Shelly, you are so dang cute,funny and just such fun to listen to and watch. Viva Las Vegas! I use to spend sooo much time there. I pulled a 42’ 5th wheel and always parked at SAMS. I'm glad it's not just me! I went to be shade matched at Mac recently and told them I was NW20 (my last match) - the assistant laughed as she put NW13 on my jaw and showed me that even that was a hair too dark! (Ended up with N4.75, which is perfect)
Mac is gonna hafta start going into the negative numbers to make foundations that are light enough for us pale folks, my word. Thank you for all you do
They finally have new and pale enough shades in this new version of Studio Fix and also Studio Radiance! NW5 and NC5 are the lightest and there's even more shades between those and NW15. Nic pale and freckled here on RUclips has a recent video showing swatches of the new NC5 vs old NC5.
I have NW5, for shade reference I wear EL Double Wear in 0N1 and Too Faced BTW in Cloud.
GOSH that is tough. I'd probably have both because the RdF is this super-lightweight formula which is what I want sometimes, and the Polite Society is this phenomenally blurring look... so I'd say, whichever is more important to you, go that way. RdF would be practically weightless feeling with nice coverage and PS would be a blurred glowy finish but not as lightweight (not heavy - just the RdF is phenomenally lightweight). Both perform great throughout the day so it's a tie there.
my brothers wife is albino we bought her nw5, she is basicly white with a slight pink undertone it matched her perfectly
I got a sample yesterday, was so excited to try today , it went on beautifully, about two hours later I noticed lines I didn’t know I had , about 5 hours later it had disappeared from my chin - I loved the original , I didn’t enjoy the new version 😭😭😭😭
It's so dark for an NW15!
Ugh yep. I'd get NW13 if I didn't already use it. Their new formulas all seem like 1-2 steps darker than the old ones.

Why did MAC do this with their shades? NW15 is completely different in the new formulas (this one and the serum foundation or whatever it's called). I'm NC13 or NC15 in the older formulas; I don't think I'll risk this new range. I'd look like an Oompa-Loompa in that shade you have there! The finish on this formula is indeed lovely, though, and I'm impressed at the longevity. I feel you on the instant dehydration, when I'm visiting family in Colorado I can drink 4 liters of water a day and still be dehydrated. If I lived there I'd have to learn how to give myself an IV bag of fluid every day 😬
Yeeeeeup. It's such a bummer. It used to be that everyone knew their shade in MAC because all of the shades across their products were consistent. Not anymore. Both this one and the serum one are too dark in my usual NW15. I exchanged the serum for NW13 and it is better but not as good as the old NW15 was for me.

Hehe ahhh man, that hotel room! Noted in my mind. Nice review, thanks! If your shopping proceeds, try the Ciele tint, blush, powder and bronzer. I went for it in the Sephora sale and can't stop using it. Not just the physical SPF but the products are beautiful and don't burn or break me out.

Wow, that view is gorgeous! Pizza Rock looks amazing, the salad looked awesome! I totally get it about not wanting to have to pee while traveling. Now that I'm in perimenopause, I swear my bladder has gotten so much worse most likely from hormonal fluctuations that I cannot hold in my pee anymore.🤷♀️ While traveling, I also limit my fluid intake to avoid having to stop to go to the bathroom. Ugh, such a pain. When I get to my destination, I swear, I feel like spongebob when he had no water.🤣 I think the Mac foundation looks beautiful. The Studio Radiance version looked beautiful too. Why they darkened the NW15, I do not know, that is ridiculous. The good thing is that it still looked beautiful on and didn't make a difference. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip. I think a color changing PH lip gloss would be a lot of fun. I've never used one but would surely try it!👍
I have such a tough time finding foundations (or concealer used as foundation) for dry sensitive skin. If u could design some base product like this, I'd be ecstatic! Im around an NC20ish in MAC btw
I live in Utah and it is always dry here, Vegas is even drier. It will dehydrate you soooo quickly. This is why people from humid places end up dead or sick, hiking in the desert. And lol, the hotels alone in Vegas mess with my allergies.

