Me too. I love CG - apart from an indie brand I worked with, I have more CG than anything and they are the most adventurous. I really hope they'll make it... But honestly, this whole thing has got ridiculous. At least four collections plus specials each year and the collections just get bigger and bigger. Just one brand can be between 40-60+ bottles a year and I'm over-faced so completely I only keep up with a couple of brands. I feel like our fun thing is being sorted, organised, timed...and ruined. It's so sad. Is it just me or is anyone else just NOOOO TOO MUCH CAN'T DEAL AAAARGHHH AAARGHHH WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE (cos I'm not even remotely melodramatic 😁) Just....put out stuff when you have something new, not this regimented and endless parade. There are only so many colours...
I'm so very sad about China Glaze, I really love their colors, their formulas, it's the only mainstream brand that I purchase the entire collections when they release it (spring and summer specially), and by far the brand that I own the biggest amount of polishes. I've been very apprehensive about this mystery. Thank you for your video, it seems you're the only one addressing it 🧡
I don't have a lot of CG polishes but they've done some of my favorite Fall/Winter/Holiday polishes. I hope they come back even better. And yes, with a wide brush! Thank you for the update Janixa.

Like Sinful Colors, which has been going downhill. Good thing I still have I'm All In, which is the Carded Glitter limited edition shade, poker inspired. That glitter shades has diamonds, spades, hearts, and clubs shaped confetti. The shade itself gives some Harley Quinn vibes.
China Glaze has been disappointing these last few years. Their polishes have been horrible. Thanks for the update. I knew something was up with CG when they didn't release their summer collection.
Yep, I haven't bought anything from them since the Jurassic World collection released. The Eco Glaze line doesn't seem to have done well either, I regularly see it on sale for $5.
I am so nostalgic and love all of the older China Glaze collections and polishes!!! Especially the Halloween ones but there were so many other fun ones too!!! I did a huge decluter of hundreds of polishes and I couldn't part with any of my old China Glaze...except the few that turned dull or dried up...maybe 8 or so? I really love Sinful Colors too...I love all of the fun collections that they did too...soooo many unique glitter and shimmer polishes!!! I kept most of those too!!! I really hope that both brands keep making fun polishes or our polish world will never be the same!!!😭 Even though I do love many indie polishes and collections, indie makers usually create what they want and if we happen to like it then great...but CG and SC really created fun polish that catered to us! Well we definitely still have Orly and they are a fun brand too!!! Color Club has also done some unique collections and super cute polishes!!!😻
Yeah color club seems to have quit making holos also. They are selling the leftovers from earlier collections at exorbitant prices on the cc website. And you’re right, they haven’t done much marketing or released new collections for a while. :(
I noticed the same thing and was just on their website. I love CC and hope they stick around! Hoping CG just rebrands and stay the same fun brand. Hoping Sinful Colors comes back in some form 😢
China Glaze was my favorite nail polish, but I found this video because I was trying to figure out what happened to my go-to red. Ruby Pumps was one of my favs. I got a new bottle a few days ago and it was underwhelming. Very little sparkle. I couldn't figure out if I was just misremembering or what, so I pulled out my old bottle and compared them and I'm not happy. It's listed as the same color, but it's thinner, requires more coats, and is now only vaguely shimmery, unlike the dense glittery red it used to be. I'm so disappointed. Now it all makes more sense. Thank you for the information!
Thank you for the update! I truly hope the rebrand is a success and happens quickly. I love China Glaze and I hope they don't lose their edge, as they've always struck me as the mainstream brand that's not afraid to take some risks.
I love China glaze! They were one of my first mainstream brands after KB shimmer. In fact, KB shimmer was my first indie polish and then China glaze was my second. It was Ruby shoes I believe. I wonder after they rebrand if they're going to be more accessible. What a pain in the butt it is to get their collections sometimes. Thank you so much for the update! I'm a little nervous as well but I'm mostly excited to see what they do. I just really hope that they keep their quirky style and their different textures and finishes like you were saying.

