While most people should go for the iPad, this video helped me to realize I'm one of the few who should get the Tab S7 FE. I just need a relatively affordable tablet to remotely access my desktop PC for 3D and CAD work, use as a media consumption device, and something to draw and take notes with. It's basically a laptop replacement that's way better than any stylus-equipped Windows 2-in-1 for the price. That larger screen and Samsung DeX will also make working remotely much easier. The Tab S7 FE is on sale on now where I'm from (just over $400 USD for the 6GB/128GB model, plus $86 USD for the official keyboard cover). So twice the storage of the iPad + Pencil for the same price and plenty of RAM for DeX mode.
Still mindblown at this man palming these tablets. If I see you holding a tablet with two hands, it's way too big for society haha. Great video, as always!
@@Jedimack7 Apple stylus has different sophisticated internal design and components, which is more expensive to produce. @Dakshesh Gauba its a $200 difference lol. Apple offers updates for 5 years. The Samsung is way too big to use comfortably in bed. No competition at all.
@Dakshesh Gauba The bigger display is way too heavy to carry around and is bad for being portable, and the speakers don’t matter to me because i always carry my airpods with me, or i’ll use the headphone jack if they’re charging. The best thing about android is that I can get cracked apps. I use iPad and that’s the only thing I miss on my iPad where as on my android phone I can get any apps for free. Not a big deal for rich people but for students like me paying extra money for apps is a problem

Finally a review that mentions manufacturer support! I've been debating between an Apple or Samsung tablet. Out of the 100+ reviews I've watched you are the first to mention support and to me that's something that needs to be taken into consideration, especially on the higher end more expensive tablets. Ultimately I ended up going with the S7 Plus but after just a couple of days it's beginning to feel like overkill for how I use it. The shorter support life from Samsung is also a concern. The display is amazing but app optimization is lacking for Android tablets and is somewhat ruining the experience. I may return it and go with the iPad 9 or the Air. Thank you for honest and unbiased review!
that's one of my concerns of the Samsung tablets with the performance. But for about 400$ now, I have choosen he S7FE over the iPad which has very borring old style design, no pen included (not even mention that 1st gen Apple Pencil is not really good for drawing and costs 100$). Samsung is now better than ever in term of the software support but still behind Apple. Anyway I've made my choice and so far so good :)
@@mustafat.472 Just sent my Tab S7 Plus back to Amazon. Looks like Samsung updates are ending this year (2022). I can't justify an $800 purchase on a device with only a year left of updates for it. I've got a pretty good Surface Laptop already ,so don't necessarily need a laptop replacing premium tablet. Thinking of going basic with just an iPad 9th gen.
@@DcRider05 you're right about the software updates but 1) I bought the FE which is released on 2021, so technically it might be good until end of the 2023. 2) Even if iPad gets the software supports, I would be missing the S-Pen, great design, speakers and also big screen. And just another detail, actually almost every app on Google Play is just compatible with Android 7 or newer which means you could get every single app for your device to 5-6 years old without any issue. But I agree, we might get more support.
Well, it doesn't matter that much for Android because most of the applications still work on Android 5.0. While on iOS (iPadOS) your device needs an OS update if you want to have all applications updated to the last version. I've got a Samsung Tab S2 and it still runs perfectly even though it has Android 7.0.

@@ririnnn11 yeah, but if im not wrong efficiency wise sd778g is better, which was the main point on why it was made Honestly for the same price you can go for the mipad 5 if you really dont care about the software side of things as it has a 120hz refresh rate and a snapdragon 860 Yes its not as powerful as the a13 on the ipad 9 but the ipad 9 screen hadn't changed since the ipad 7, which also doesnt have oleophobic coating and still on 60hz But honestly you wont go wrong on the tab s7 fe (specifically the wifi version), the ipad 9 and the mipad 5 honestly
I think that the IPad 9th Gen is actually a better value than both the Tab S6 Lite and Tab S7 FE. At least you will get 5-7 years if updates. Samsung will probably support their tablet for 2 years at most.

