    You saved my hair!! I literally just went back to relaxers on Thursday (self relaxed) and used pretty much all the tips you’ve given in so many of your videos, I only “lost” 2 strands of hair (right from the root) throughout the entire process. I can’t thank you enough for all the knowledge you consistently share. I’m currently at mid back length, pushing for waist length by December/January 🤞
    Oh and that deep conditioner is the truth! My natural hair and newly relaxed hair love it!

    Thank you for the DIY steaming. My budget will not let me be great so I have to put the steamer on the back burner. I’m really trying to get a routine together for my relaxed hair but I seemed to get overwhelmed with all the different products and wash day processes. I’ve decided to get a journal to track what I’m doing and what products I use (based on your guidance). I’ll keep watching and hopefully will be able to get a routine that works!

    Great video and Happy Sunday Val! Shea moisture unfortunately is a no go for me. For some reason it makes my hair shed. That is why Kera Care Humecto line is my forever choice. I must say that steaming hair definitely combats dryness and breakage which is a big game changer for me.👍🏾 In the warmer seasons I deep condition with steam once a month, and during the winter months I steam condition every other week. Did you cut your hair? Do you feel like your hair has stayed at the same length now ?

      Yes, it was cut recently. Check my last weekend vlog where I go in more detail.

      Steaming high porosity hair can whither hair over time. It can show up years later from the wear and tear it's been through. A plastic cap is enough heat to deep condition. It can put more holes in high porosity hair that can stay and thin out hair.

    Doesn’t our hair get steam from the shower? Why the additional steaming?

    • @HairliciousInc
      @HairliciousInc  2 года назад +4

      Steam from the shower is NOT comparable to using a hair steamer for 25-30 mins. I can only imagine your water bill😆

      Steam from a shower does nothing for your hair.

    This deep conditioner was a complete fail for me. It's super thick. I couldn't detangle with it. It was very heavy on my hair, it left a coating, and my strands felt parched. ☹️

    Relaxed high porosity needs more moisture. I thought washing every other week was enough. Some people wash once a week.

    I use a plastic cap, to not mess up the steamer. But other than that, we pretty much do the same thing :)
    I poke a few small holes in the plastic cap.

    • @HairliciousInc
      @HairliciousInc  2 года назад +1

      The dome is pretty big on my steamer so there’s zero mess. Poking holes, interesting!

      @@HairliciousInc before I bought my steamer I seen videos of people saying to always wear a cap.
      My hair is always super moisturized, I don’t think there is much of a difference. (Just didn’t wanna do any harm to the steamer lol)
      *im going to try it without the cap. Maybe I’m missing out 🤣💀

      Tracey, just FYI, I also have fine hair and use a mild relaxer and I follow Val's regimen and just tweak where necessary for my hair. I don't think you'll be disappointed at all.

      Please I just relaxed my hair from natural recently and I want to ask if you can recommend any relaxed hair products for me such as shampoo, conditioner, leave in, hair butter, etc for my journey. I love your hair all the way from 🇬🇭
