Regarding the Jeff Jarrett match. Another booking that made absolutely no sense. The point of it was to get Bryan ready for his championship in 2 weeks. The first thing Jeff does is try to hit him with a guitar and then he puts his ankle into a chair and tries to shatter it. Effectively trying to end his career. It made absolutely no sense at all.
I totally disagree with the idea of waiting on his return. We all been about to lose it without the Tribal Chief and the ratings don't lie. Roman is Mr. Summerslam not Mr. Royal Rumble. I am glad he is back and can't wait to see what he has planned for us.

WWE has three big shows setup. WrestleMania, the Royal Rumble, and Summerslam. Would it have been wild to have Roman appear at the RR? Sure. But they've been hinting at Roman coming back for a bit, dropping little breadcrumbs here and there. And, I like Solo, but he can't continue to be the face of that plot. I usually agree with Eric's points, but this is one I think he's wrong on. His mentality here is probably why some of the nWo's story beats didn't feel as good as they should have. Eric had the opposite problem from Tony Khan. He'd wait just a *tad* too long to give us something we wanted. This was the perfect amount of "wait", and also "surprise." Roman returning at SummerSlam was perfect. Wether it is from business perspective or from the reaction of the fans. Roman returning at SummerSlam 2024 as a Face/Anti-Hero is also great ending to his heel run which started at SummerSlam 2020. This makes SummerSlam to have special place in Roman's Carear. An other thing is we don't know, had he waited to return later, his return would be successful as SummerSlam was. And What would The New Bloodline do? without their storyline involving the OG Bloodline. There is no more Jimmy nor Heyman. The Story would have gotten Slower or bit forgotten. That's why for example they had to involve Cody in the Bloodline story for a second time.Because the idea was, Since Solo thought he could do the job better than Roman, he wants to prove himself by beating Cody. I don't know if they go further with the New Bloodline without Roman Reigns' return, they could tell a story which would make the people to be eager for his Come back. When Roman confronted Solo Sakoa, that's when the Rock should have walked in setting up Roman vs the Rock. Call me crazy, but I would have had Heyman return in the meantime with a vengeful Lesnar. That would have really propped up the new Bloodline

WWE has waited 12 years to have Roman be a successful face. Bloodline B team was getting boring. The only thing I would of changed about Roman's return was have Roman return with the USOS having his back
The scenario played out because they had their back to the wall. The crowd was building anticipation for his return and you can feel the crowd almost distracted during the main event. Waiting longer could’ve made that ending flat for summer slam. It was better to strike now while it’s hot. Or else every paper view and talent would suffer due to the crowd anticipating a return.
I think it was a bit too soon. Additionally I don’t think they should have touched. Allowing Roman to punk out the new bloodline already just doesn’t seem like the right play.
They brought him back too early of course summer slam wouldn’t be a problem but if you watch the wrestling back in the days wrestling wrestlers would be gone for a very long time and pop up so having the fans wait longer is nothing out of the ordinary we could’ve built solo reign to be a bit more stronger which would make the return even more greater but for me the bloodline 2.0wasn’t fully established yet
I think roman came back when he did as summerslam was only stadium show for a while. Bigger crowd means bigger reaction. Interesting question indeed. I would've had him return around Survivor Series, but I guess the issue with that would've been potentially rushing the buildup to a Bloodline tag match of some sort for War Games. I can see the rationale with having Roman come back at SummerSlam; they're gonna take their time now building this story up and getting the original Bloodline back together over the next several months. Also, I think at this stage, with what Roman has become, even if the company tried to bring him back as a heel, it wouldn't work. In the eyes of the fans, Roman is a babyface. This is the end result of not only built-up equity over the last 4 years as the Tribal Chief, but an acknowledgement of Roman Reigns' journey in getting to where he is now from day one. I think Roman is bigger than any title now, heel or face. I am a little nervous though about them potentially watering him down too much as a babyface. He's a natural heel. As long as they keep him a badass tweener, like Steve Austin, and like the way he's been presented so far, I'm happy.
With the current approach to storytelling, this will go just as long or longer than had they waited to bring him back later. I trust the storytelling. Fantasy booking it myself I would have had the Bloodline end at 39. And then we would have missed out on what we got.

