smooth over my entire head to further lock in my curls. I've learned that using LESS gel is better - that I dont need much. The mousse is also critical in less drying time. My hair dries in half the time and there's DEFINITION FOR DAYS!!
I just brought and used the melanin haircare leave in conditioner and oil blend and lord let me tell you my hair has never felt so soft❤️ thank you for creating such nice products for us
These are great tips. I've been steaming my hair for years. It has made such a difference in my hair. While my conditioner is on my hair along with a plastic cap, I let the steam from my facial steamer get underneath the cap.
Yessss! This technique really works! I’ve also been using my facial steamer on my hair for about 4 weeks now! It’s a real spa treatment for my face and my hair! I’m loving it!😍🧖🏾♀️😍🧖🏾♀️😍🧖🏾♀️
I just LOVE your leave in conditioner for my girls hair! It detangles their hair sooooo easily. I’m usually able to just finger detangle because it works so well! I love all of your products!
This is such a great way to save water as well! Instead of using gallons of water in the shower to detangle my hair. This could be a whole spa day for me. Steam my hair and my face...this will have me glowing! we love to see it!
But for real though, I didn't even think of that benefit! Will definitely purchase with my 'treat yourself' splurge!
Good point. I always feel soooo guilty using all that water in the shower to detangle.

I agree, just got mine and tried this method. I used half a water bottle which is about 8 oz, and there was still water left when I finished👍

I though high-porosity hair was the type of hair that responded to water/moisture the most, i.e., easily loosens the curls.

Yes Sis! 😍I love doing this with my QRedew... But the fact that you don't have to hold the steamer is a huge Plus!!💃🏿
Exactly! This was a game changer for me. I donated my QRedew to a relative.
I definitely will try this. Thanks for the tip.
These are great tips. I've been steaming my hair for years. It has made such a difference in my hair. While my conditioner is on my hair along with a plastic cap, I let the steam from my facial steamer get underneath the cap.
I have been doing this for my children and myself for years now but never shared. Thank you for sharing.
