I moisturize my hair once a week using only 4 products: Water, leave in conditioner, a water-based cream, and good old Blue Magic hair grease (blue jar) lol. In my opinion, grease is the best way to seal in moisture. I've experienced less shedding and hair breakage and don't have to moisturize my hair everyday (thank goodness because I'm lazy lol)
Practically everyone recommends coconut oil for natural hair but if you notice your hair is dry after using it, it probably isn't for you. I've being natural for 6 months and it took me way too long to realise the coconut oil was causing my hair to feel dry. My hair prefers the thicker stuff like Shea butter and castor oil. Hey OHichez ! With the mud wash, you don't need to do that detox process. I never did and was totally fine. You can also cleanse your scalp with conditioner. Just apply it like shampoo and massage it into your scalp. There are also "cleansing" conditioners but I suspect it' the same as a regular conditioner

Thanks for the tips but I have a few questions.I've had relaxed hair for as long as I could remeber and I always hated it.I cut my hair off to were my natural hair started to come in (about 2 inches).I now have box braids to let my hair grow out.Was that a good decision? And also, how long do you think it will take me to grow out my hair?
Thanks so much for the vid! Just cut off my relaxed ends after two years of transitioning. My hair has always just felt really dry and dull has been kinda worrying me especially since I do drank and ton of water but I suppose I don't really moisturize and seal my hair daily -_-
Excellent video. My hair was extremely dry, so I tried the argan oil last night, where I wet my hair, sectioned it, gently detangled it, put argan oil on the section, and two strand twisted. Woke up this morning, and my hair was super moisturized! Thank you!
Hi 👋🏾 Just chiming in on your conversation... Water by itself may be drying to hair especially if it's hard water... calcium and minerals and overall gunk in our water... try distilled water... detox hair with bentonite and rhassoul clay mixtures enhanced with olive oil, grape seed oil ... I know you said it's your coworker but perhaps you can share these tips with her and see how it works for her. Hoping it helps.😍
newphillygirl Thanks! I live in a hard water place and my hair is always dry after washing it! I'll try it out but its hard as I live in the UK and I dont know where to buy it. It seems that you can't get it very easily here
Naptural5, I have followed your channel for years. Your inspirational videos have really helped me with my "natural journey". Did the BIG chop in 2012, and have never looked back, now I'm in the process of making my own hair products, and again, my inspiration comes from you.
I’m back with you. I’ve been lazy AF! Made your mango butter and black soap wash last night. One of my biracial daughters has ‘my’ hair and we are just celebrating all these natural products I’ve ordered and what you e taught me to make. The rose water made her squeal! She’s 10..but I was squealing too. Smells. So. Good.
great job. you cute too. just wanted say tap water has chemicals like chloride that promotes dryness among other bad things. I use distilled water, my hair is less dry when using it compared to tap water.
I've been following your methods for the last few days and have already noticed a difference - my hair feels softer, shinier and healthier. Thank you so much!
I have verrry thick hair, but it hates heavy butters. It prefers something extremely light. So I made my own butter/cream that's very light, with cupuacu butter, Aloe Vera butter, coconut oil, castor oil, and babassu oil. If any of you out there have hair like mine, and you want to try it for yourself, go pick up those things online, make it and see if it works for you! :D
mine too. u probably have dense hair with fine strands. my strands are fine even tho it’s VERY dense. my hair doesn’t like oils or butters 😩 i may need to make my own too some type of super light butter
Your recipe looks great for those of us with similar needs. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and inspiring me to continue to find my own mixture. Watching the video in January 2023!
Thank you for taking the time to explain the mystery of natural hair and why it will never stop going back to dry. I always felt I didn't do it right or wasn't spending enough money on THE product to give me "good" hair. Sincerely THANK YOU for this video
Hi Whitney. I just want to say that your channel is my absolute favorite for natural hair tips! My hair type is almost identical to yours, which is why I choose to seek you for hair advice. This video, like all your other videos, is very informative, not to mention, right on time. Before watching this video, I was sitting here with conditioner in my hair, contemplating which products to use today to combat dryness. I've been natural for 2.5 yrs, and your tutorials have helped me throughout this journey more than you will ever know. Now, I'm off to fill my spray bottle w/water and aloe vera juice, lol. Thanks!
