I started listening to this video. I don't listen everyday like I want. Did notice a few greys disappeared. There's another video for gray hair that's longer. I haven't tried it yet. I usually just loop it. Just look around RUclips videos and read the comments and decide if you want to use it. Thanx for your videos!💐

      Hey there, God Loves You
Hey, did you know God loves you more than you can imagine? He created you and wants a close relationship with you. The Bible says in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
      Our Problem
We all mess up and make mistakes-this is what the Bible calls sin. Sin separates us from God and messes up our lives (Romans 3:23). It leads to a broken relationship with God and, ultimately, death (Romans 6:23).
      God's Solution
But here’s the amazing part: God loves us so much that He sent Jesus, His Son, to take care of our sin problem. Jesus lived a perfect life and died on the cross for our sins. Then He rose from the dead, proving He has power over sin and death (Romans 5:8).
      What We Need to Do
God offers us a fresh start and eternal life through Jesus. To accept this gift, we need to repent or turn away from our sins, believe in Jesus, and decide to follow Him. The Bible promises in Romans 10:9, "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
      A Simple Prayer
If you want to start a relationship with God, you can pray something like this:
"God, I know I’ve made mistakes and need Your forgiveness. I believe Jesus died for my sins and came back to life. I turn away from my sins and invite You into my heart. I want to follow You from now on. Thank You for loving me. Amen."
      What’s Next?
If you prayed that prayer, congratulations! You’ve started an amazing journey with God. Try to find a local church where you can learn more about Him, read the Bible, and connect with others who love Jesus.
God bless you, Jesus loves you & I love you.

I'm in my late 20s and I think grey and white hair is so gorgeous, always have. I have a couple friends with a few strands and I keep kinda hoping I'll get some too 😂 Anyway, I know it comes with texture challenges, and the change can be hard, and as Whitney mentions in the video, some people can be gross in their attitudes towards people with grey/white hair--but since it seems that you've chosen not to dye yours, I do hope you have grown or are growing to love yours. I think that if I saw you on the street I would be doing a double take just because I thought your hair was pretty!
I'm going to have to start making a point to compliment women with grey hair now. I usually keep it to myself as I'm a bit shy but it seems that a lot of people here would appreciate it.

For some colouring grey or not may have nothing to do with readiness to embrace/accept grey or anything deeper. It can be as simpe as a preference not to have grey hair - i.e. purely vanity😅 which is where I happily land. For others there may be other reasons to coluur grey for example as stated in this video. I prefer the no grey look and intend to stay on that train forever 🎉❤

I felt this !!! The last 5 years whooped my behind… early menopause, high stress, major life changes! I’m now early 40’s and the white hair ( grey just skipped me altogether) is having a party and invited all its friends , cousins and coworkers over to play too! I’ve embraced so much of what I can’t control, but haven’t made a decision yet on what I want to do with my aging follicles. I loced my hair a year ago and love it, but not the silver strands weaving its way down them.

Definitely resonates! I'm 47.. stayed greying in my 30's. Got tired of dying it and decided to embrace my grey for 3 years. It was ok because I was married and my husband supported it. But now I'm going through a separation, preparing for divorce and I too feel invisible! I've had sooo many thoughts of coloring it.

Whitney, thank you so much for this conversation. I’m 33, about 50% gray and it’s been a really rough experience. For me, it has pissed me off more when people tell me not to color my hair over when people told me not to big chop back in the day 😂 they don’t have to fight this these gray wires everyday! And I know myself well enough to know I’ll never be able to keep up with a color routine. But what I’m finding is it feels like a brand new head of hair that I’m struggling to figure out. It was a lot more fun figuring out products going natural in college lol. On the bright side, when my hair is cooperating with me, it’s gorgeous. Unfortunately, that only feels like 3% of the time 😂. So I’m on the journey with ya, sis. Thank you 🤎