I hope that whatever happened to my beloved Sinful Colors doesn't happen to China Glaze; as it's one of my favorite minstreaam brands. I was disappointed that they didn't come out with a summer collection...usually they are fun bright colors.....but hopefully the re-branding will improve on the brush but still keep it's fun funky colors/collections and maintain the price point.....😊
I JUST ordered a couple colors from collections a couple years past that looked so fun and reminiscent of the bold colors I enjoyed in the early 2000s. I really hope, for CG and Sinful, there's a rebranding that combines their strengths and produces a great line for mainstream stores and serious hobbyists.
I hope they change their components more than anything. The bottle and brush always convince me to skip whatever I’m interested in. But their Halloween and Holiday collections are always so fun!

Oh my gosh thank you for the update. I love china glaze they are by far my favorite mainstream brand. I love all the funky fun stuff they come up with plus they are so affordable too. I am excited to see what they do but scared and worried too. I am also wondering what will happen with salon perfect too being their sister company. I have noticed a lot of salon perfect polishes clearance at Walmart and it looks like they are going towards gel polishes.

I love nail polish. I'm praying for China Glaze to not discontinue. The last line of polishes that they released was this Spring. I miss Pure Ice, Sinful Colors and those Blackheart Beauty nail polishes from Hot Topic 😢. I'm huge into glitter nail polish and I know it's a pain to remove. But I just love how absolutely gorgeous glitter nail polishes are.

I will be watching for an update on CG! I only have three CG polishes. I love their colors, but I was so disappointed when I received them and they had those dreadful narrow brushes. I had to change the brushes to some that I had ordered from KBShimmer. I highly recommend KBShimmer’s wide brushes.
Do they fit?! I thought they were too short! I've replaced every single one of my Essie's old brushes with the wide ones from Glisten & Glow (I think)! It worked flawlessly
@@Melissa-vg8tu I would say that KBShimmer brushes fit about the same as Glisten and Glow. I like the Glisten and Glow brushes also. I guess the short brush is the price we have to pay to get the wide brush in certain polishes. Hopefully, that will one day change for the better.🙂
Thank you for the update. I was wondering what was going on with them over the past year. Seriously hope the rebrand is for the better. I'm also one who always gets the Halloween collection. They've been an amazing brand especially when you factor in price. Polish has gotten so expensive being able to pick up a whole collection for around $30 is a steal. It would be amazing if they went out with a HTF bang and re released stuff like cowboy bye, party hearty, etc.
China Glaze and Sinful Colors were my favorite brands for a long time, especially before I discovered indies. I hope China Glaze comes back bigger, bolder, and better!
I bought some old China glaze nail polishes on big sale, they had so many better nail polishes before, better colors and formulas! I bought This one's for you, Strike up a cosmo, Santa red my list, Agro and Awakening, I paid one bottle around 3 euros, this is around 3 usd, this is cheap and they are beautiful, especially Strike up a cosmo ❤️

The Sesame Street collection was fun. I have one or two of them. I do have other CG ones. They aren't a bad polish. The rebrand should be interesting. I had no idea about SC. Wow.
I only have one China Glaze. They are pretty and a bit more unique, but I hated the brush so I avoided them. I thought the formula was hit or miss. Maybe they are thinking of changing up some of those things. I hope so. Thanks for the info as always.
Sinful Colors was thr first mainstream/drugstore brand I remember having "funky" colors back in the early 90s. I loved the brand and I was sad when Walgreens stopped carrying them and now the brand seems to be gone and it really makes me sad! I have loved China Glaze since the first time I tried it at a nail salon in the early 2000s. I am not happy to hear they're rebranding. It doesn't sound good to me. I don't like change. 😬 I hope it will be better than I think. I really don't want to lose one of my favorite brands! Thank you for the information about this.