I started watching your videos and decided to go natural for the 3rd time in my life. I love your videos and I think you have one of the best channels on YT. I love your vibe and your hair. And you are beautiful. Keep up the great work. And thank you.
Whit I want to thank you for all your DIY tips. My hair is growing down my back (it use to hit my shoulders as in my post pix) and never grown pass them. Since I have been following your tips and tweaking them for my hair (3C with a 4A crown) the crown is finally getting closer to the texture of the rest of my hair. I brag about all I have learn from you and pass it on to my friends. I love, love my hair now that I understand how to naturally care for it and I gladly give the props to you. Keep doing what you are doing.
I can see that your hair has grown so beautifully, and most of all, it's healthy as well. Your channel is so beneficial and I hope that a lot of women that have relaxed hair will come their senses and try going natural again. Thank you for such motivational tips, I will use this method (currently suffering with dry hair) and patiently wait on the results!
I have been using aloe vera juice since 2012 based on your advice in a previous video. I have a 32 ounce bottle of aloe vera juice in my refrigerator right now. You offer so many good tips. Keep it coming. Thank you so much for the information that you share. Have a good week:)
you should be a teacher. do seminars, travel the world with your message. i loooove watching and learning from you! I appreciate the knowledge you spread and have applied a lot to my own life. i thank you Whitney! and my hair thanks you as well :) xo
I want to say thank you💝 you have inspired me to keep continue wearing my natural hair out since 2010"! I appreciate all your videos that help to know there is beauty in my 4c and by showing me all the homemade way I can make at home! I have been following since 2010, I been natural since 2010 and proud of it !💝💝💝 thank you!💝👍
The aloe Vera juice and water mixture is....THE BEST! I finally tried it on my transitioning hair and the knots are melting away and my hair feels so moisturized. Thank you!
I spent a couple of weeks with a curly, wrapped updo because I wasn't at home with my usual products and didn't really know what to do. I just sprayed water on it with a bottle everyday and sometimes applied Vaseline which I usually hate to use, and redid the twists and was good to go. After a few weeks of that, I washed my hair. Of course, the Vaseline took a few washes to remove. But when I got out of the shower and looked in the mirror, what a difference! I had always underestimated the power of just water and I had always been drawn away from Vaseline, I thought it was actually bad for your hair. But I guess that daily moisture and the occasional Vaseline to seal and not really over stressing my hair just made it... FANTASTICALLY moisturizerized. My hair feels thick and full and soft and just retains moisture like it never has. I will continue to moisturizerize and seal in conjunction with my new flexi rod regimen. I'm gonna be trying that out this week. But yea, my gosh, water is so good for your hair! Especially sealed. Who knew, lol.
You the only natural person that I follow...right now I keep my hair braided under a quick weave or sew-in...I did a big chop in... 2012 NOT BECAUSE I WANTED TOO BUT HAD TOO after my daughter was hit by a 18-wheeler on the highway in 2012...she survived with many broken bones..I call her the bionic woman now..she went natural that year too because of all the blood and matted hair I had to cut it all off so now she is natural and so am I...now we are at the stage of med to try get long and healthy...my hair will grown if you put plant grow on it or never comb it...it just grows for no particular reason, I guess I am just bless in that area.. but my daughter has to work at it...so in saying all this...I just want to say thank you for allowing us into your home and teaching black woman how to better nourish our hair ...God bless you and I will keep you and your family in my prayers..
I know that this is an older video, but thank you for this. I just took braids out, and my hair has been feeling quite resistant to all forms of moisture that I use. But I will give my hair time to repair and continue my daily moisture regiment. Thanks again!
Thank you soooo much for your helpful tutorials. It had helped me greatly to be natural and free. My hair texture is like a 4b/4c. I went from being told I have centrifugal alopecia and that it is progressive to the 3 bald patches growing in healthy, thick and strong. To God be glory. I wore 2 wigs from November-June. I did the big chop in November. I've been taking hairfinity, biotin 5000mg, zinc, vitamin D3 2000mg & fish oil. My external regimen for my hair has included aloe vera juice & water along with your mixture of recommended oils and shea butter. I also cowash sometimes twice a week because I run and work out now. Thank you for helping a sista to understand and appreciate that our hair needs tender loving care like you would do with a plant or any other living being. Most importantly. ..I thank God. You are a an asset. Appreciatively, Dlivnlife
i found out my hair was dry because my body was starved for nutrients. Had to change my diet as natural hair will clearly reflect what's going on in the body. It's important (even more so if you are very deficient) to nourish the hair from the inside and out. My focus is not my hair but my health but of course healthy hair reflects a healthy body.