Hi Whitney! Long time fan. Since 2011_2012!! Your video really did resonate with me. I was one of those types that would chastise people for dying their hair to cover greys. I am 47 am I am just now starting to get grey hairs that are sticking around and I wear them proudly. It's not because life was easy. I have had some pretty devastating things happen in the last 12 years but instead of the impact showing in my hair it was my body. I gained 100 lbs and became very insecure. I stopped going out, every thing. I felt like i waa an eye sore. Sometimes people even told me I was. Then i would get the lecture about covering myself up
I should embrace my body. It was hard to embrass the large empty shell of what i was. 40 lbs down I am still insecure but my thinner friends would tell me to wear what I want because there are people much worse off and they put it all out there. I was aware of this but when I looked in the mirror, I didn't see me I just saw my fat and cellulite. I still struggle with this. In the past 10 years I have worn shorts in public only a hand full of times because I was insecure about it. Over a decade wasted hiding. Recently, I have decided to embrace my myself as I see myself not by how I look. I know that makes no sense but, I see myself as strong, feminine, independent, beautiful and practical. The mirror can't always reflect those things but it is me. So I try to live as what I am instead of how I look. Strangely, it has made me more confident and more approachable. At least so far. I only started looking at things this way recently. What your video has taught me that everyone copes and overcomes differently in ways that include how we present ourselves. You should do whatever makes you feel like you. You dont need to hear this from me but I have always thought you a beautiful woman spiritually and physically. My apologies to everyone I ever chastised.

Aw this is such a beautiful message MsTigerseye! Thank you so much for sharing that 🙏🏾🙏🏾 I’m sorry to hear that you went through some things the past 12 years, and I hope you’re doing and feeling better today. You have some amazing friends who love you and it sounds like they are always going to be here for you. Having that strong support system reflects on you as a person as well, and is definitely worth celebrating and being proud of. XOXO!! ❤❤

Thank you for the raw feelings that you spoke on. I appreciate it. We live so strong as women and often don't share how we are feeling, coping and the physical and emotional effects of it all. With stress my hair thinned out, broke off in some places and just felt brittle. From almost tailbone length to at the shoulders again. I am regaining my hair and physical health. Still living with stress but such is life. I am a mother of 3 and my marriage of 16 years is filled with more lies than truths..... I really get it!

Thank you for this video. I’m 56 and I had some grey hair for a while. It was a small amount that wasn’t really visible until a little while ago. Due to stress regarding being laid off, trying to find another job, health and money issues, the greys decided they wanted to take over. I tried to embrace them, but I couldn’t. The person I was seeing in the mirror looked so tired, exhausted and defeated. I just colored my hair last week and I feel so much better. This is what I’m going to do for me. Down the road, maybe I’ll change my mind.

I recently decided to let my grays come in. my hair grows sooo fast and I just got tired of doing that dance you so accurately described! I think a huge part of me not accepting them was because I had gained a bunch of weight due to stress and that along with the grays was aging me in a way that I couldn’t deal with. Now that the weight is finally coming off, I’m realizing that they’re not so bad. Thanks so much for sharing this, it’s EXACTLY what I needed today ❤

I appreciate your honesty. Transitioning to gray hair is not easy and not for everyone. I got my first gray hair when I was 19 and was horrified. I colored my hair until I was 54. I had enough at that point and transitioned to natural gray hair and have never looked back at age 65. It’s a process! ❤

I used to dye my hair because I preferred everything to be black. But then I noticed how the dye would thin out and alter the texture of my hair and stopped immediately. I’ve learned to just embrace my grays because the alternative is not worth it to me. I’d rather healthy gray hair than thin and brittle black hair. My mindset has shifted towards aiding my body in aging gracefully than trying to cover up the aging. It’s mentally freeing.

Beautiful story…I always love when you share those special or intimate moments with us. I have had gray hair since I was 12, and it is just hereditary and I needed a second job to keep it dyed. It wasn’t a hard decision to just embrace the gray hair, but I understand we don’t always immediately do. I think that you are going to be beautiful no matter the decision to dye or not dye, because our hair plays such an important, intimate part of our lives. So do what works for you and your hair.