I also don’t drink much when I fly because I’m someone that goes to the bathroom a lot as it is. I also have anxiety about having to go at times when you’re not allowed to like when fasten seatbelt sign is on. So, I try to go right before getting on the plane and about 20-30 min before landing. Anyway, they have studio fix compact powder so this is the studio fix fluid :)
I like that mascara on you, especially with the dark bangs.
My first holy grail foundation was MAC Pro Longwear foundation. I was crushed when they discontinued it. I might have to try this one out. Thanks Shelly! ❤
That was also my most favorite foundation as it would give a satin finish. It looks like this one resembles more of that foundation than the original studio fix. I could not find anything like pro long wear yet.

No ph adjusting u should make a balm not gloss lol I just got the Kylie butter balm actually love it in 619 she’s lovely perfect neutral … also I’m sure it’s old but I just got it the Pillow Talk Superstar Lips Lipstick it’s the prettiest neutral pink and shiny and moisturizing I just happened to see it in Sephora lol

Love the finish of the foundation - stunning, I couldn’t see on top of your skin. May have to take a wander into town to pick up a tester. Colour, not so sure - looked almost orange on the swatch and couldn’t tell properly on your face with the hotel bathroom lighting. The lipstick looked really good though, gorgeous.
That shade looks very warm not cool but looked great on you ! I always buy MAC at airport too can’t help it lol think after you came back from doing rest of your makeup you were missing some product in your chin

Shelly! 😂 I needed a laugh today and this realness hit the spot. Sorry for the crappy bed! I need to use the face & body again m, it's the only MAC foundation I have tried and in the winter it was working great. Last week I tried 3 different foundations on and hated them all and just used the Purito cc cream.

I gotta say, I miss zeva making an appearance. You should have dancing girls behind you since you're inn vegas. A friend just moved to Vegas from LA...I remember Vegas as cheezy...the opposite of rural. What's your opinion of the environment in Vegas?
If you mean literal environment, I don't think my dehydrated dry self could ever live in the desert! Even spending 5 days there wrecks me 🤣 If you mean like societal environment, I've only been there as a tourist and almost always staying on the strip, so I only really have tourist exposure. It's the kind of environment where I don't think I'd ever bring kids under 18 (though tons of people do) but I enjoy the heck out of a little debauchery 🤣 Vegas is where I go to party and gamble, so... take that as you will!
@@goow Yeah, I think I'd bring a set amount of money with me for gambling, and load up on hydrating serums, moisturizer and sunscreen!
Ohhh Emm Gee!, please yes to making lip gloss…. Orange, strawberry, lemon, French vanilla (anything but that barely there, overly sweet can hardly taste the vanilla), mocha, heck!, even a celery flavor.

It doesn’t look too bad as a foundation. I’m usually nc 20 don’t know if I should buy 2 shades lighter or not
I'd definitely go at least 1 shade lighter. I can easily go down 2 shades but I went with 1 shade down on the other one to not be quite so restricted to winter months, but I can totally wear 2 shades down now that they're all darker.

I thought your older studio fix was NW10?
It was - I'm usually between the NW 10/13/15 but now that 15 is so dark I'm probably never actually NW 15 in their new formulas. I usually use NW 15 in my swatch comparisons as it used to suit me best for most of the year. I swatched this in the store but of course I always forget how bad the lighting is.
Love the eyes and lips… but I think the foundation is one shade too dark for your complexion. (Your hands look lighter in comparison.)

I'd say the Dior is a little bit more lightweight, but they're about equal performance. If you already have the Dior I don't think you need the MAC, but if you don't have either, the MAC is less expensive (but a little higher coverage, if you prefer lower).

I love the Haus Labs foundation, Guerlain Terracotta, and NARS Light Reflecting. The new Polite Society falls in this bucket too though I haven't worn it for as long as the others. They all build up really well to a near-full coverage and all are hydrating and have a more luminous finish. The new Make Up For Ever Hydra Glow is even more luminous and has great coverage (but definitely dewy).
It looks like a smooth foundation but much too yellow for you.
Do you like this or the Mac radiance foundation better for dry skin?
The radiance - this one would be mostly an event foundation/long day foundation type of thing for me.

Btw what does vegan pepperoni taste like?? I've never had it.
It tastes pretty much the same since really most of what it tastes like is the spices! But the vegan versions still haven't gotten the oil/grease part which does contribute to the overall taste I think. Most vegan "meats" are drier and don't get that nice greasy fried bit on them.