Totally agree about natural hair being dry. Products tend to make my scalp itch so I just go with the flow and let my hair be its unpredictable self. Great video. And water is AMAZING! its my bf when I need some moisture. You really just need to take the time to brush it through your hair and spruce it in. But don't forget to moisture regularly and seal any water moisture.
You are literally my hair hero, lol. I have similar hair texture as you so your pics and videos give me drive to continue this journey though it requires lots of work and dedication. I just want it super long already, lol. Peace and blessings to you queen!
It's not that natural hair is always dry, it's just that it need water everyday (or every other day). Our hair is actually like a plant. Would you say that a plant is naturally dry? No, but it's just that plants need water everyday (or every other day) in order to sustain themselves. They need to be watered regularly, or they will wither away. Same thing with out hair! It is a plant that needs water regularly.
This video was really informative though. I didn't know shea butter isn't considered a moisturiser.gonna have to get myself some aloe Vera juice. Thanks for the great vid!😊
Thank you so very much - I watched others and come back to your every time. I used the water only for awhile, but that became taxing on a daily basis esp in the winter - not good for me. My hair is very curly, kinky when dry and the wash and go just doesn't work for me, but that's probably because I don't keep it trimmed - I have yet to find some one who just wants to cut it all off. You have been a true blessing to us all. Again, thank you and continued best wishes. (I'm 69 yrs young and I follow your advice, my hair is beginning to really grow out)
I was using different oils for a couple of months, as oil-treatments and using them as leave-in-treatments, but I still felt my hair was dry (my hair is scandinavian, pretty straight, dry and has split ends) no matter how much oil I used! But then I tried this method, the moisture + sealant, and now I can actually feel and see a difference, and my hair has grown suprisingly much (since my ends aren't dry and don't break off as much now that my hair is moisturised). My hair can, of course, look a bit oily afterwards, because of my light/straight hairtexture, but I don't mind at all! :)
Maybe the oils you are using are too heavy for your hair. Try Jojoba oil. It is super light weight and still seals in moisture. I have super thick hair so I stopped using Jojoba because I need something much heavier such as castor oil and Shea butter.
Thank you so much! I had to come and revisit because I am currently stuggling with dryness. I have high porosity hair and I haven't figured out how to keep it moisturized everday without manipulating it everday. Such a hard balance.
This may not apply to everyone but I have faithfully moisturized my for m entire natural hair journey(2 years) and my hair was still dry brittle and breaking off at the ends as a result. Now what I discovered is that shampoo and conditioner matters to! I was using Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Shampoo or the Yucca and Baobab, V05 Coconut conditioner, and Tressemme Naturals Conditioner and after using those products my hair was dry. Moisturizing didn't really help much. So I switched to Herbal Essence Hello Hydration Conditioner and Pantene Cowash.....HUGE, HUGE difference in the moisture of my hair. Wish I'd have found this out sooner.
Your page rocks!!!! I just went natural a year ago and my hair is really growing out! I am always looking for natural hair help and I can tell ur page is going to help me out a lot! Your hair is soooo BEAUTIFUL!😍 keep up the great work!
Thank You!!!! I can't Thank you enough. I bought Cantu Shea moisture leave in conditioner and I am in looove with my hair!!! I had No idea about thicker hair =thicker moisturizer. THIS video changed my hair life! I was using water and olive oil,soo not enough moisture for me. I'm so so so happy now.😀😀😀 Thank you!
This has to be the most helpful video about natural hair care I've found!!! Everyone talks about oils and moisture, but I was confused since I couldn't find concrete definitions of either of them! (I had an idea but no straightforward definition) But this has finally answered my questions! Thanks so much!!
Awesome video. Your tips transformed my hair. I keep a spray bottle with water on my counter. I mist daily and seal. My hair loves it! Also I finger detangle and co wash. No combs or brushes and no silicones. Thank you so much!
*After trying so many products for shampoo. I found that after just one use Argan rain Shampoo really helped me out. The itching seemed to stop right away.*
Thank you!! I never knew that water moisturises your hair, I always thought wetting my hair would damage it but this makes so much more sense! This is so helpful 😊
This video helped me! I have dry thick hair, just up to my shoulders and my hair never stays curly only when i condition it, but then the curls, leave and turn frizzy.
