  • Today I put out a trap line for spring muskrats and soon my brother Ken will be here to help! I am using floats and colony traps and 160 body grip traps on this line.

    I started trapping muskrats almost 60 years ago, and I still love catching them. Unfortunately the population here is so low I hate to trap them. Thanks for sharing this great video and I can't wait to see more of them.

    I had one run infront of the truck while i was driving on the freeway. Takes me back to 1976 with Captain and Tennile Muskrat Love.
    Love the canoe.

    Nice video I went hard on the beavers line and picked up 20 muskrats 24 beaver and my first black beaver which are very scarce in Pittsburgh area! I will be on the line checking traps with you on Saturday. Thanks

    Not enough rats here but used to love trapping back east. Never had any colony traps.

    Huge fan of the #160s for rats. It is nice they extended the season for you all but I would worry about lost gear to spring floods. Especially in the mud like this...See ya next week!👍

      Everything is so low and not any snow we are not to worried about loosing any traps this year.

    Thanks for sharing al about muskrat trapping. Can you us muskrat glands for trapping lure? Whay animals is it good for?

      Yes, absolutely, it is used in several lures..muskrat, racoon, fox, coyote lures...
