I've owned like 30+ cars and in my life I always go back to late 80's and early 90's Chrysler products. The 2.2 and 2.5 are so easy to work on, the parts are still somewhat cheap, the reliability of my Chryslers have always amazed me and I've had pretty much nothing but good luck with these cars. They are a vastly underrated gem... kind of glad as nobody really tries to flip these cars. I've owned like 5 Dodge Rampages. My last Rampage was destroyed by a drunk driver while parked in front of my house, loved that little car truck.
When switching to a 5 speed, you'll pick up a ton of oomphf... the stock automatics on these cars were designed to take grandma to Church on Sunday.

I owned a 91 Sundance engine wise no issues 2.2 was pretty reliable, just kept on top of the general every day things like oil changes I did like the back seat being able to fold down, it's was reasonably comfortable driving on the Hwy looks well not many 80's cars where known for their looks, good thing was 2.2 and 2.5 was pretty easy to work on ,

My first car was an '89 Sundance I got in 2001. Those things have sentimental value to me. I miss that turd to this day and still think about it. Might even get me another one just cause

My Sundance turd was my first car too, they're perfect cars to learn to work on and drive because they are basically worthless. I delivered food in mine for years and I'll be damned if that thing didn't start up every time, though

Plymouth Sundance, great car, roomy, solid, 2,2 good motor, 2.5 had even better gas mileage...

Sheesh, i dont remember them being that ugly. I guess my dad picked a shining jewel outta the bunch. It was an '89, burgundy with nice chrome accents and had a luggage rack thing on the trunk. It also had turrrrbo boost, with the cool indicator on the instrument cluster. I sort of remember that losing its punch after a while, but it really was a great car. He brought it overseas to Uruguay and then sold it there before he got reassigned...

The Sundance/Shadow is NOT a cool car and Iococcoa was wrong! BUT that's what makes them perfect for a low buck JDM style build.

I love these older, obscure cars, even if they truly do suck in some ways. Everything looks the same these days, ON TOP of sucking in many ways.

80s economy cars are the most cool un-cool things