Thank you! I live in Mass as well. As you know we had a horrific winter. I feel kinda dumb now. Clearly the dry air is drying my hair out and I need to put it back daily. The olive oil wasn't working in the back of head where my curls are tighter. My BFF made me 3 jars of Shea butter mix so I'm good to go!
WOW! Your hair has tripled in thickness since this video!! I mean, it was still beautiful here and but it has since blossomed into an even more beautiful mane!
I'm still trying to find my balance because, when I put oily products in my hair, all of my skin breaks out so I'm trying to find something that works for my hair and makes my skin happy. :)
I used to have the same issue but now I usually run a small cottonpad with alcohol around my hairline (not the hair) after I add any oils to my hair. Also, I sleep with a satin hair bonnet/scarf and a cotton pillow case instead of a satin pillowcase to keep the oil off my face.
Thank you so much for this video!!! I use aloe vera juice as a leave in conditioner and when my hair is getting close to needing to be washed. I find that when my hair is dirty, aloe vera juice refreshes my curls. BUT Thanks to your video, I am using it daily with water, like you said. My hair is 4a in the back but a 3c in the front. So, thanks to your video, I am using a dense sealer in the back and a lighter oil in the front. God bless and thank you!
thank you thank you thank you for one of the most informative videos. Nothing about what product to buy just straight to it on how to honestly grow natural hair. all the ladies are appreciated for what they offer. But you are appreciated for just putting it out there with not extras and pleasantly doing so. happy new year.
This is a question I have had for ages and haven't figured it out. I know that it's better to throw your hair up in a protective style and leave it for a few days but it's also best to moisturize and seal in your hair everyday.... How do you do both??
+naarahformusic Try leaving it in a bun / ponytail, then getting an applicator bottle / dropper and a spray bottle of water. Use the water to spray your hair and the bun and use the dropper to get on the inside. Run it through your scalp (in the direction the hair is going) and then squeeze some inside of your bun. i just came up with that lol. I had to visualize it. Maybe that will help?
This was a great one! Though I already knew all this info, the way you broke it down just kinda woke me up.. specifically the part about not giving up even though your hair may be super dry. I've let my hair get to the "damaged" level of dryness and I've been feeling like there's nothing that seems to work to make it feel fabulous and moisturized again. But then I watched your vid and was like, "You know she's right. You let it get too far and now you have to just keep moisturizing consistently until your hair catches up again." So thanks for this one!!
Is it possible, that you some people don't need to moisturize everyday? Because I feel like I can go 2-3 days and my hair will be fine. When I tried to do that(mosturize every day), my hair would end up frizzing up and feeling more drier than normal? I have to use shea butter and flax seed gel to seal in my moisture and I am 3C. I guess ill give it whirl again!
I completely agree. I don't moisturize my hair every single day because it will frizz up and get weighed down. I have low porosity hair and I don't need to moisturize everyday because my hair retains moisture well for 2-3 days. So if you don't need to moisturize your hair every day, then I wouldn't do it because then you could risk over moisturizing your hair, which is bad :)
I moisturize my hair every 2-3 days as well. I think you should just moisturize your hair as needed. Some people need to moisturize everyday and some can go longer.
Hey JaySymonLee Just keep doing whatever's working for you! I put "daily" in quotations because I used to do the water and butter application daily, but found it unnecessary after awhile. Now I only use it as needed! Some weeks it's daily, so weeks it's every other day, sometimes it's once a week! Just depends on the weather and my activity, so do what's right for you!
Thank u, i'm from Italy and afro hair is very inusual, i stress my hair since i was a child, now i try to be gentle with my impossible hair thank u so much!!!!!
Thank you so much. This was the best! I was using a butter on my hair daily and it was weighing it down. Now I realized I only need a light oil for my 3c hair.
Thank you so much for this video! I never used to moisturize my hair when it was being straightened weekly and now my hair is SUPER dry! I have gotten into the habit of moisturizing and sealing but I never saw any results. And I just recently BC and it still looks dry, but I think I just need to give my hair some time and switch to a heavier butter like shea. I will definitely try your DIY, thank you so much for your videos. You're a god send.