As I am watching this video, I am looking at the grays in my hair. I totally understand how you feel about your hair graying. I can thankfully say I did not start graying until age 50. And another good thing my gray was only at my temples. I was going through a divorce and did not want to appear as a grandmother (even though I had grandchildren), so I began dying my hair. Like you my hair grows fast, so it seemed that every few weeks I was having to redo my hair. I did that for a little over a year and decided to give in to the gray. During that time my hair was relaxed. Now in my 70’s, I am fully natural and my hair is still about 70% black. Most of the gray is in my temple areas.
I am happy to hear that with all that you have gone through, you are thriving and your business is a success. Congratulations❣️

I henna my gray hair. I used to follow it up with indigo to make it jet black, but it ended up being almost 8 hours of the paste being on my hair! I now just use the henna and I have reddish highlights and I leave it on for 4 hours. I want to lessen my reliance on the henna since it's so time consuming and decided to wear styles that conceals my grays as they grow around the my hairline.

Soooo, I used to be very pretty when I was younger. Since Covid and the loss of five immediate family members between then and now, I look old! I’m 55 and coloring my hair for so many years damaged my hair which is now thinning considerably. I try the temporary hair gel but oh my, I feel sad, it barely kinda works. I'm 43 yrs old and I stopped dying my hair last fall. My BF prefers that I keep it colored because he says that I look too young to have gray hair. Personally, I love it. Its been around 7-8 months since my last dye job so A LOT has grown out. My grays are mainly in my crown and I have a pretty well defind streak in the front. I've cut the front of my hair into layers to help get rid of some of my dyed ends and I feel like it helped with the look. When I wear it in a bun, I get a killer streak within it. When I part it on the side there is a streak in my bangs. I think it helps when you try to style the hair in a way that compliments where the gray grows out. Your idea to only dye the back sounds like a great plan. Its should be a nice way to gracefelly grow into the next stage of hair life. Thanks for sharing your thoughts in this video!!!

I shaved my head and went natural and your tips during my hair journey really helped me mentally and physically. I am now 58 and I'm not ready to embrace my greys yet. However, I love seeing them coming back very fast after I dye them. It's a sign that my hair is growing fast. I just want to say that you are an inspiration to us all when it comes to natural hair and everything else you have been through. I'm glad that you're doing well personally. You have done excellent work through out the years. You deserve the very best life has to offer. Keep doing what you do. God bless you my beautiful sister!!❤❤❤🙏🙏

Girl, I’m 27 with gray hairs in the middle front of my hair also. Graying early runs on my dad’s side of the family and I’ve had gray hairs (that have progressively increased) since I was about 19. It’s noticeable now in braids or any hairstyle I have my hair parted in. I get your reasoning for dying your hair which is ok. I’m trying to embrace my natural hair color (and I have dark skin so I don’t think gray hair wouldn’t look bad with my complexion). I for one will still respect you and your company even if you go gray. Just like men can bald in their early 20’s, people can also gray early. When did gray hair disqualify one to be in the beauty industry? Do you!

I struggle to embrace them as I look lot younger and it creates a lot of negative comments. I've tried henna but it takes so much effort and the colour isn't always good. Now I use black hair shampoo (although weekly) and feel much better! Love all your advice on here ❤

Someone once told me that you're not really supposed to go gray until your late 60s early 70s. If you're going gray prematurely it might be worth getting bloodwork to see what minerals you may be deficient in. If you're deficient in either vitamin D, iron, copper, and/or B12 that could be the cause of premature graying. Stress will also cause it, and some people have reported their gray hair reversing after the stress ended. My gray hair reversed after supplementing with B12.

