A group of us, here in Dallas are working to get together to go play this in support of our patients, as well as other tunes on shift change at our Major Public Hospital Here, safely.
I love your interpretation on this piece. Very tasteful and incredibly musical playing taking place throughout the ensemble. Bravo 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 French horns! Thanks for uploading this masterpiece!
It's so amazing, I like so much this music, she reminds me of the movie Memphis Belle, God bless America and God Bless you all, Take care to all, Sincerely from France in Normandy
The phrasing interpretation...you hear it so many times played one way, and once you hear it executed so beautifully in a different way, it takes you breath away. Amazing job folks. 👍🏻
Oh, Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling From glen to glen, and down the mountain side. The summer's gone, and all the roses falling, It's you, it's you must go and I must bide. But come ye back when summer's in the meadow, Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow, It's I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow, Oh, Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so! But when ye come, and all the flowers are dying, If I am dead, as dead I well may be, You'll come and find the place where I am lying, And kneel and say an Ave there for me. And I shall hear, though soft you tread above me, And all my grave will warmer, sweeter be, For you will bend and tell me that you love me, And I shall sleep in peace until you come to me!
Correct. The words to the tune were written by an English lawyer ( thus they lack meaning somewhat in an Irish context) but the air is traditional Irish from much earlier times from the county Derry area.
It's not Danny Boy, it's the Londonderry Air. Danny Boy refers to the schlocky lyrics pasted onto the tune by some American. one of the loveliest airs ever composed, and one of the most depressing downer songs ever imagined.
My bd told me why this song was written. She said it was written because the child of the creator went to war. This is probably why the song is also called "Danny boy".
They are gonna blow the curves out of their horns.
Just had my high school marching band’s Ireland tour canceled due to COVID-19 chaos. This gives me all the feels right now.
Wait Grissom high school

Very Grainger-like, elastic and forcefully legato. Loved the accents in the horns near the end which most groups just ignore.
🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷💃Beautiful!!
Ah, the "Londonderry Air," or "O Danny Boy." I thought it was "O *Johnny* Boy." Thanks for sharing and #HappySaintPatricksDay in advance!
Very Good!

I am among the first 6 to comment. 😎🇧🇷
I would love to have this Sheet

Lyrics written by an English barrister from Portishead. (the town, not the band)
The conductor doesn't instill much confidence with his head stuck in the score with the occasional look up.
The band sound great as usual.
This band doesn't need anyone to instill confidence in them. They're wonderful.