Thank you. Your videos really help me on my hair journey. I have been wondering if it was not healthy to moisturize my hair everyday. Thank you i get most of my information, natural hair recipes and do's and dont's from you and research. Again Thank you
I have very dry hair and sensitive scalp I have been adding water to my hair for a short time watching ur video I have learnt a lot about moisturising my hair many thanks.I will continue mizellie
whit, i just want to thank you for everything. you have no idea how helpful your videos have been to been over the years. learning what works best for my hair. can't wait to try the tea bag rinse to help with shedding and ways to keep my hair moist. thank you thank you rock...😀😀
So grateful for this vid. Been realllly frustrated with the constant dryness of my hair. I realise now that I'm not moisturising it enough and it's not healthy presently but I will stick it out. :)
How often do you moisturize? I do the LOC method everyday, but I read online about "hydral fatigue" (where your hair gets damaged after constantly wetting and drying it because the cortex keeps having to go up and down) and now I'm confused...should I do your method everyday or will that cause hydral fatigue?
Maybe don't put water in your hair every day but use a water based moisturiser daily? Not forgetting to seal in that moisture with an oil or butter (depending on the thickness of your hair)
That is why people put oils on their hair before washing ;- especially coconut oil it is absorbed into the hair shaft and then when you do wash your hair, you don't have the problem of hygral fatigue, you must also remember that our hair (curly hair) is dry by nature, so even spraying some water or moisture on it to prevent it from getting dry and brittle isn't going to do it in.
Omg! this tutorial could not have been posted at a better time. I am transitioning and I just took out my sewin, omgosh, my hair is deadly dry. I made the shea butter mixture, use it on Friday and Saturday and again this morning, as I hair is still dry hair. After watching this video, it all makes a lot more sense. WATER! Our hair needs daily hydration with water as well. Well, I just spray water, and what a difference. Thanks for the reminder.
I don't fully agree with the idea of "coilier hair, heavier sealant". Or maybe I'm just the excption to the rule. My hair is somewhere around 4b/c but I also have low porosity hair and even with a dime-size amount of shea butter, it still feels greasy and weighed down. The one sealant I have seen that seals in the moisture and does not weigh my hair down is Avocado Oil.
I know what you mean. My hair is multi-textured - with 2c, 3c and 4a - and has low porosity. Although my curl pattern is tight, if anything remotely dense touches my hair, all I get is crunchy, hard hair without any curl pattern. I've been natural since last year August, and I'm yet to find anything that moisturises my hair well, and complements my curls.
She suggested that coilier textures may want to start at the heavier oils and then work your way down as appropriate. I have low porosity 4b/c hair. I started off with shea butter but had to be very light with it in order to use. I cannot use coconut oil or castor oil at all but I have had better success with jojoba butter and avocado butter used lightly to seal. Also my steamer is my best friend!!
Ok, new natural here. I've been told to moisturizer & then seal. From what u have explained if I spray water & cold aloe vera juice & the cold juice closes my cuticles how will the moisture get in? Please help me understand this natural hair thing. I am in information overload & I'm confused. Love your videos :)
Is once a week too little or not?
Practically everyone recommends coconut oil for natural hair but if you notice your hair is dry after using it, it probably isn't for you. same
my hair loves coconut oil in the spring/summer months. Avocado oil is fall/winter for me
I ended up trimming my hair every 3-4 weeks because coconut oil was drying it out so badddd
I use castor oild and real shea butter too. But since the shea butter is harf I mix in castor oil with it and then apply it on my scalp and some on my hair
+Cristina Applebottom Where do you purchase your shea butter? I am leery of the dark yellow kind at the Asian supply stores.
She is soooo on the money when she said to moisturize with water. I stopped using store bought moisturizers and started using water and oil and I have seen my mane grow and retain length ever since. My experience.
yup. our hair loves water!
Throughout the week, you just water and an oil?
+yumiko0017
yesss i just started this. just hot water in a spritz bottle and seal with an oil or butter. i seal with shea. best thing evahhh
I like your statement. I have been doing WOW and only add oils to seal ends or for Prepooing. Water and oil is the truth!
Wash and gos work best when your hair is dripping wet. I always do mine in the shower.
I wish I was half as good at taking care of my hair as you are at taking care of yours
Ikr
You can be. Just keep doing it.
