Thank you for this! The salon experience, for me, has been disappointing in the last few years, especially for the price. I'm tired. Going to just take time and do things at home. Thank you for this!
I get my hair professionally steamed twice a month is called a deluxe steam treatment and the lady I go to does an incredible job. It was me about 140 each time I go. I decided to purchase myself a steamer. I never felt something so good to my scalp and hair before the best way I can describe it is I can feel my heart beating in my scalp all my hair, strands moving, and my whole head breathing is like my scalp is having a orgasm I can feel the blood flowing through my head and I literally just feel every hair moving individually all of them…. And the feeling never gets old.
I wonder if the OG’s remember the Huetiful Steamer??? It was black owned and everyone had one like 10 years ago. I have no idea what happened to mine but I will definitely reinvest in one. My hair was on the grow back then.
Thank you so much!!! I have been natural for 15 months!!! It is a challenge and I would like my hair to be juicy and bouncy like yours! Can you share your hair routine!
Yea I got my steamer from Amazon for $62 they had the same one in a local store for $109, so shop around first ladies. Also with the packaging, be careful to remove all the pieces before disposing of the boxes like me. Luckily Amazon sent me another one 😁
Yes, I have a slight situation now 😉 love the steamer, I gifted my daughter that steamer, easy to put away, I purchased the steamer on wheels. Like always great content and beautiful results, I was using a shower cap at first and then tried your method without, the steamer has really lessened my frizz balls on the side
New sub .. i agree with everything you said.as I sit here trying to find instructions on how to do.....1st time. Needed this, thanks. Mine is steaming right now. Gonna do a journey too.❤🙋🏾♀️
Onece a week is fine no more than that because of:Hygral fatigue, also known as over-conditioned hair, is a condition that occurs when hair is given too much moisture and doesn't have enough protein to strengthen the hair cuticle. This can happen when someone uses too many moisturizing products and doesn't include protein treatments in their hair care routine. God Bless.💝🙏❤️
Great video! Thank you for this information. How different is a hair steamer from hair dryer? Hot oil treatment/sitting under dryer vs Hair product and sitting under steamer?
Idk if you got your question answered, so I’ll answer lol! A steamer introduces more moisture using water to your hair. The heat of the steam also helps to open your cuticles which allows the moisture from the steam and whatever treatment you’re using to penetrate more deeply. With a hair dryer, the heat also helps open your cuticles to help your treatments penetrate more deeply, but doesn’t add any extra moisture like the steamer does (water =moisture).
Thank you for this review my steamer didn’t come with a manual so this was helpful! Used it for the 1st time last night and loved it! Do you know where a manual can be found?
Great question. Yes, I use cool water to rinse the conditioner out. I've been told by multiple stylists that cool water locks in water and closes pores.
7-10 days is how often you are to steam your hair. Please don't overdo the steaming. It will give your hair the needed moisture your dry hair needs. Good luck.
Hi new subbie here. I am rocking a twa style also. I did another big chop and I appreciate you explaining how to use a steamer for your hair. Can I use this steamer without a plastic cap and how long do I steam for?
Hi Chiniqua! Thank you for choosing to subscribe! I really appreciate you joining our Curl Friend community. I actually forgot to say that you should never wear a plastic cap under the steamer because the cap will act as a barrier to the steam penetrating your hair. So no plastic cap. You can steam for any amount of time. I usually do 25 minutes.
I just would like to know what did you do to grow your hair out? I cut mines like 4 months ago😅😭 & im ready for my sides to grow back out but I love with I get a cut😬. But I’m just ready do these sides to grow back now.
LOL! Listen, that's a great question. All I did was get comfortable with the akwardness of growing out and be patient. That's really all you can do. Thank you for watching.
So steaming my hair has been really beneficial in my hair growth journey. I wanted to know, would you or have you added anything to the distilled water for an added boost? Is it possible without damaging the steamer? Like clove or rosemary water steam for an extra kick. Please let me know. 😊
Oh this is a great question. You actually should use distilled water for electronics and the manual says to use distilled water to avoid mineral build-up; I don't follow directions. LOL!. I think you should be able to add some lavendar drops or rosemary drops into the water tank as it steams. I'm actually going to try this. Thank you!
I never comment, love your videos. I have this exact Steamer , it was a waste of money and stopped working after a few uses. I only used distilled water, I have 3 large bottle still in my closet. I should have heeded warning from the reviews. I only used it 5 times. Waste of my $
Oh no! I'm sorry you're having a bad experience with this steamer. I've had a great experience and it's weird because you're doing all the right things. There's tons of other options for hair steamers. I recently purchased a steaming cap, and like it, but it doesn't actually steam the hair.
Please mommy my hair is very hard and anything I visit the saloon to wash my hair I always regret because the hair dresser will just be doing it anyhow and it's making me feel pain so please can I wash my hair home and how to make it soft😢
I'm literally sitting under my steamer now, the same one....love t 🥰😍
Yes! I love to see it.
Thank you for this! The salon experience, for me, has been disappointing in the last few years, especially for the price. I'm tired. Going to just take time and do things at home. Thank you for this!
Oh my goodness….same here!! Salon prices are extremely high😩😩 So, I said to myself it’s time to learn home hair care!!!