This is a great comparison, but I would like to mention that the iPad also has video out either via screen mirroring wirelessly or via a cheap hdmi converter. All other iPads can use USB C for video out. Just another note that although I have not used the Samsung stylus I do use the Apple Pencil constantly for illustration and some note taking. It has great tilt and pressure sensitivity and great accuracy too, best I have used.
@wilson clark on the ipad some apps have 2nd screen functionality. Luma fusion and procreate both have external support which I've used and I guess some other productivity apps do too? I did have the Tab s7 fe for I couple of weeks just this December. I did really like it, but the refresh rate felt ever so slightly laggy whilst drawing. So I exchanged it for the s8 plus as it was on sale and the same price as the 7 FE and is really is a great tablet.
I was gifted an Ipad 9. It's my first Apple device ever. People make such a huge deal of the display not being laminated. I don't see an issue and it's a LOT cheaper to repair if that front glass gets cracked. I'm pretty impressed by the build quality. I've tried friends' Android tablets and they've all felt much less sturdy. The things that I find the most irritating is no ability to add a micro SD card for additional storage or to transfer files. Secondly, the hoops one must jump through to transfer files from a Windows PC to the Ipad. All my other computing devices, I can just plug a USB cable in and drag and drop files. Not with the Ipad. I'm literally going to have to use a flash drive with a USB plug on one side and a Lightning plug on the other to get it done in any reasonable way (going through the cloud is not reasonable or effecient in any way). To be fair, I have no real need for a tablet. This is more a toy than anything else. It's just less than optimal that the one or two uses I actually would have for it are made more difficult because of Apple's apparent paranoia over letting me move my own files to my own device directly without going through them.
Depends on one's usage preferences. I've owned both and found multi-tasking, display and file management on the Samsung tabs unmatched (things i prefer). It works best for me but you are right with that 5 year coverage. We'll see how I feel in 3 years when samsung gives up on me lol. Check out a samsung tab if you haven't. By the way, I'm just sharing my experiences. Not trying to argue because I also agree the iPad is adequate, probably even overkill lol, for 99% of people 👍
The "cheaper" question is a teritorial point. In Brazil the Apple products usually are double the price of the Samsung, and are only used more as a Status question, than as a quality question.

Hi Ivan, thanks for the comparison! Makes my decision much easier, However I found an article which says that Samsung supports new models for 4 years with security updated now. Included is for example the S-series. Could you check that out if that's true?
This is a great comparison, it all comes back to what we need from tablet as a tool. I've used iPad 9, samsung galaxy S6, as well as huawei matepad 11, and for a short time i've tried S7 FE and S8. For me, i currently used both android phone and ipad os system and what i feel is this. 1. ipad os is better at consistency, smoothness, apps optimalization, gaming, and like ivan said focus on single task. 2. android os is better at versatility, file management system, price value and features, customization, and apps flexibility 3. harmony os on huawei has potential, i really like that it combine ipad os consistency and android flexibility, but as long as i rely on google services, i'm having hard time using harmony os. Yes it can be done with tweaks or 3rd party apps, but it's just inconvenient. TLDR; Go for ipad for performance consistency, and samsung tab S for versatility. hopefully other android manufacturer focus on software side of their tablet, like what huawei did, and not just making phone with a bigger screen
im having trouble to choose between the ipad 9, tab s6 lite and the s7 fe..i rlly wanted the ipad 9 but i dont like the non laminated display and the old design. I also like big size tablet so i like the s7 fe too😌 the only concern for me is the processor for the s7fe and the s6 lite, im afraid that it wont last long. i wanted to use it specifically for note taking and i will be using it for more than 3 years so which one should i choose?
The fe will have a longer support life despite the missing headphone jack so I see it as between the iPad and fe unless you find the lite at an unbeatable price. I was tempted to getting a Samsung but last year started converting to apple products for my main devices. My kids all have tab a 10s. They aren’t to bad. I’ve just bought to many iPad apps to let that go now. Some of my paid android apps aren’t support any more which is another reason for me going apple.
Why are you so worried about processor speed? Both the S6 Lite and the 7 FE produce lots of power for most tasks you will be performing. Unless you are a gamer, the speed question is inconsequential. Both of the Samsung tablets are, in my opinion, far more versatile then the IPad pro, let alone this antiquated iPad 9. Furthermore, the S-pen is included in the price of both Samsung's, and NEVER needs charging, whereas the Apple pencil compatible with iPad 9 always runs out of power and needs charging with every use. Also, it's method of charging is archaic. Bear in mind the 7Fe is a 12.4 in tablet while the S6 Lite is 10.5 in. Hope this helps.
Non laminated display isn’t deal breaking actually, the gap is not noticeable most of the time. If you wanted to buy samsung tab, go for S7fe, the processor in S6 lite isn’t great for gaming. go for iPad if you need the apps that unavailable on android like Lumafusion, Procreate, Affinity apps. for entertainment, the speakers and screen is better on S7fe, about editing apps on android, if you really need it, survey and find the ones you interested with before buying!
@@lauriealach1072 The s pen price included with the tab actually, but it’s cheaper to produce than apple pencil since apple pencil internal designed is more sophisticated. I would have like to have seen a better display and more ram on the S7 FE. Other then it's screen size, it's just a bigger S6 Lite IMO. FE variants usually combine the best features and functionality of both the high and mid range units e.g. Samsung S20 FE. But in this comparison, the S6 lite and iPad 9th gen look like the better deals. Especially if you don't plan on using your tab as a mini computer through DeX, which I'd imagine most people aren't. hello! just wanna ask, did you experience any discomfort because of ipad's (especially the 8-9th gen) layer limit on procreate? I've heard that the limit is around 30 layers, and I imagine it'll be very annoying to be stuck on the layer amount as I usually use up to 70-100 layers.
S7 FE is better for entertainment, it give give you extra power than S6 lite, as a student, you might play some games when you get bored. iPad if you need to use apps that unavailable on android.
I use the s6 lite every day for note taking and other productivity tasks and think that it is the best size for that type of thing. On the other hand a larger screen is more enjoyable for media consumption. So which is more important to you. Either way you will have to make some comprises. But a very good question to be considered.
Unfair comparison. Tab S7 FE competes with the iPad Air 4, not the iPad 9th gen. Tab S7 and Tab S7+ compete with the 11" and 12.9" iPad Pro respectively. Tab A8 will compete with iPad 9th gen.
I was deciding between the two last week and already have purchased. The decision was on a knife edge actually but went for the ipad in the end. I'll just point out I own samsung products and no apple ones. A couple of different points for those still undecided.... I quite like the large ipad bezels lol, can hold it without touching the screen. I like the front facing button. Due to the aspect ratio its suited more to note taking than watching media, you'll have large black bars. I haven't really noticed the air gap while using it to take notes with the pencil but I will say if you are a serious artist then it would prove not very precise. It's a real shame the speakers are at one end although I was surprised at the nice bassy quality but haven't compared obvs. One thing I must mention is that unlike android you cannot have multiple accounts / users. This almost killed it for me. I let my kids use it and I take it to work so I can take to meetings etc. So everyone can access my stuff while using it (yes I know there is some function to lock all but one app). There is no way to lock folders either. It's just annoying I can't switch profiles. All it needs is a switch that only allows access to certain apps or something.. Still it operates wonderfully and its really good value so I'll congratulate apple on that. Would I swap to samsung? I would but I'm lazy, the lack of multiple profile support or an alternative function isn't great for me. I think if you already have apple products then go for this or if you really need apple specific apps. Otherwise I suspect the s7 Fe would be a better choice.
Omg I hated the bezels on my ipad 8 and just switched to s7 as I am mote 20 ultra user. Also, although I liked the applications for art on ipad - the air gap was awful including when I am writing. I gave my ipad to my brother to do mathematics and reading eggs - and he is thoroughly enjoying it 😅