Maggie Martin it's true I'm still learning but I'm going back to my roots lol grease and water grew my hair as a kid now I spray it with water and put my moisture in now my hair is growing so much omg I stop going to the hair salon and I stop relaxing it my poor hair was crying for me to stop lol

best hair channel on the site.
Yup, I know right😊✌👍👍👍
I've been lying to myself. 4c using just a dab of coconut oil as sealant and wondering why my hair is dry... BYE.
GIRL SAME. It wasn't until I started using shea butter mixes and then I realized how dumb I was to use just coconut oil in my hair -.-
Truth!!
What oil is best then? 😩
mel231 Shea butter would do... Esp. with its thicker consistency compared to coconut oil.
Prilla D. My hair is very fine so shea butter is just too thick :( Thanks for getting back to me though!
Excellent video. My hair was extremely dry, so I tried the argan oil last night, where I wet my hair, sectioned it, gently detangled it, put argan oil on the section, and two strand twisted. Woke up this morning, and my hair was super moisturized! Thank you!

Maybe she's not sealing with any oil. Once the water evaporates it goes back to being dry without oil.

Yep my hair is coarse m needs heavy oils. But I cut castor with almond or coconut. Or it's too sticky
same here- my hair loves oil, esp. Castor
Hahaha
Me too
Naptural5, I have followed your channel for years. Your inspirational videos have really helped me with my "natural journey". Did the BIG chop in 2012, and have never looked back, now I'm in the process of making my own hair products, and again, my inspiration comes from you.
you're "naturally" the BEST!!

Ric777888 great tip 👍🏾
I've been following your methods for the last few days and have already noticed a difference - my hair feels softer, shinier and healthier. Thank you so much!
I have verrry thick hair, but it hates heavy butters. It prefers something extremely light. So I made my own butter/cream that's very light, with cupuacu butter, Aloe Vera butter, coconut oil, castor oil, and babassu oil. If any of you out there have hair like mine, and you want to try it for yourself, go pick up those things online, make it and see if it works for you! :D
Thank you! Will try your recipe.
Ms Kay me too.
mine too. u probably have dense hair with fine strands. my strands are fine even tho it’s VERY dense. my hair doesn’t like oils or butters 😩 i may need to make my own too some type of super light butter
YesThank You for this video. I learned that i need butter for my hair not light oils. i have 4c hair and it is very thirsty.lol
Thanks!
The water and oil works very well for my hair!! Also I've learned that the heavier oils are best for me! Through trial and error! Thank you naptural85
I started watching your videos and decided to go natural for the 3rd time in my life. I love your videos and I think you have one of the best channels on YT. I love your vibe and your hair. And you are beautiful. Keep up the great work. And thank you.
I like your style and personality... very classy.
YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TheCreativeMission i agree
I want to say thank you💝 you have inspired me to keep continue wearing my natural hair out since 2010"! I appreciate all your videos that help to know there is beauty in my 4c and by showing me all the homemade way I can make at home! I have been following since 2010, I been natural since 2010 and proud of it !💝💝💝 thank you!💝👍
The aloe Vera juice and water mixture is....THE BEST! I finally tried it on my transitioning hair and the knots are melting away and my hair feels so moisturized. Thank you!
Thanks for the video Hun! This is why you're listed as one of my favorite featured channels on my channel :D
girl, that hair is BEAUTIFUL!!! I'm always in awe. It's just awesome!
This helps a lot! I have always tried to add the heavy creams, thinking that was moisturizer, but now I know better.
Appreciatively,
Dlivnlife
i found out my hair was dry because my body was starved for nutrients.
Is that a twist out? It's soooo freakin cute!
Sava good observation my brother
Sava you are 100 % on 👉 point!
6 years later still benefiting from this advice. 💕 you ROCK!!!
Thanks a lot. This video was very helpful and very informative. I was already getting frustrated with my dry hair
My hair is on its way back to life! I wish someone had directed me before now but, it's cool. I'm ready for this "new hair"!
One third of the way in the video, I got up, moisturized my hair and drank a bottle of water! LOL
Naptural, you are so good at sharing hair information without doing the most.
Love it.
Thankyou.
Very, very good advice. Although I keep my hair extremely cropped I still enjoyed your videos :)
I'm so so so happy now.😀😀😀
Thank you!