OMG!! You’re a true OG natural. LOL! I remember the Huetiful Steamer. You took me back with this one.
Been saying I need to pull mine out of storage. I loved that thing
Yessss!!! I was just trying to purchase another one! What happened to Heutiful???????
I have 2 of them , 1 is working 🤒😄
@@NaturallyShauniece hi there, what about oils? Are they not meant to be added to the water?
What is the difference, if any, between sitting under a dryer with deep conditioner & a plastic cap vs using a hair steamer?
Thank you so much!!!

How do you like your roller steamer? I was looking at the roller one but still considering countertops steamer.
Listen, I’m currently looking to upgrade my hood dryer for one on wheels. Game changer.

Do u rinse hair after steaming???
Great information thanks for sharing 😊. I just subscribed

This is a game charger... I just paid $125.00 in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. I'm making the purchase today!
Hi, what are the steps when doing a steam treatment?? I am confused as to when I should wash my hair. Do you wash before or after the steam treatment?

Your hair looks so healthy
Thanks so much for this review. 💕 I’ve been researching, so this is super helpful!
Before I moved, my stylist had a steamer. No extra charge. Now that I move it has been a challenge. I miss her.
It's hard finding a good, well priced stylist these days
I gotta cop me a steamer!
Yes!! Go ahead and get you a steamer sis! It’s really is a great investment
After conditioner need to wash or not
Thank you for this review my steamer didn’t come with a manual so this was helpful! Used it for the 1st time last night and loved it! Do you know where a manual can be found?
Hello. Thanks for watching! I believe the manual was at the bottom of the box, but I'm not sure since its been so long.
Hi, in what steps do you use the steamer? Before you wash your hair or after?
Hello I steam after I was; so on clean washed hair. I used a conditioner and no cap.
I should have bought a Q-Redew when it came out. It’s always sold out now. Do they even sell that machine anymore?
When you wash the deep conditioner out after the steam treatment do you wash the deep conditioner out with cold water?
Great question. Yes, I use cool water to rinse the conditioner out. I've been told by multiple stylists that cool water locks in water and closes pores.

What happens if I over steam my hair ?
Even if it’s just water & nothing else

Omg. You still say TWA? Brings back memories. 😩😩
I have a dryer the same shape and you right the size requires storage and its a pain. i would love one of these those. How hot does the steam get?
The steam gets very hot. I have to wear a towel so when the water drip it doesn’t burn.
@@NaturallyShauniece thank you, it sounds like it could cause harm.
Great investments, it allows us to buy the high end products if desired, saving money on the service
BINGO!! Invest and save on the in salon service!
Can I use Filtered or reverse osmosis water with it. Those dont haveinetal deposits?
Oh, I bought the steamer cap! Does it give good results as the hooded one!!!
I tried it once 2 months ago and it burnt my scalp and not my hair is falling out 😢!

How do you empty the water out from the base.
Does anyone knows if the hair steamers help with dandruff?
How well does the water dry up

Me too Good looking out Lol
I have the same steamer and cannot get the top off to pour water 😢
Where do you find the steamer you have?
Hello. The steamer I own and in this video is from Amazon. There’s a shopping link in the description box. Thank you for watching!
Do you wash your hair after the deep conditioner treatments?
Hello. Yes, I always rinse out the deep conditioner.
Do you have a video of your wash day regime (from start to finish) using the hair steamer?

I'm trying coconut milk
What water do u use?
I use regular sink water, but the instructions recommend using filtered water to preserve the steamer.
Steaming your hair weekly will make your hair pourase and will cause breakage eventually. I learnt the hard way.
i was going to get one from amazon but Walmart has then for $59 with Facial steamer
❤❤❤
Steamer made in china or what dear !
sitting there in a big hat is ridiculous
