As a long time MAC Lover, I really appreciated this video, Risa. NO ONE does comparisons and analysis better than you do - from wear test, to color analysis, etc., etc. Keep doing what you do for us!
This video was nothing short of brilliant. It's so obvious that you really thought it out and performed a superb test of the product. MAC should pay you for this video. Thank you! You've convinced me to try out this product!
Hi Risa! Dry skin girl here! Thank you for your review for us dry skin girls! On my way to Ulta later to get Mac foundation radiance because of your review!! Love your videos as always! ❤
It's extremely impressive that they were able to compensate for the oxidization so that when the new formula oxidizes, it comes out to be the same shade as the old formula. Bravo to their chemists!
I'm 53 and I've used MAC Studio for many years because like you I have oily skin. I was thinking I'd have to use Estée Lauder Double Wear only now when I heard it was discontinued. I tried the new MAC Studio FIX and I'm not disappointed at all. I actually like it better I think.
The combo of this foundation and one size powder has become my holy grail combo instantly. I used to use the old Mac foundation and this new one is even better. I live in hot humid Florida and this combo with the one size powder is a necessity!!
Thanks Risa! I started with Studio Fix powder plus foundation over 20 years ago and loved it for a long time. Now that I am older (57), I no longer use powder foundations and I am always on the hunt for the perfect one. My holy grail was Estée Lauder Double Wear Light and I was truly devastated when it was discontinued. I’ve yet to find anything close. I am also still mourning the loss of my holy grail lipstick of almost three decades - MAC Viva Glam V. 😭😭😭 I can’t get over it! 😅😅
I too was devastated when double wear light and viva glam 5 were discontinued! So unfair 😭😂 I have found revlon lipstick in the shade blushed is very similar, just a fraction darker and it lasts a little longer on the lips.
I'm so glad you're happy with the new formula and new shade, Risa. Can't wait to see what they come up with for the new Face & Body, which has been my true holy grail since the 90s!
Great news, Risa. I've worn the Studio Fix fluid for many years. NW20 or C3.5 are my shades. The pump is a huge plus. Thank you for this news and your review!
Your comment is right on point. I do find that most content creators are liking everything they review. It’s just not realistic so it’s hard to spend the money based on their reviews! Risa and Stepanie Marie are my main ones to watch as they are honest about what doesn’t work on them.
Love your gorgeous self❣️ Well loved your review, I’ll give it a try even though I’m a dry gal, Loved your gold earrings and your natural nails🥰🥰Thank you❣️
Hi Risa. I have, as I have gotten older, developed dry skin before my skin was pretty normal, and I used NW20 in the studio fix. However, since my skin has gotten dryer, I went to MAC last year and got myself color matched to the new foundation MAC Studio Raidance, and I was matched up to NC14.5, quite a big jump from NW20 to NC14.5? This foundation is absolutely amazing. I have Cle De Peau, Lamer, Chantecaille, Estee Lauder Double Wear, and this foundation makes my skin look like a porcelain doll. People stop me and ask what skin care I use. It's perfecton, in a bottle❤❤ absolutely love it. Love your videos. I always watch them no matter what
Hi Risa! While I’m a dry skin person and not interested in this foundation, I still enjoyed your review, you’re so thorough! I also wanted to tell you a huge thanks for the recent hacks, I’ve been rocking them since your video and enjoying it! Thank you, thank you! ❤
I have been watching you for probably 7 or 8 years and never seen a foundation look so good on you! It makes you look pore-less. Yay to your Holy Grail 🙌 Thank you for taking the time to do a thoughtful multi-day wear test instead of a first impression. This is why I trust you so much Risa
I enjoyed your video regarding the MAC new formula. I myself "used" to be oily. However, now at my age I'm soooo dry. Since I trust you I think I will try MAC radiance.
Thanks for your honesty in EVERY video! You SHOULD love the reformulation… you look just stunning. I am 67 now, we have very different skin types, but you are so relatable; I always feel like we could be sitting at your kitchen table or mine as you give me the scoop on various products to consider. Now that I am well over 50 I realize just how vital skin care/spf are before applying make-up. I look forward to hopefully seeing further candid recommendations on skin care from you; todays options are often so pricey, I find myself asking sales people for samples of creams, primers, spf’s, etc. Thanks for happily encouraging us to do that with foundation, too!
