Just some really quick checks with a tape measure and it seemed to be accurate. I have a couple other lasers, I should probably check them all against each other. Maybe, just need to find the time!

Is there a function to do a live and continuous measuring?
Not sure. Sorry
English system is archaic already and using decimal divisions on english system if not practical in american construction. Why doesn't this gadget do the standard english divisions? 1/4", 1/8" and so on. It's just algorithm that they could include!
