    Really good tutorial. Well explained, all points covered, love the detail. I am about to fit these to my CRF300L. I beleive everyone has issues with the narrower front rim, thanks again!

      Thanks Jerry. Yes, I'm planning to do a video to review all of the modifications I've done and my thoughts on them. I just want more time with this Tubliss system to make sure sure that I'm covering all the points.

      @@ringonotts I've just checked the pressures after 6 days of fitting the system on. The high pressure innertubes gone down by 5psi (from 110psi to 105psi) and the main tire chamber gone down by 1psi (from 20psi to 19psi) on the front, and not gone down on the back.

      @@Shem I just installed mine. The rear was fine. Front - OMG. Very hard. I ended up using 4 F clamps getting the tyre off the bead and then forcing it in. Not fun.

      Thank you Mac. I personally would not have any issues with doing it but it is your call. TUBliss does not officially mention on-road use, but plenty adventure riders use these on-road without any issues.

    Hi Shem, could I ask about your thoughts on the tubliss system and the tracker tyres now you have used them for a while please? I was going to use the tubliss system until I found out that they are not road legal here in the uk.

    • @Shem
      @Shem  2 года назад +1

      Hey Ian. Sure. I've not really given much thought regarding legality of this system. I tend to take responsibility for my life and decisions I make (i.e. I change my brake pads when they are low not because it is illegal, but because it is a sensible thing to do), and as such and based on the feedback from other users, I concluded that using TUBliss on a Dual Sport bike is absolutely fine.
      In terms of performance, I've not had any air leak issues. Maybe over the course of couple of months, the high pressure innertube dropped from 110psi to 103psi, but this is still within the system requirements. I've not had any leaks from the main chamber. Regardless, I tend to check the pressures before every ride just to be safe.
      One negative thing I experienced with the system was when I was running Michelin Tracker tires and running them at 20psi. I've had 4 flats where the tire has been cut/ripped apart between the tire threads (presumably from sharp stones). I've sealed the holes without taking the wheel off using my Dynaplug, but I cannot help but wonder whether I would have experienced these flats if there was an innertube inside the tire... After all, it was only the tire that got cut open and most likely not all the way through - i.e. the stone must have sliced through most of the tire depth, and then the last millimetre opened up once the tire was being used. If I had an innertube, I probably would not have had a flat as a result of that.
      Because so far I only used Tubliss with Michelin Tracker tires, I don't know whether the issue is with the tires being too soft, or perhaps the combination of a soft tire and lack of support from innertube causes this issue?
      I'll probably know more when I try Tubliss with different tires and see if I get the same issue. I've purchased Mitas E13 Rally Star TT for the front and Mitas E09 for the back but I've not had a chance to fit them on yet.
      Just for context - my tires got cuts only when I was pushing the bike hard on a trail with sharp stones. I've not experienced that issue when I was riding at a sensible phase regardless of the terrain. On the other hand, none of my other friends that were riding with me at the time got flats.
      In terms of grip for Michelin Tracker tires - it is very good. It's a significant improvement over the stock tires in wet and muddy condition.
      Hope this helps. Any questions, fire away.

      I only mentioned the legal status of tubliss as I wondered how if the worst should happen and you need to make an insurance claim you would get on? Would they still cover you?. Also very surprised to hear about the trackers getting cut like that, I live in north wales so rocks are a permanent feature around here, I’ve been using Pirelli MT21s and found them to be very good but struggled with mud a bit so was looking at trackers so might have to re think that one. 👍

    Are tubliss safe for highway travel? And after a year how are they?

    • @Shem
      @Shem  2 года назад +1

      I've not had any issues with Tubliss related to highway travel. On number of instances I had to spend between 2h to 3h on a motorway doing around 75mph - no issues what so ever.
      Also, in contrary to some, I've not had issues with air leaks. I can leave the bike unused for 2 months come back to it and the pressures may have dropped from 105psi to 100psi in the inner bladder, and not drop at all in the main chamber. So overall, pretty happy with it.
      One issue I've had was that when riding aggressively on sharp and loose rocks, I've managed to slice my Michelin Tracker tire in 3 spots, which over time opened up and started leaking air. I managed quickly seal these with Dynaplugs, nonetheless, if I was running tubes, these tire cuts would not have become a problem. On the other hand, this was the first time I was running these tires - in the near future I'm going to try some Mitas E-09 on the back and E-13 on the front. Perhaps these will be tougher than Michelin Trackers.