Exactly why I’m a loyal follower of your videos Risa. Everything you have recommended performed exactly as you shared. With extremely oily skin myself, I depend on your honesty and genuineness. Thank you!!!
I recently bought the true skin foundation from Nikki Larose recommendation and I thought it was OK, but not as special as she had said. Of course, her technique is amazing because she’s a make up artist. This morning I traded with the foundation technique that you shared of putting it in the palm of your hand, and it looks stunning! Thanks for the tip. P.S. I had already started applying liquid and cream blush on my hand and pre mixing it there to make sure it’s evenly distributed already partially blended before applying to my face-if someone reading this hasn’t tried that I highly recommend for a flawless airbrushed finish.
Great video! So thorough..your skin looks flawless! Uou ate dpot on! Alot of influencers never say anything about failed products!!😂 Ty Risa! Appreciate all your reviews!
RISA!!!! i was looking for foundation for high humidity, on top of super oily skin & texture issue…i found you!!! i absolutely LOVE your style & beauty!! i watched your hacks video…PLEASE keep you face structure as natural as you can! i don’t care what others say about your nose…you are gorgeous & are aging BEAUTIFULLY!! you own it😉 keep it real & honest 👏👏
Thank you so much for reviewing the new Studio Fix fluid Lisa-I felt the disappointment too when you said it was being reformulated. What a relief to hear you say it is even better! It looks amazing on you 😊
After seeing your video on applying foundation by swirling in your palm. I tried it and YES. Surprising made a difference. I also prefer to have my foundation darker also.
Beautiful color match Risa! Looks lovely on your skin! That foundation hack you shared last week was fabulous! I will only use that application method going forward! Thank you for sharing! 💜
Thank you for this video! I was so happy to see that it wasn't discontinued. I placed an order for the same shade that I currently wear in the old formula. Will be curious to see if I need to adjust the shade as you did.
OMG...I'm so relieved! I've been anxiously waiting for someone I trust to do a review on the new formula. I was seriously distressed when I got the email from MAC about the reformulation. Sounds like I may have to redo color matching, though. I'm neutral undertone and my go-to color has been NC15. I can live with that, though, as long as the new formula is holding up as well as the old one always did! Thank you, Risa!
Hi Risa, as always I really appreciate your reviews. Thank you. And I'm reaaaaaaly glad the new formula works for you. The love story just keeps going 😁
I have been a clinque girl since high school. I wanted to try something different and bought this. I'm wearing it for the first time today. It is AMAZING! chef's kiss for sure.
I’m so glad I bought a shade lighter than what I usually would. I used to wear NC20 or C2, but I purchased NC15 in the new formula and it’s the perfect shade.
Thank you Risa as always. I hate reformulations; they always scare me. I know it sounds silly but once I find a product I like to stick with it. I have dry skin/normal skin. Lovely look Risa!
I love you're reviews Risa! I know i can trust what you say and as an oily skin girl i look to you for your opinions especially on foundations and powders!😊
I tried the Morphe foundation you recommended and holy cow, I love it. Not a Morphe girl, but it's great. I used your new technique to apply and it was so pretty. I think warming the foundation in your hand that way makes all the difference. Will be using that technique with all my foundations going forward!
Thanks so much for this review! I was waiting for your opinion. I recently opened my backup bottle of the original formula, so I won’t need the new one for quite a while, but I’m so glad to know they didn’t ruin it with the reformulation!
Risa! Thank you so much for the hack of using your palm with a brush to apply foundation! I tried it and the angels were singing! For my whole makeup life, I’ve never liked how foundation sat on my skin. I’m 72 (almost) and still have a very oily T-zone. No matter what foundation I used, I thought it looked terrible on me. Now, thanks to your hack, my foundation looks great! Now off to Ulta to buy MAC Studio Fix…. ❤
Thanks for the info. I hate when folks get rid of our holy grails. I wore their blush margin forever and they discontinued it. I was fortunate enough to be in a store one day when they had their remaining stock on sale. I bought every single one of them and still have a few. You can bet your bottom dollar I'll be scraping & scrimping every single morsel out that I can. And then cry when they're gone :)
Thanks 🙏🏼 I was so devastated when you said in one of your videos that the Mac is maybe being discontinued. I’m so happy they just reformulated it. And that you like it ❤ I have dry skin and I love the old formula. ☺️
Glad you like the new formula of your go-to foundation. You looked gorgeous for your dinner. BTW where did you buy your black top on your video? Thank you.