Sigh... Naptural85, you are one of the prettiest mommies ever. Really, just great beauty and great hair. Take care! Peace.
This has to be the most helpful video about natural hair care I've found!!! Everyone talks about oils and moisture, but I was confused since I couldn't find concrete definitions of either of them! (I had an idea but no straightforward definition) But this has finally answered my questions! Thanks so much!!
this video made me want an iced cold glass of water lol...other than that, it was chock full of helpful tips, so thanks!!
britthappens17 me too 😂. im thirty now lol
Awesome video. Your tips transformed my hair. I keep a spray bottle with water on my counter. I mist daily and seal. My hair loves it! Also I finger detangle and co wash. No combs or brushes and no silicones. Thank you so much!
Thank you Naptural85 :-) My hair lives by your advice, will be doing the aloe and water thing...Making my Vitacost order now.
So happy to help Trin Tully-Stark !
So happy to have found this! Love your vids!
This is a really great video nap! Thank you
Thank you so much, my hair has been so dry but I haven't been moisturizing it daily but I will now.
Always have to come back here because these new girls just ain't cutting it.
Thicker hair can definately use oils too
thank you thank you thank you for one of the most informative videos. Nothing about what product to buy just straight to it on how to honestly grow natural hair. all the ladies are appreciated for what they offer. But you are appreciated for just putting it out there with not extras and pleasantly doing so. happy new year.
I agree, I like the way she provides excellent info, but keeps it straight to the point, no side-barring.
Thanks!! I've been experimenting with moisturizing and protective styling so I'll give this a shot! :)
Ok so THIS VIDEO helped me so much. Now I truly know what I have and haven't been doing to help my hair. Thank you so much!❤️❤️
When you say water do u mean like soak hair or more like dampen it. My hair is short so i don't want super shrinkage after wetting it
I have dry caucasian hair, well jewfro, and this was so helpful. The aloe vera tip with oil based sealant was amazing. Thanks so much.
This was very helpful thanks .
Thank u, i'm from Italy and afro hair is very inusual, i stress my hair since i was a child, now i try to be gentle with my impossible hair thank u so much!!!!!
Thanks for this video. My hair is so dry. I have trying all kind of moisturizers but nothing really changed. What can you instead of aloa Vera juice
Vennessa Charles try the gel mixed with an oil
Vennessa Charles did you seal the moisture in as well?
Thank you so much. This was the best! I was using a butter on my hair daily and it was weighing it down. Now I realized I only need a light oil for my 3c hair.
Totally amazing and inspirational
Thank you so much for this video! I never used to moisturize my hair when it was being straightened weekly and now my hair is SUPER dry! I have gotten into the habit of moisturizing and sealing but I never saw any results. And I just recently BC and it still looks dry, but I think I just need to give my hair some time and switch to a heavier butter like shea. I will definitely try your DIY, thank you so much for your videos. You're a god send.
I really like your hair, what can I do to have great hair like yours?
I wrote everything down. Will do. Thank you so much. Thank God. Your hair is amazing. Excellent job. I'm baffled.
How do I know if I am over moisturizing my hair?
Thank you. Your videos really help me on my hair journey. I have been wondering if it was not healthy to moisturize my hair everyday. Thank you i get most of my information, natural hair recipes and do's and dont's from you and research. Again Thank you
she explains it really well. finally i get it
I have very dry hair and sensitive scalp I have been adding water to my hair for a short time watching ur video I have learnt a lot about moisturising my hair many thanks.I will continue mizellie
Can the water and aloe Vera be used on little girls hair also?
Yes
whit, i just want to thank you for everything. you have no idea how helpful your videos have been to been over the years. learning what works best for my hair. can't wait to try the tea bag rinse to help with shedding and ways to keep my hair moist. thank you thank you rock...😀😀
Thank you so much. I will take your advice
This is the best video I've EVER seen on maintaining moisture! Thank you so much!
Ok, new natural here. I've been told to moisturizer & then seal. From what u have explained if I spray water & cold aloe vera juice & the cold juice closes my cuticles how will the moisture get in? Please help me understand this natural hair thing. I am in information overload & I'm confused. Love your videos :)
the water/aloe vera juice is the moisture. then you seal it in with oils.
I just did the big chop a month ago so I'm new to the natural hair community & confused so this helped SO MUCH, Whitney!!! Thank you!
