Hoto Laser Measurement Tool has Accuracy Issues

This is a rare occasion where the product far under performs my expectation. It's a laser measurement tool and you expect to have an accuracy of 1/16". It's about 2-3 times that without anyway to manually calibrate it with an offset. If you're ok with subtracting a fixed value all the time then so be it, go ahead.

The small 1/16" movement on the hook of the tape measure isn't a defect, it's a clever design feature that helps you take precise measurements!
It is implied the 1/16" movement is to account for the hook thickness. The defect is in the Hoto not giving accurate enough measurements.
can you make vids of your home cooked meals? miss seeing those.
Today was pan fried chicken. Noted, I'll see what I can put together.
What is the tolerance of the tape?
Much higher than the thing being measured. The notch at the end moves and that was adjusted correctly.
What laser measuring device do you recommend?
I haven't gotten it yet but probably will soon. amzn.to/3UwmLwM This one is is +/- 1/16" More of an industrial product, I think this will "JUST WORK" as it should be.
Mine got unusable after a few weeks as well. It now has a 90cm offset or something along that line (haven't touched it in a while for obvious reasons). It doesn't even measure lower than the offset anymore. I contacted support, they responded but made me jump through so many hoops like asking to provide a video etc and then claimed they couldn't watch it. Which might be true due to chinese firewall restrictions. I sent it in another way but nothing came out of it. Now its a paper weight and will find its way into the trash at some point :c Verdict: Don't bother.
Past return period? I didn't like the offset so I returned it.
Same here, after 6 months using, it got completly crazy with aleatory offset from 40cm to 100cm. Garbage