Yes im one if the combo-to-dry skin viewers and your tips still are very relevant and helpful to me, thank you. Plus im 55 so the wrinkles are another issue altogether!
Thank you for this wonderful in-depth review, Risa! You're awesome! And the new shade you purchased is just perfection on your skin! Perfect match! Looks amazing on you! 😍
Risa, I’ve been using Estée Lauder double wear for at least 20 years (I’m 56) and I’m wanting to try a different foundation. What foundation is your absolute favorite? I’m considering this MAC Studio Fix and also the Smashbox. I value your opinion and think we have very similar tastes. Your makeup is always gorgeous and I cannot think of anyone else that I would trust to help me with this decision. Thank you so much for any help.
OMG, Risa, Thank you so much for this video! MAC studio fix is my OG that I use almost daily and I am so nervous about this new formula! I, too, have to mix two shades (NW10 & N4.5), so I'll definitely be looking at the shades. I have a more cool undertone, so I I guess we'll see. I'm so relieved that your experience has been a positive one! Can't thank you enough! ❤
I came back to MAC recently after a decade away and I gotta say, I'm very impressed. Their formulations are great across the board. They honestly have some of the best lipstick formulas out there, the new reformulated Macximal lipstick are fantastic, and their powder kiss line is great. The foundation formulas are excellent. My only complaint is that a lot of their foundations don't go light enough for a fair skin, or if they do, the gap between the 5 and the 10 is huge. I wish they came out with a 7 or something like that. But yeah, MAC still got it, and I'm not surprised that they've weathered the past decade of all these new brands coming out. Looks like their reformulating efforts are paying off too.
You must be wearing Stone Cold Fox this morning because that’s what you’re looking like! Amazing how the color morphed into the old shade of NC20. I thought you liked the Estée Lauder double wear???❤
Aw thanks! I do like ELDW a lot, but I always found the MAC to be more smoothing on my texture, and help control my shine a bit better. I have multiple bottles of both!
I love this shade on you. You are definitely a neutral. You can carry off more yellow based, but this definitely makes your skin look so natural. I am going to try the Radiance, as my skin is dry. BTW, I love your earrings. Have a great day!
Thanks for honest reviews! I see a lot of those “I love everything “ over here on YT too. I’m getting older and I just ordered the Radiate one while Ulta was having a good sale on it! I have yet to really try it!
Do you think it’s best to go into an actual MAC store to purchase for matching purposes or is Ulta ok? I do not have a prior MAC shade that I’m looking to match. I would be a new to the product.
Nice review and comparison between the new and old. Also can i ask where are those pretty gold earrings from? Are they all a matching set for multiple lobe piercings? They all look great together. Thanks 😊
What a wonderful and thorough review Risa! It looks beautiful! I have been using your new makeup application tip and love it! Makes such a noticeable difference!❤❤😊
Risa, thank you for recommending a Mac option for your dry skinned gals! I wish you had shown us your entire outfit for going out to dinner at Joe's Stone Crab - boy I miss going to the original Joe's in Miami Beach. South FL was my work territory in the 80's & always went to Joe's. Hope you had a great dinner! Cheers from Central FL🎉!
I think it would be fine, it’s more about the finish you’re looking for. I would assume that drier skins would like a little bit more “glow”, and they have the Studio Radiance that offers that.
I just had my colour match for the new formulation done a couple of days ago. I used to use NC10 in the winter and NC15 in the summer, but I left with N4 (which was a perfect match after oxidization). I don’t feel the coverage is quite the same, and I felt like there was a bit more shine after a few hours, but I felt “glowy” versus “greasy.” I’ll keep using it for years to come, I’m sure.