Not 100% true. Genetics plays a factor as well. My dad had some gray hairs since he was 16 years old and now my sister, brothers, and I also started seeing lots of grays in our early 30s

@@sabrinarae-lym8150this is so true. I met my hubby at 35 full of grey's. His mom and dad were both white at 52. My almost 70 year old mom... Is only about 10% grey, her mum died at 99, 13 years ago, still half grey. I'm 38 and only have ever had two greys yet. During alot of stress and long COVID. I pulled them out as they were only white in the middle and we're reverting to black. My husband now 45 is almost fully grey. Still gorgeous, but it's genetic. Most of my friends of the same age are greying, but their families also were prematurely grey. I'm thankful for these genetics.

Grey hair signals 'no longer fertile.' It's amazing how much our society (however unconsciously) values a woman's ability to have children above all else about her. Even men who consider themselves feminists still react differently to physical signals a woman is able to bear children or not. Not that it's an accurate reflection of that, but it is a subconscious signal to see grey hair. Even men not looking to have children, or other women, still are valuing women subconsciously as having more 'value' if they are seen as still fertile.

    • @Keniethe
      @Keniethe 5 месяцев назад +2

I agree, I started having gray hair at 24years old. Has nothing to do with fertility.

Nope! Some women's periods don't stop until they are in their late 50s-early 60s. Until it stops pregnant happen. My friend is an L&D nurse and regularly has women in their 40s-50s in there.

    • @goodwork887
      @goodwork887 5 месяцев назад

@@jdbailey442 It's not a question of whether the signal reflects actual reality. Real or not, it is what the brain subconsciously perceives, and so that's why you see people with grey hair being treated differently when they hide their grey with no other changes. This is a youth centric society, so it sways that way here, but another society may revere the elderly, so it swings towards more respect with grey. In both cases the signal is 'left child bearing life phase and entered elder phase.'

I dyed my hair platinum. I started losing my hairline and I already wear my hair in a Caesar cut. I was feeling old and not so beautiful. I was also the heaviest I have ever been in life (214-219lbs) and it was all gained white I was suffering with mental health conditions. Once I started losing weight, I decided I need3: a drastic change. So, I dyed my hair platinum which made the hairs around my edges suddenly appear. I purchased some white hair powder to fill in those areas. I love my need color especially when I get designed shaved into my cut.
I say all that to say, I get it.

Genetics play an important part of this journey with graying or not. You are young and if you want to dye it do that but do not let society dictate to you what you should or shouldn't do. I appreciate your transparency. You are a brave woman. I started greying in my 20s & most people (sometimes myself) attributed that to being in grad school trying to get a doctorate degree. At 35, i decided no color although i loved it before natural. I am my full time hair stylist & it took A LOT to get comfortable with my hair. I worried about changes in curl patterns & having to continue to dye my hair. At 40, greys remain unruly but I'm good. I often get compliments & asked if its real. (🤨) But personal growth is what i value in life & in my appearance. Whit, you're beautiful. Keep pushing.

An older lady with beautiful super healthy long locs. Her hair was jet black. She said she rinse her hair with sage. To use sage to darken gray hair, you can boil half a cup of dried sage in two cups of water, let it sit for a couple of hours, strain it, and apply it to your hair after shampooing for 15-20 minutes. You can repeat this process weekly.

Such a meaningful conversation you have started. I also faced huge life transitions, stress, and deep uncertainty that lead to an influx of gray hair. I actually got my first cute little streak of white hair at 14 years old after my mother passed away. It wasn't very noticeable and when it was I wore it as a badge of honor. However, as soon as my life circumstances got unruly and so did my hair, I could no longer style my hair freely. With natural hair, the textures just made it look like I had something stuck in my hair, which made me look more unkempt. I looked to you for advice and you delivered. You are such a trusted voice, because you care about hair care over aesthetics. Aesthetics still matter, but not at the detriment of your hair or your integrity. Thank you for continually being a natural hair North Star.

The grays are grayinggg. My stylist recommended highlights and it’s really worked well for me. So it’s not really covering the gray but blending blonds, browns and grays so it’s less noticeable. I def feel you on the becoming invisible part. Women go through so much. What looks dignified and refined on men makes us look old, worn and undesirable…especially in the awkward stage.