Thank you! I really was wondering what was going on. My biggest fear is this means a significant price increase, but maybe they are just revamping packaging for a new retailer or something? Wouldn't it be great to see them in Walmart or Target? I think I'm in a similar space of cautiously excited. Edit: I would pay more to keep their polish unique, though. Just looking at my collection, they basically are my Halloween and ethereal spring fairy sections. Your Touch is my signature fall color, too.
I'm a big fan of China Glaze and I miss Sinful Colors. China Glaze has very good shades and collections. Some are very good and some not so good. The last time that China Glaze has not do a fall collections was in 2020. That's when the pandemic shut everything down, and they did a Halloween/Winter collections instead. I hoped that China Glaze will rebranded and updated the bottles and the brushes. Thank you for the info updates.

I always looked forward to China Glaze’s Halloween collections and I will have to say their last good collection was the extraterrestrial collection. I do hope they come back. China Gaze was my first polish brand I ever bought. Well Revlon too but when I found CG I was hooked.

China Glaze was my nail polish “gateway drug” so I’m hoping that they keep some of their core polishes around for the rebrand! The hoarder in me wants to go to head2toebeauty and buy everything I want a CG backup of 😅 the rational person in me says that’s crazy 😂
I don't know how I missed that they didn't do a summer collection 🤔. I usually look forward to seeing every release. I'm nervous about the rebrand because I'm afraid they will ultimately disappear like Sinfulcolors. They are my favorite brand. I love collecting their older popular colors. Just when I think I'm done I find another must have☺️ I like the look of the bottle, but it is a pain to store. The brush is okay, much better than their original one. A paddle brush is always nice though.
Huge China Glaze fan, Kokie, Sinful Colors...come on!! I own them all. I do hope as well that the funky, fun MO can remain. I miss collections like the Rebel collection and the like. I love the 12 pieces and own so much of their polishes.

Hmmmm, I'd been holding off on getting Ruby Pumps, since I have some other red shimmers/glitters in my collection at the moment. Looks like I better not wait any longer. I'll be honest; I feel like the nail polish market is SO saturated right now; even a lot of indie brand collections are starting to give me deja vu. So even though CG is a solid mainstream, w/ good quality and variety of colors, maybe it's starting to get lost in the shuffle. I don't know, but I hope they don't go under completely.

Oh, no! China Glaze is my favorite brand. This is so disappointing. I love China glaze because they do wonderful glitters and textures. Lots of purples, blues, mints, and fun colors. Sigh. So sad. I love the current brush b/c I have narrow, high C-curve nails, so it just works well for me. I also love the China glaze bottles and want uniformity in my collection when I display them. The only collections I liked from China Glaze was the Deserted Fall, Serpentine, and Wonka collections. I hope that China Glaze upgrades their nail brush to a wide nail brush. Sally Hansen has a wide nail brush. Also, I noticed that China Glaze didn’t post any new polishes for summer or fall.

Wonder if they're going to keep their "cult core faves" like For Audrey, Fairy Dust, Ruby Pumps, etc. w/ this re-brand. 🤔 Sigh, "rebrand" is a scary word in the beauty space, and screams "cutting corners/cost" thus "unrecognizable product/direction/drop in quality that frustrates long-time users", yay! 🙄 I've seen it w/ makeup brands (BH Cosmetics and Bite Beauty) and it's usually not a good sign. But! I remain hopeful this isn't their case 🤞🏽Thanks for the update. Also Color Club is acting weird... their holos are insanely priced rn that I'm wondering if they're having problems too. Kinda felt they were "clearing stock" last year when they were practically giving away 'mystery' polishes for a $1, and people were hauling 50+ polishes like mad.
I really would love to see CG change to a wide paddle brush. A rubberized cap would be great too. A thinner, taller bottle would be easier to store as well. Other than that, I would like to see them stay a little different from other main stream brands like they have done with their funky collections.