Love the video, Risa!! I appreciate you sharing your honest opinions and tips for this foundation. I'm also oily with textured skin, so you're always my go-to for face products- as it seems a lot of people have dry skin 😅
Honey dont you know tic toc is famous for liking everything bc they want the brand to send them PR and not only that, they want a sale... Tic toc is terrible for that!! Thank you Risa for the great vid... Im dry but dont want to glow i like a natural look not glow so what do you suggest?? I always go by what you say.. I trust your option... Also what setting powder do you suggest for dry skin?? Your the best, and thank you!!!❤
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching! Yes, TikTok is becoming way too sales-y. There’s a huge influencer over there that has promoted 5 different skincare lines within the span of one month! We’d never get away with that on RUclips, our communities are way too savvy! 😊 If you want to look glowy but not oily, I would use a luminous primer under a matte foundation or mix them together.
@@RisaDoesMakeup I don't want to look glowy..is there a good full coverage foundation for dry skin that isn't glowey like a natural looking foundation?? What do you suggest??
Oh my gosh, I'm going out to buy some right now! I have oily skin with the biggest pores. I've gone through so many combinations of foundations, powders, primers, moisturizers, now adding in niacinamide serum, etc. Now hoping I can get the right shade, my skin is very red, it makes matching difficult.
Just wanna say thank you for your very extensive test and review! I am rather new in the makeup world and had just purchased this foundation last week (new version), but am lacking comparison to other medium to full coverage mat foundations. So, I am glad to have a second reference now (besides „my“ MAC makeup artist) and am looking forward to making my experiences with it :)
Thanks Risa! Im excited to rry this now! I wore Studio Fix years ago but stopped as it started to feel too heavy on me, be interesting to see if the new one is better for me 😊
Thank you for this! It’s been my go-to foundation for 15 years! I stray- but always come back. I have been matched by many counter specialists as cool leaning neutral. Seems correct. Have always worn MAC NC20 in foundation but a NW in powder. 😵💫
I agree that the studio fix is my holy grail also! Another favorite is the All About Face that I bought per your recommendation and I love it too. Of course the price is better than Mac but still love it
Hey Risa! Looking at your pretty earrings for going to dinner I was reminded that you removed your helix peircing (as did I, it was annoying). Afterward however, I got a daith piercing and I LOVE IT SO MUCH! I never feel it and I’ve never had a problem sleeping on it. I’m very excited for when I can switch out the original jewelry to something more exciting. Just thought I’d mention it in case you were still wanting something more. Xo
Hi! I don’t even know what a daith piercing is, but I’m going to look it up! My helix piercing actually isn’t gone intentionally. The person who did it never told me that if you leave it out for even a short amount of time it can close up!! I had my earring out for probably 48 hours, and the hole closed up!! I’m still so bummed since it cost me around $400 and took a year to finally heal!
I was color matched to NC16 (old formula) for the glowy one I'm NC12. I'm curious what my shade is with the new formula. I used up my one bottle of MAC studio fix fluid in 2023. It was good, long lasting, and comfortable. I have mature skin that's combo dry. I use SPF each morning and moisturizer under my foundation. 😊
Beautiful. I’ve never purchased Studio Fix because they don’t have my shade. I’m medium skin tone and pink. Unfortunately, their definition of pink is orange, because they want to cancel out the pink. I don’t want to cancel it out because when I do, I look like I’m wearing clown makeup. I actually need pinky-cool undertones and most brands go the orange route. I’ll definitely check out the new formula and see if they have a shade that will fit me. @Risa, if I’m looking for an actual pink undertone shade, what letters of foundation am I looking for? NC? C? NW? Hopefully I’ll find one with the new formula because you’ve always raved about this and I’ve always wanted to try it. Guess I’ll be heading to Macys this week! :)
I’ve always struggled with an exact shade match too. NC’s will be warmer, NW cooler but you’re right, they often look peach and not pink. The C shades are neutral/cool and neutral/warm. It’s definitely best to go get shade matched.
As a long time MAC Lover, I really appreciated this video, Risa. NO ONE does comparisons and analysis better than you do - from wear test, to color analysis, etc., etc. Keep doing what you do for us!

Hi Risa! Dry skin girl here! Thank you for your review for us dry skin girls! On my way to Ulta later to get Mac foundation radiance because of your review!! Love your videos as always! ❤
Thank you for watching! I hope you love the Studio Radiance and make sure to test the shade you buy in natural light. 😃
Your life is awesome.
