Instead of thinking of movements as a binary “you can do it or you can’t”, I always encourage to see any movement as a spectrum instead For seated pancake, one side of the spectrum is doing the movement with a flat back and a heavy load on back But on the other side of the spectrum is simply sitting on the floor and leaning over a few inches. Both are still seated pancakes at different levels of ability A common question regards if the lower back should be flat or rounded over.