I’ve never done it, but it can be done💕

Yes they did! They’re still around but they restructured the company in order to stay afloat. Sinful Colors belongs to them and ever since the bankruptcy, they haven’t released anything new. 😕
Hey Janixa, I put my comment about being over-faced elsewhere, but I wondered if there was something going on last year cos I'm outside the US - we get stuff later but usually get it, but since at least Autumn last year they're largely MiA here. I hope they are brave enough to stop this runaway train of huge collections quarterly, following fashion seasons I could not care less about. There's just too much; too many collections, too many bottles in each collection, hopeless branding I don't understand. If you just follow five of the big brands, that's about three hundred bottles a year and it's killing my love for NP. Just....present new and interesting things as available, none of us need this endless treadmill of repeats we have to check against last year's version and oh lordy, I appear to be ranting again, soz. You're pretty much the only NP channel I check out now so afraid you get all the impotent rage 😁 Is it just me, cos I am so over-faced...? Thanks for the update tho 🤗
I like the seasonal releases. It’s fun to see what every brand comes up with. For a regular collector with no social media presence, I’d recommend only buying what you really love. 💜
@@naillacquertherapy I used to as well, before they became rote across every brand and just got bigger and bigger. I used to do all the wordy stuff for an early indie, and if ever I wanted to collate newbies I had to sell it to her - names, tag, storyline, how it fit into brand ethos and extant polishes, the whole shebang. If she didn't "get" it, and in its entirety, then no collection. And the owner had that hard line for the same reason, that collections were put out now...because its that time of year, not to fit a cohesive theme. And I love that, I think it's a huge part of why indie collections often appeal because we get the story. Obviously its different depending on angle; a brand owner will see one aspect, a writer/marketing/whatever a different one and serious collectors and extreme enthusiasts like you different again. And any involvement will inevitably dampen enthusiasm a little, that's natural. Perhaps I over-emphasise this aspect because its the one I understand the most (still not much cos I r a derp) but I'm kinda sad about it still. Orly and MT lost me several collections - mostly of brown stuff - ago, OPI, Zoya etc put out such huge amounts that even if I see something I like it always had to be cross-referenced back because I inevitably have it already....and now CG....the only one....just....WAAAAAAH! Coo. Sorry my lovely, that was a rant! But CG DID still put out exciting stuff or surprises outside the regular scheduled programming (ooof, there's a statement that shows my age!) and are my fave mainstream. I don't even care about the brush cos my nails are ludicrously narrow and can still do some of them in one stroke even with the three hairs CG present as their brush. AND they're the hardest bottles for the cat to knock over....THEY CAN'T LEAVE ME, I NEEEEEEEEED THEEEEEEEEEEM 😱😫😱😫😱😫😱 However, over it or not, jaded or not, and bad-collections-stop-forcing-it or not, you are the only channel that has survived the ennui - I don't watch others, don't keep up with NP and could paint my way round the universe several times over with the fifty gajazabatrillion bottles I already have, but I still find your content so chill and enjoyable. You poor thing, you seem to have me for life 😁🤗

I was disappointed that they didn't come out with a summer collection...usually they are fun bright colors.....but hopefully the re-branding will improve on the brush but still keep it's fun funky colors/collections and maintain the price point.....😊

I JUST ordered a couple colors from collections a couple years past that looked so fun and reminiscent of the bold colors I enjoyed in the early 2000s. I really hope, for CG and Sinful, there's a rebranding that combines their strengths and produces a great line for mainstream stores and serious hobbyists.

Oh my gosh thank you for the update. I love china glaze they are by far my favorite mainstream brand. I love all the funky fun stuff they come up with plus they are so affordable too. I am excited to see what they do but scared and worried too. I am also wondering what will happen with salon perfect too being their sister company. I have noticed a lot of salon perfect polishes clearance at Walmart and it looks like they are going towards gel polishes.

I love nail polish. I'm praying for China Glaze to not discontinue. The last line of polishes that they released was this Spring. I miss Pure Ice, Sinful Colors and those Blackheart Beauty nail polishes from Hot Topic 😢. I'm huge into glitter nail polish and I know it's a pain to remove. But I just love how absolutely gorgeous glitter nail polishes are.