Long time software update Ipad (longest is 80months for base ipads as per Wikipedia). Better user experience in terms of apps Ipad. Better screen viewing angles Ipad due to IPS display this is the biggest point Im considering. High storage option with Ipad. large apps library with free alternatives S7 FE non charging stylus S7 FE also i doubt the S7 FE will not hang over time have not heard hanging problems in apple if well maintained. It will become slow as every consumable electronics but will not hang. considering android it would have been better if they had placed above S6 lite in terms of pricing. They have placed far away from the S6 lite. this thing is the third point to updates , display making me inclined to consider Ipad over S7 FE. In India Non wifi version is available with 64GB. If priced slightly aggressive it will have better sale.
hey man can you help me out I am also from India I've considered a lot, S7 FE with price around 3600 for base Wi-Fi model and 4GB RAM with stylus included looks like best deal to me, what I am really worried about long term support and slowing down I want at least 3 years decent usage and if it extends to 5 years I would be very happy, it's the only thing keeping me from deciding the right one, also my main use case is taking notes mainly and then other things, it seem to me from what I've seen from reviews like these that S7 FE seems lot better in that use case, also if you go for apple pencil it will cost you around that much and comparing processors they are pretty much same and very capable, at last what I've read Samsung does supports it's new products for 3 years at least and security updates for another year, What's your take on this?
@@diysumit hey buddy, i know ipad price in India is high due to the highest taxes we pay on these imported products (64GB variant with USD329 =INR 24k +20% excise). S7 FE is also good product but Samsung has gone wrong with pricing with INR37k too high for tablet with TFT display. If they had priced around INR34k(still considering the factor of large screen) would have been ideal. Don't decide your choosing factor on RAM because apple has tightly knit software with fixed hardware. Unlike android where there is variety of hardware. this translates to more heavy RAM requirement for converting the machine language to executable program. Regarding stylus if you are not into drawing, simple copy of pencil from Tukzer (around INR 2-2.5k) would suffice the requirement (search amazon you will get various option). ipad pencil is recommended for artists which require tilt function and is not necessary for note taking. Try to get discount on apple product with following ways, 1. If you have US relatives you can have the item at discounted price during holiday season 2. Apply discount via student ID club it with Amazon ICICI pay card or flipkart axis credit card (This is official way to get some good discount, Im also trying to get one but don't have reference) 3. get discount through Amazon/Flipkart during these sales , you can slightly low discount with EMI options MRP of ipad 64gb INR31k+ pencil copy ~INR2.5k would still end up less than S7 FE INR 36~37k. minor points to be noted for ipad is speaker position and the non laminated screen. but you wont notice until you are working as an artist and now everyone uses bluetooth headphones so speaker positioning is not that much of deal breaker. It will definitely survive longer than android. Looking at above you may consider S7 FE only if smasung prices it correctly around INR32k-34K. (please read S7 FE review on amazon india)