The radiance is so nice. I think you'll like it. I have normal skin but I love it
It's extremely impressive that they were able to compensate for the oxidization so that when the new formula oxidizes, it comes out to be the same shade as the old formula. Bravo to their chemists!

You do such a professional job comparing and reviewing products. I also especially love the low lights in your hair. Just so flattering.
I absolutely love your job.
I love your company.
Risa I trusted your honesty for years and you’ve never steered me wrong - Thank you!
I appreciate your detailed and honest reviews, Risa, plus all of the extra time you take to compare products. You rock!
Thanks for doing a comparison. It's great when a reformulation works as well or even better than the original.
I appreciate you so, so much !
Very natural, love it.
I appreciate your honest reviews. I trust your opinion on products. I can’t say that about too many influencers. Thank you. You look beautiful.

Love this look, so natural !

Thank you!!!! I’m so grateful for comments like this and viewers like you! 😘🥰
I can’t wait to finish my old MAC STUDIO FIX and try the new/updated one. Thank you for testing this product. Great video.

I’m considering this MAC Studio Fix and also the Smashbox. I value your opinion and think we have very similar tastes. Your makeup is always gorgeous and I cannot think of anyone else that I would trust to help me with this decision. Thank you so much for any help.
I’m so glad you did this experience!
I like your video very much.
Enjoyed the video and your comparisons. The newer color does look better than the samples. Beautiful lady!
Admission. Ive never tried a MAC foundation. Loads of lipsticks but i am dry and like the hydration. Well done video Risa!
Love your black top. I have dry mature skin and bought the radiance foundation. I like it.
I don’t even use studio fix but knew this would upset or worry so many people when the news came out xxxx
Excellent job, Risa. Loved the walkthrough and your always helpful commentary/guidance.
I enjoyed reading this.
Does Mac fix cover melasma? Would I need a darker shade to cover?
Ulta should be fine, just make sure it’s a MAC specialist that matches you.
Nice review and comparison between the new and old. Also can i ask where are those pretty gold earrings from? Are they all a matching set for multiple lobe piercings? They all look great together. Thanks 😊
Thank you! They are all from Amazon! They have such a great selection. The back one is a set that goes in both the second and third piercings.
Thanks do you have a link at all or name of the seller available? 😊
I just purchased this and love it. I too have oily skin. Thanks. It's perfect.
What a wonderful and thorough review Risa! It looks beautiful! I have been using your new makeup application tip and love it! Makes such a noticeable difference!❤❤😊
I like your video a lot.
Loved the video , the new shade looks beautiful on you ❤
I’m excited to try the new version and even happier it finally comes with a pump! 🙌🏼
What do you think it’s going to do our normal to dry skin?
If you want to look glowy but not oily, I would use a luminous primer under a matte foundation or mix them together.
@@RisaDoesMakeup I don't want to look glowy..is there a good full coverage foundation for dry skin that isn't glowey like a natural looking foundation?? What do you suggest??
Hi Risa, what is your shade in Estee Lauder Double Wear?
Very HELPFUL video! ❤
Hii risa I'm just wondering if you have ever tried merle Norman foundation if not you may want to try it.
I trust your opinion so I will definitely try it. Love your reviews.
Thank you for your reviews!! I really appreciate your hard work!❤
I love your job.
Thanks Risa! Im excited to rry this now! I wore Studio Fix years ago but stopped as it started to feel too heavy on me, be interesting to see if the new one is better for me 😊
Very honest thorough review.❤
I have been using it for 20+ years! What are we going to do???? 😱
So perfect...
Awesome comparison video! Thank you!
The freckles look so cute.
Thank you for this! It’s been my go-to foundation for 15 years! I stray- but always come back. I have been matched by many counter specialists as cool leaning neutral. Seems correct. Have always worn MAC NC20 in foundation but a NW in powder. 😵💫
You’re hair looks so pretty!
Excellent video, very helpful!
Oh what a bummer! I ended up taking the helix out because it never healed properly. Not what I wanted, but I was over trying to make it happen. 😂