I will be watching for an update on CG! I only have three CG polishes. I love their colors, but I was so disappointed when I received them and they had those dreadful narrow brushes. I had to change the brushes to some that I had ordered from KBShimmer. I highly recommend KBShimmer’s wide brushes.
Do they fit?! I thought they were too short! I've replaced every single one of my Essie's old brushes with the wide ones from Glisten & Glow (I think)! It worked flawlessly
@@Melissa-vg8tu I would say that KBShimmer brushes fit about the same as Glisten and Glow. I like the Glisten and Glow brushes also. I guess the short brush is the price we have to pay to get the wide brush in certain polishes. Hopefully, that will one day change for the better.🙂

Thank you for the update. I was wondering what was going on with them over the past year. Seriously hope the rebrand is for the better. I'm also one who always gets the Halloween collection. They've been an amazing brand especially when you factor in price. Polish has gotten so expensive being able to pick up a whole collection for around $30 is a steal. It would be amazing if they went out with a HTF bang and re released stuff like cowboy bye, party hearty, etc.

I bought This one's for you, Strike up a cosmo, Santa red my list, Agro and Awakening, I paid one bottle around 3 euros, this is around 3 usd, this is cheap and they are beautiful, especially Strike up a cosmo ❤️

I only have one China Glaze. They are pretty and a bit more unique, but I hated the brush so I avoided them. I thought the formula was hit or miss. Maybe they are thinking of changing up some of those things. I hope so. Thanks for the info as always.

Sinful Colors was thr first mainstream/drugstore brand I remember having "funky" colors back in the early 90s. I loved the brand and I was sad when Walgreens stopped carrying them and now the brand seems to be gone and it really makes me sad!
I have loved China Glaze since the first time I tried it at a nail salon in the early 2000s. I am not happy to hear they're rebranding. It doesn't sound good to me. I don't like change. 😬

Edit: I would pay more to keep their polish unique, though. Just looking at my collection, they basically are my Halloween and ethereal spring fairy sections. Your Touch is my signature fall color, too.

I'm a big fan of China Glaze and I miss Sinful Colors. China Glaze has very good shades and collections. Some are very good and some not so good. The last time that China Glaze has not do a fall collections was in 2020. That's when the pandemic shut everything down, and they did a Halloween/Winter collections instead. I hoped that China Glaze will rebranded and updated the bottles and the brushes. Thank you for the info updates.

I don't know how I missed that they didn't do a summer collection 🤔. I usually look forward to seeing every release. I'm nervous about the rebrand because I'm afraid they will ultimately disappear like Sinfulcolors. They are my favorite brand. I love collecting their older popular colors. Just when I think I'm done I find another must have☺️ I like the look of the bottle, but it is a pain to store. The brush is okay, much better than their original one. A paddle brush is always nice though.

Hmmmm, I'd been holding off on getting Ruby Pumps, since I have some other red shimmers/glitters in my collection at the moment. Looks like I better not wait any longer. I'll be honest; I feel like the nail polish market is SO saturated right now; even a lot of indie brand collections are starting to give me deja vu. So even though CG is a solid mainstream, w/ good quality and variety of colors, maybe it's starting to get lost in the shuffle. I don't know, but I hope they don't go under completely.

Oh, no! China Glaze is my favorite brand. This is so disappointing. I love China glaze because they do wonderful glitters and textures. Lots of purples, blues, mints, and fun colors. Sigh. So sad. I love the current brush b/c I have narrow, high C-curve nails, so it just works well for me. I also love the China glaze bottles and want uniformity in my collection when I display them. Thanks for the video though, I had no idea this was going on.

The only collections I liked from China Glaze was the Deserted Fall, Serpentine, and Wonka collections. I hope that China Glaze upgrades their nail brush to a wide nail brush. Sally Hansen has a wide nail brush. Also, I noticed that China Glaze didn’t post any new polishes for summer or fall.