Wrestling today sucks. Me and my brother predicted all of the mens matches for summerslam after looking at the wrestlemania results. It's too predictable and corny. i've been watching the WWE since the Ruthless Agression Era, and stopped watching in 2009, and i came back to watch in 2011 because of cm punk and john cena feud, these 2 alone put Roman in a trash can, the thing you see in roman it's all fabricated, the shield debuted on 2012, i saw their debut live, and the person that caught my eye the most wasn't seth rollins, wasn't roman reigns, it was clearly dean ambrose, that guy had that psycho look and that idgf face, then i really liked seth rollins because of his in ring ability he was insane, roman i always saw as the guy who just powerbombs and spears people, basically the muscle of the group nothing more, and i thought to myself, if they get separated roman has no chance, and he didn't had, if it wasn't for his family connections etc... Agreed also. Survivor series should have been the new bloodline vs Cody and company. The new bloodline needed more time. Roman should have come back at the Rumble. When Roman confronted Solo Sakoa, that's when the Rock should have walked in setting up Roman vs the Rock. Call me crazy, but I would have had Heyman return in the meantime with a vengeful Lesnar. That would have really propped up the new Bloodline

I am a new subscriber after recently getting back into WWE documentaries and just being totally obsessed with all the drama from NWO and attitude era. I’ve been listening to everything available and I now understand why people aren’t liking Conrad. It’s because every time Eric says anything that can be viewed as negative towards AEW Conrad throws a fit or seems annoyed. IMO the reason we don’t like Conrad is because it’s soooo obvious he doesn’t want us viewers to hear honest opinions from Eric he would rather be a corporate shill and push AEW as good to us to benefit himself in someway it just comes across like all corporate media or “influencers” and how they want to use there “platform” as they say to benefit companies like AEW and that’s just not what we want! The scenario played out because they had their back to the wall. The crowd was building anticipation for his return and you can feel the crowd almost distracted during the main event.
Waiting longer could’ve made that ending flat for summer slam. It was better to strike now while it’s hot. Or else every paper view and talent would suffer due to the crowd anticipating a return.

They brought him back too early of course summer slam wouldn’t be a problem but if you watch the wrestling back in the days wrestling wrestlers would be gone for a very long time and pop up so having the fans wait longer is nothing out of the ordinary we could’ve built solo reign to be a bit more stronger which would make the return even more greater but for me the bloodline 2.0wasn’t fully established yet

I would've had him return around Survivor Series, but I guess the issue with that would've been potentially rushing the buildup to a Bloodline tag match of some sort for War Games.
I can see the rationale with having Roman come back at SummerSlam; they're gonna take their time now building this story up and getting the original Bloodline back together over the next several months.
Also, I think at this stage, with what Roman has become, even if the company tried to bring him back as a heel, it wouldn't work. In the eyes of the fans, Roman is a babyface. This is the end result of not only built-up equity over the last 4 years as the Tribal Chief, but an acknowledgement of Roman Reigns' journey in getting to where he is now from day one.
I think Roman is bigger than any title now, heel or face. I am a little nervous though about them potentially watering him down too much as a babyface. He's a natural heel. As long as they keep him a badass tweener, like Steve Austin, and like the way he's been presented so far, I'm happy.

With the current approach to storytelling, this will go just as long or longer than had they waited to bring him back later. I trust the storytelling. Fantasy booking it myself I would have had the Bloodline end at 39. And then we would have missed out on what we got.

Wrestling today sucks. Me and my brother predicted all of the mens matches for summerslam after looking at the wrestlemania results. It's too predictable and corny. And Roman Reigns isn't going to be wrestling on any of the smackdowns and maybe not even the next PPV. Whats the hype for? The guy was champion for way too long, and passed it to Cody who sucks.