@Dakshesh Gauba yes. The iPad is a lot better for gaming, the Galaxy Tab for media consumption and note taking.
@@DcRider05 and I think Samsung just has promised 3 years of software updates and 5 years of security updates so just keep in mind

I think that the IPad 9th Gen is actually a better value than both the Tab S6 Lite and Tab S7 FE. At least you will get 5-7 years if updates. Samsung will probably support their tablet for 2 years at most.

It's just less than optimal that the one or two uses I actually would have for it are made more difficult because of Apple's apparent paranoia over letting me move my own files to my own device directly without going through them.
a very good day to you
could you test, which of these 2 display, has a better wider viewing angle
Great comparison, thank you for video!
The ipad is cheaper, more than adequate for 99% of people AND will be supported for 5 years. It's folly to buy anything else, period.

2. android os is better at versatility, file management system, price value and features, customization, and apps flexibility
3. harmony os on huawei has potential, i really like that it combine ipad os consistency and android flexibility, but as long as i rely on google services, i'm having hard time using harmony os. Yes it can be done with tweaks or 3rd party apps, but it's just inconvenient.

i wanted to use it specifically for note taking and i will be using it for more than 3 years so which one should i choose?

But in this comparison, the S6 lite and iPad 9th gen look like the better deals. Especially if you don't plan on using your tab as a mini computer through DeX, which I'd imagine most people aren't. S7 FE is better for entertainment, it give give you extra power than S6 lite, as a student, you might play some games when you get bored. iPad if you need to use apps that unavailable on android.

Otherwise I suspect the s7 Fe would be a better choice.

considering android it would have been better if they had placed above S6 lite in terms of pricing.
Try to get discount on apple product with following ways,
1. If you have US relatives you can have the item at discounted price during holiday season
2. Apply discount via student ID club it with Amazon ICICI pay card or flipkart axis credit card (This is official way to get some good discount, Im also trying to get one but don't have reference)
3. get discount through Amazon/Flipkart during these sales , you can slightly low discount with EMI options
MRP of ipad 64gb INR31k+ pencil copy ~INR2.5k would still end up less than S7 FE INR 36~37k. minor points to be noted for ipad is speaker position and the non laminated screen. but you wont notice until you are working as an artist and now everyone uses bluetooth headphones so speaker positioning is not that much of deal breaker. It will definitely survive longer than android.
Looking at above you may consider S7 FE only if smasung prices it correctly around INR32k-34K. (please read S7 FE review on amazon india)
@@ganeshkale1987 Thanks man much appreciated
U can get S7 FE at ₹33,250 on amazon using credit card. Its a better deal.
@@udayachander2757 Yes all is upon the preference. Ipad Air 64 GB is also available at INR38.9 K including discount where most of the shortcomings of Ipad 9 are nullified. If seen IOS support for ipad and Ipad air they are better supported in terms of updates.
Great, tanks!

Hey from India, the ipad and ipen here costs way too much, wondering if there is a way to buy from us sitting in india
hi i need someone's opinion, if im just buying the tab for taking notes, which one should i choose? i like both and they are at the same price in my country.
I would like to know , which tablet can't compete according to the title -- Ipad 9th gen or Samsung tab s7 FE ?
winner depends on user’s choice and preference
@@zect556 I see.
With Samsung's shorter years of support as compared to Apple, would the device's performance really be affected? I'm looking for something that would last longer than at least 5-6 years. If the device is pretty much useless after support ends, I don't see any point in getting it. Can anyone help with this please?
Uf u arent heavy user in terms of cpu and ram, ipad is usable lot longer than 5 years. But sincr then there probably will ne something that will make you wanna upgrade of you use ir often