Figured something was off as CG's last few collections weren't stellar or inspired. Wonder if they're going to keep their "cult core faves" like For Audrey, Fairy Dust, Ruby Pumps, etc. w/ this re-brand. 🤔 Sigh, "rebrand" is a scary word in the beauty space, and screams "cutting corners/cost" thus "unrecognizable product/direction/drop in quality that frustrates long-time users", yay! 🙄 I've seen it w/ makeup brands (BH Cosmetics and Bite Beauty) and it's usually not a good sign. But! I remain hopeful this isn't their case 🤞🏽Thanks for the update.
Also Color Club is acting weird... their holos are insanely priced rn that I'm wondering if they're having problems too. Kinda felt they were "clearing stock" last year when they were practically giving away 'mystery' polishes for a $1, and people were hauling 50+ polishes like mad.

I really would love to see CG change to a wide paddle brush. A rubberized cap would be great too. A thinner, taller bottle would be easier to store as well. Other than that, I would like to see them stay a little different from other main stream brands like they have done with their funky collections.

i feel like for the last year or so they’ve been kinda phoning it in, so i’m hoping their rebranding is to focus on the unique things that people love them for. they’re probably the most accessible for fun, unique finishes for mainstream polish fans. i dunno! i’ve been a fan, but i feel like 10 years ago they did much cooler stuff (i wasn’t into polish then, but all of the “iconic” ones from them were all the way back then)

Yes they did! They’re still around but they restructured the company in order to stay afloat. Sinful Colors belongs to them and ever since the bankruptcy, they haven’t released anything new. 😕

I put my comment about being over-faced elsewhere, but I wondered if there was something going on last year cos I'm outside the US - we get stuff later but usually get it, but since at least Autumn last year they're largely MiA here.
I hope they are brave enough to stop this runaway train of huge collections quarterly, following fashion seasons I could not care less about. There's just too much; too many collections, too many bottles in each collection, hopeless branding I don't understand. If you just follow five of the big brands, that's about three hundred bottles a year and it's killing my love for NP. Just....present new and interesting things as available, none of us need this endless treadmill of repeats we have to check against last year's version and oh lordy, I appear to be ranting again, soz. You're pretty much the only NP channel I check out now so afraid you get all the impotent rage 😁 Is it just me, cos I am so over-faced...? Thanks for the update tho 🤗
I like the seasonal releases. It’s fun to see what every brand comes up with. For a regular collector with no social media presence, I’d recommend only buying what you really love. 💜
@@naillacquertherapy I used to as well, before they became rote across every brand and just got bigger and bigger. I used to do all the wordy stuff for an early indie, and if ever I wanted to collate newbies I had to sell it to her - names, tag, storyline, how it fit into brand ethos and extant polishes, the whole shebang. If she didn't "get" it, and in its entirety, then no collection. And the owner had that hard line for the same reason, that collections were put out now...because its that time of year, not to fit a cohesive theme. And I love that, I think it's a huge part of why indie collections often appeal because we get the story.
Obviously its different depending on angle; a brand owner will see one aspect, a writer/marketing/whatever a different one and serious collectors and extreme enthusiasts like you different again. And any involvement will inevitably dampen enthusiasm a little, that's natural. Perhaps I over-emphasise this aspect because its the one I understand the most (still not much cos I r a derp) but I'm kinda sad about it still. Orly and MT lost me several collections - mostly of brown stuff - ago, OPI, Zoya etc put out such huge amounts that even if I see something I like it always had to be cross-referenced back because I inevitably have it already....and now CG....the only one....just....WAAAAAAH!

But CG DID still put out exciting stuff or surprises outside the regular scheduled programming (ooof, there's a statement that shows my age!) and are my fave mainstream. I don't even care about the brush cos my nails are ludicrously narrow and can still do some of them in one stroke even with the three hairs CG present as their brush. AND they're the hardest bottles for the cat to knock over....THEY CAN'T LEAVE ME, I NEEEEEEEEED THEEEEEEEEEEM 😱😫😱😫😱😫😱
However, over it or not, jaded or not, and bad-collections-stop-forcing-it or not, you are the only channel that has survived the ennui - I don't watch others, don't keep up with NP and could paint my way round the universe several times over with the fifty gajazabatrillion bottles I already have, but I still find your content so chill and enjoyable.
